Thank you for showing the backlight in this review. I hear so many reviews talking about the poor backlight, but never actually showed it. Its a bit disappointing, but I can definitely see that their was some manufactoring constraints with the switch design.

      Pleasure :)
I'm in the same boat, I don't love the backlighting but the overall package makes up for it in my opinion. I also tend to use lighting in my office anyways when working at night so it's not a huge deal for me.

Nice review, mate! I got in on the Kickstarter for the Edge a couple days ago. Looking forward to putting it to good use with my new M3 MacBook Air.

Very nice review. I am a logitech mx keys mini user and want to get one of these keyboards. Do you notice any difference in the typing speed and typos when using the edge or the flow vs the mx keys? And how would you comparr the typing feel?

      Thank you!
This is a very good question, when I switched to the flow, it took me a bit of time to get used to the smaller layout and the keycap chape but I got used to it in about a week. It's now the one where I am the most precise and fast.
I found it took me more time with the Edge but I am now used to it. I think it has to do with the flatter shape of the keycaps compared to the Flow and MX Keys which have concave caps. This might help with feeling the keyboard better.

Are there keys with illuminated letters?

No, the light only goes around the keys

Why is there no video of you remapping keys with the Lofree configurator software? It is not available yet?

It’s not available on Mac yet, it will come in Q4 of this year :)

In terms of typing feel. Do you prefer the flow linear switches or this new edge? I prefer low profile keyboards. I prefer the logitech mx keys over the apple magic keyboard. Thinking of picking up the lofree, but don't know if I should go fo the flow (linear/white) or the new edge.

I have the tactile switches on the flow, I think I like those a bit more than the Edge but it’s really hard to say.
The edge did feel way slimmer when using it even though the actual difference isn’t that big. I think you might like that one more because of that
      Hope this helps :)

Just wondering if the keycaps can be swapped with regular profile keycaps? (like cherry, dsa etc.) Thanks! very interesting concept overall! Would be even better if it doesn't have the lower chin.

Kind of, you can put them on but it feels very weird and not as nice as the ones they made for the keyboard.

    Hi Nick!, quick question:
The awake time is good?, is better than the Flow?

      @NickLater  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

If you’re talking about the time from when it’s in sleep mode to when it’s connected, I noticed a good difference yes!

The easiest thing they could do is shine-through keycaps. At least they should've added an option to buy a set atop the keyboard. More money for them. But no, they wouldn't. I'm wondering why. Maybe the backlight is placed in a way that it wouldn't actually shine through the letter imprints? idk
Another thing that astounds me is that they call the Flow low-profile. Now try using it without a wrist-wrest and mess up your hands. They should look at Logi MX Keys mini to see what low-profile really means. End of rant, sorry :D

Even with shine through keycaps, the switches themselves would block some light, so I don't think it would be enough!

@@NickLater That's also a good point. Lofree told me that the keycaps are so thin that that they abandoned the idea. Maybe they meant just what you said. But they said they are aware of the demand are looking into it. If they find a way they'd do it but it won't be so quick.

It's really ugly compared to the Lofree Flow :-( The black keycaps don't even match the back of the (fake) carbon fibre surround? And what's with the big chin that looks uncomfortable as you are forced to rest your hands on the edge of it. The lack of shine through keycaps is unforgiveable on a keyboard costing $150

Looks depends on everyone, as I said, the design will be more polarizing on this one.
The carbon fibre is real but it’s true that the keycaps don’t match the color, depending on the angle they have a very slight purple tint. The flow has the same color so it might be due to the materials.
The chin is for the battery and is so slim you don’t feel it at all.
Shine through keycaps would’ve been nice for sure.
