The BBQ in Texas is always on point. The sides, however, are ALWAYS a throw away. Its as if they put all the love into the protein and the sides are an afterthought.
I’m new to your channel so I don’t know where all you’ve been in your travels, but if you haven’t already done so, I hope you make it to MY hometown of Kansas City for a true taste of BBQ. We primarily use oak and hickory (some use apple wood) to smoke our meats and our sauces taste different as well. If you want the best pickles you’ll ever taste, hit up GATES AND SONS. The pickles are made in-house…..distinctive and delicious! Bonus: you don’t have to *look* for BBQ joints in KC because you can *smell* the wood smoke! Happy travels, young man. 😃

Being a fellow midwesterner, Texas is good for smoked meat, large cuts in particular brisket., chicken , great steak. The Midwest does grilled meat, bbq’d meat better. The sides in Texas bbq restaurants are allllways mid 🤷🏾♀️ brisket is equivalent to the midwests corned beef. Same cut prepared differently.
You turned me off when on 1 of your programs you said look at that mixed couples and the worst was something about molotoe kids that was totally unnecessary

I like Pit Room more than most places in Houston. You should try Blood brothers. They have a better menu and it a nice twist on texas barbecue.
Pinkerton is good too. Then you have Corkscrew BBQ too in Spring, TX. 😅 Truth BbQ is good too.

I just had it yesterday! Brisket was the best thing ribs were ok green beans ok and the Mac had to go lol 3 also!
