It took two watchthroughs of this video for me to remember the one-off lore tidbit that Black Swan's appearance is her memory of her mother, and not what she looked like before becoming a Memokeeper and leaving her physical body behind. I never thought to ask if that was relevant, and now I feel silly for overlooking it.
If I can find again where I read that in so many words, I'll let you know as soon as I can. In lieu of that direct confirmation, the evidence is in Black Swan's character story. Part 1 alludes to Black Swan's mother being the fortune teller and Black Swan clinging to her memories of her mother. Contrast with Parts 2 & 3, that describe Black Swan in life as questioning the world and looking for stories, no cards in sight, up until she becomes a Memokeeper.
Reason he was referred as “Tiernan” was because what Acheron met was merely a Sin Thirster. Sin Thirsters are the shadows of the regrets and unfulfilled wishes of dead path striders that emerge from IX. That’s why the “Tiernan” Acheron met mainly talked and was driven about Penecony and his friends there, as well as helping other sin thirsters (particularly Galaxy Rangers that died in the battle against Zulo) move on because he wished he could help his friend and wished he could helped his fallen gallaxy rangers.
That princess catch in the trailer convinced me that theres more oddities involving Black Swan to come. Thanks for the detective work and the making of this video. I was really only expecting the missing content from the White Night trailer being cleared up.
@@iamemamae There's a handful of scenes in White night that are basically heavily edited in game scenes and just about every permutation of a major character has shown up in some way. Firefly's falling scene always looked like something that will be in game and thats not shown up yet.

After doing clockie dreamjoy it was impossible not to connect Razalina to Mirror Princess, and Mirror Princess to Black Swan. God that whole section with Black Swans trailer music playing to add maximum drama to the reveal of all the connections between Black Swan and Rosalina was just PEAK editing! The emphatic images on the beats like the Express slicing across the screen, the rising tension as you built up to tje main point before going into the evidence, it was so perfect! I keep rewinding it to watch again 😅
Oh also, you didn't misunderstand. We've known Acheron wants to kill Nihility ever sense her Myriad Celestia. That's the goal of Self-Annihilators in general, but Acheron might just understand enough to succeed.
Killing the Nihility is moreso the goal of the Doctors of Chaos (people who were inspired by rather than being dejected/degraded by Nihility) rather than all Self Annihilators. A Doctor of Chaos even appears in Acheron’s character story, seemingly researching how she was able to resist the Nihility despite being so intertwined with it
UGHHH FINALLY I’ve also had this lingering feeling of unfinished business after the penacony quest - I knew the loose ends with the IPC and stuff would’ve probably been explained later but the whole story just felt so unsatisfying??? I’m so glad Ema is working hard to provide us more answers and way WAY more questions
If you want more questions about Penacony's past answered I HIGHLY suggest looking into the story that Dreamjoy Memoir is telling. There's SO MUCH information about Clockie and Hanu and the fight against Boss Stone. It's so good.
Something else regarding shattered glass: the Garden of Recollection person hiding out on the Express for the Forgotten Hall is hanging out in a shattered mirror. So yeah, that's a thing.
Okay, after religiously watching several essays from what is most likely the foremost Gallagher expert HUNNY_PP, I am somewhat miffed by all this Gallagher/Enigmata hate but I’ll let things play out maybe maybe now possibly idk. What I will say is that there is a distinct possibility that there is a fictionologist still on Penacony since Gallagher was made by someone else and then met Mikhail. My bet is currently on Mr Rasas from the Scortchsand Vacation quest, but we shall see… Also now that I see the similarities I cannot unsee Black Swan as Rosalina and now I need to reevaluate my pull priorities. Well done as always your videos are an absolute delight and I feel seen by the half-mad rabbit holes! Edit: THE BEAUTY! Wait, what if there is a close connection between the Enigmata and the Beauty where one force seeks to obscure truth and the other seeks to abstract it into fictions where the history is preserved allegorically in ways similar to how Teyvat’s fictions might convey truths that Irminsul cannot tamper with? Something beautiful is created while the audience is made to understand truth in a roundabout way through media analysis instead of straightforward history. Also, it might mean the switching of Argenti for Dormancy and the memorial to Gallagher in Scorchsand might possess greater significance meaning… WE MUST RETURN TO THE ARCHIVES THERE IS *NONSENSE* TO BE DISSECTED!!!
XD I don't think Gallagher's evil, he just annoys me personally as someone who's trying to gather FACTS XD I haven't watched HUNNY_PP (I try not to watch other theory crafters because if I do, I feel like I just start regurgitating the theories of others rather than my brain actually being creative). But my current thought is that Sleepie IS the history ficitonologist in question. Pathstriders don't have to be humanoid - some of the other emanators (Swarm) even have nonhuman emanators. I have some THOUGHTS about the beauty! She's DEFINITELY connected to Xipe - you know how Xipe has three faces? One is her original face, and the theory is one is Ena, and the third is Idrilla. There are a LOT of followers of Idrilla on Penacony, and there's even a readable (planet of cantacles?) that explains that Penacony acted as a refuge for a doomed planet that followed idrilla. It's so cool!
Gallagher himself might even be a more like a creation, like the celebrity from that one side quest who discovers he’s not real, he’s just made from the memories if the original guy and some devoted fans
This is a really interesting theory to believe that Razalina could be Black Swan! I really like how you tied together the history behind The planet, Razalina, and all the many tiny details and symbolism that could lead to it. But I always thought the narrator for the dream app was her. Especially since near the end it alluded to be a her especially with the quote “the girls long dream has finally reached the end. No one can respond here anymore”. This is possibly support by the fact that she was shattered a second time deep in memorial but was never put back together the second time. Then again this is a three month old video and my personal head canon could be proven false or canon already, but I thought it was something I want to write down. Again, this is a really great video and I really hope to hear more theories from you from the in the future.
You pretty much nailed my theory for that on the head - she was shattered multiple times in the story, so at this point I think the Sticker Book narrator and Black Swan are "shards" or "fragments" of the original Razalina. I'm also pretty sure we'll be learning more about her as we move forward - she's an incredibly interesting character!
I am also SO sus on those 2nd credits but I'm not certain we'd get another full fake-out at this point. I don't know. But something I noticed on the new map area the Radiant Feldspar [SPOILERS] if you use the projector in one of the side rooms you can invite different groups of people for a viewing of your memories. I don't know if what's seen or what's said changes with each option, but if you choose the Astral Express Family, then Welt, Himeko, and March 7th come over to watch with you. NOTABLY, Dan Heng stays behind for data bank work reasons. WELL. One of the slides the memory projector showed was of Dan Heng and Jing Yuan coming in for the rescue against Sunday. Everyone was talking about it as though it actually happened. There was no mention of this having been a dream. At least in the EN dub. And keep in mind that DAN HENG IS NOT THERE TO COMMENT, CONVENIENTLY. But we were shown after the wake-up that those events weren't real. So why were they being treated as though they were? Of course TB would still have memories of them, but they'd know they weren't what actually happened, and were part of Ena's Dream. So I think there's some merit to this idea that we're STILL in a dream, or some hidden reality within the memoria, I don't know, it's very fishy though. That being said, I might've mentioned this in a previous comment on a different video, but I've always felt it was foreshadowed what Gallagher was through the Lesley Dean side quest. I'm not sure it fits in with the idea of him being the Unknown, however, from my personal view. I picture that, just like Lesley Dean's fans, someone or something's memories were so strong and their will so potent that it created a being by Frankensteining together different qualities of others within the gang they wanted to infiltrate. Gallagher says he's 13. Why assume that's a lie? Some fans have associated it with Death (as in the Tarot card), but what if it was 13 years ago that he manifested? What if it was around 13 years ago when the seed of Order was planted in Sunday's mind, when Gopher Wood spoke to Sunday and Robin as children about birds and cages and solidified his plan to usurp the Harmony and resurrect the Order through them? Complete speculation, but the timeline seems like it could be about right, given their approximate ages. So what if, like the Lesley Dean of Penacony, Gallagher is just the shattered fractals of will that something or someone cobbled together in the Dreamscape? To me, given Gallagher's place in the story SUPPORTING the Watchmaker, it doesn't really make much sense to me that he would BE the Unknown, which had historically been pitted against the Watchmaker, and wanted to take Penacony for itself. I think Gallagher, more likely, is a manifestation somehow facilitated by the Enigmata, or perhaps even the Stellaron, in response to the subterfuge of the followers of Order. The quest was called "The Devil in Velvet"...the Devil is always reviled and thought to be evil, but he isn't the bad guy. He's just doing the job he was assigned by God. It would check out if that's why he disappeared after the issues concerning the Legacy were resolved. Just like the false creation of Lesley Dean, they were no longer needed by their creators. It would explain why he's not represented in the cartoon if he didn't exist until 13 years ago. But that's just my theory. I hadn't even clocked Razalina as Black Swan...that was extremely cool and I think it's highly supported by the canon. Her joining up with the Express for the next mission, and deciding our next stop in the latest questline, for sure seems like it's pointing that direction. Her Light Cone even features a rose, though it's blue...which is why I think Black Swan isn't simply Razalina, but a reflection of her created by the memoria of her memories and the power of the Remembrance. Her LC is literally called REFORGED Remembrance. With all the motifs of Princess Mirror being shattered over and over, even the use of different names like "Miss Mirror" and "The Mirror Lady"...it definitely seems to be pointing toward a sort of reincarnation through the Remembrance type situation. The choice of motif being a black swan, something that can symbolize mystery, the unexpected, and the fallacy of assumption. The character is telling us "nothing is impossible until it's been tried". Razalina was a scientist. Black Swan wants to preserve memories. The Path checks out.
This theory makes sense but I always thought roses and mirrors where motifs of the aeons.. mirrors and roses SPECIFICALLY related the idrila the beauty especially since her lore is that she was shattered like a mirror.
@@Spookimooni Xipe existed before Ena and Idrilla died (we learn this is SU) - it's not that they merged together and formed a new aeon - it's that Xipe was already there and they became part of her. As for the propagation, I have a theory on that which I"ll release in another video, but Propagation is NOT RELATED TO XIPE - the thing about merging aeons is they can only merge if the ideas are already adjacent to each other (I think this information is also in Simulated universe. Either that or the Data Bank). Beauty, Harmony, and Order, are already almost synonymous in a lot of contexts, while "propagation" is an entirely seperate concept. The Propagation is still out there and very much alive...and THEY may even be connected to Penacony...but not through Xipe. :) :) :) (I KNOW THINGS)
What if Black Swan is the daughter of Razalina? We were told that we might run into descendants of our predecessors in Penacony so its possible that Black Swan could be one of them.
I've seen a couple people say that. It's definitely a possibility. I don't think it's nearly as likely as Black Swan being Razalina, but... Let's say Razalina being "shattered" had to do with her memories being fragmented, something that Black Swan does say about her mother - her memories were fragmented. Something interesting is, Mirror Princess actually does have a bit of a *sort of* romantic connection with someone in the cartoons (I say sort of, cause it's a cartoon, how far can they actually take it). But that someone is Clockie, aka Mikhail. So let's say Razalina is having trouble with Memory but somewhere in the middle of all of this she and Mikhail get together, she becomes pregnant, and soon after leaves deep into the Memory Zone. She has then Black Swan eventually became a memokeeper as well. The ONE THING this kinda explains is Black Swan's white hair, which she would've gotten from Mikhail. I don't think this is what happened, but it is kind of a nice theory :)

I was right to be hyped about this!!! I had a feeling that there’s more behind Black Swan (as that name in its own is just an alias she gave us), but I’m not gonna lie, I did not connect her to Razalina at all, but this all makes perfect sense!! With everything we know about Mirror Princess and now even Gallagher‘s splash art… this is really cool and I’m a huge fan of the way you present theories like this, makes it much easier to grasp while being very entertaining!! ^w^
I don't watch other peoples theories sadly. If I hear someone else's theories on a subject, it makes it a lot more difficult for me to be creative and make my own so I just don't. :/
holy fuck?? this is so well put together im curious how this will be proven (or disproved or partially proven) since gallagher, or his bartender form, is gone. i am curious though, gallagher has associations with dogs(i think mainly the church grim bc death?) and dogs cant comprehend mirrors/their own reflections, which could also explain why he shattered razzalina? theres also black swan giving the astral express a new place to lay down tracks, and explicitly states that its presence is only revealed by the light from the mirror of the Garden of Recollection (full quote: Black Swan: "A world hidden away from outside observation, its presence only revealed by the light from the mirror of the Garden of Recollection..." from Strangers in a Strange Land) theres also the connection to idrila with all the mirrors and dam. this entire story has more webs than kafka's design
Depends on the theorist, but for me, I find the things that don't make sense, put them in a lineup together, and then ask myself "hmm how could ALL OF THESE THINGS be made to make sense in 1-2 sentences" and so far it's been more right than wrong so...I guess I'm doin ok :)

i can't keep up with hsr lore, so THANK YOU! your videos are a joy, srsly i've been catching your streams too and your theories make so much sense, first aventurine's (i wonder if we will have more info about his plans anytime soon...), now with razalina/black swan, it truly feels like penacony is layer upon layer of mystery, bringing so many different people together that somehow are related to each other, be it by parallels or because they were/are part of its history; today i watched the livestream and i'm even more curious of what will happen (sparkle's gifts might finally make it to the stage), because i think only a few of these mysteries can be truly revealed in just one epilogue, still can't wait for more, hopefully we'll get some answers this time, even if its another plot twist i love hsr, but i can't trust them anymore
Awesome video! I'd like to bring up something I recalled about the 2.2 Trailblaze Mission that I think further proves that you're right, at least about Gallagher! Gallagher being the embodiment of the unknown would make his final scene of the current story make a lot more sense. In it, Gallagher says the following: "Once something fictional is seen through, it ceases to exist." Throughout this scene, it sounds like he's struggling, and I believe that it's implied that Gallagher 'dies' or vanishes (after the 2.2 story quest, you cannot send any messages to Gallagher over text so I believe this makes sense). When playing the story for the first time, I don't think we have all of the information yet to fully understand what happens here. At first, I thought that the fictional thing was Gallagher himself as a character, which is why he disappears. But we never truly learned who or what Gallagher was. So what exactly was the fictional item that we saw through? Well, the catalyst for Gallagher's disappearance happens right before this moment. We learn about Misha's true nature; a Memory Zone Meme that was born and raised in Mikhail's dream bubble. Why is this important though? Well, this is the tidbit of information that the Mirror Princess herself, BLACK SWAN, uses to prove to us that we're currently in a fictional dream. Ena's Dream! When we learn about Misha, the truth about the Order and Ena's false dream begins to come to light. And I believe that is the true moment that marks the beginning of the end of 'Gallagher', a being who embodies the unknown. You mention in the 5th part of your theory that Gallagher, the meme, emerges after Razalina disembarks Penacony. Is it possible that the current appearance of Gallagher, the human that took traits from Family members, could properly manifest in Penacony due to the lies and deception of the Stellaron and the Order? Since Ena's dream was fictional, perhaps it fostered the perfect environment for the meme of the unknown to live in. And now that Ena's dream has been put to rest, Gallagher cannot keep his human form. Maybe we'll get to see Gallagher's Meme form in the future! It's 3:30 AM here (I was literally about to go to bed but this video spurred me to right this comment before I forgot it) so I gotta go to bed. Even if your theory does not come in life this was brilliant. It blew my mind. In continuance to your theory: razalina/blackswan (probably) knew tiernan joined the galaxy rangers. So when she heard a galaxy ranger was in penacony she wanted to find out what happend to tiernan and thus she did the murder tango with acheron and tried to enter her mind to see if she knew anyrhing about him. Does that make sense??
I would also like to add than even tho we dont have a cartoon version of Razalina they used Himeko [a trailblazer, investigator and rose related character] for the cartoon parts. Look at the animation of clockie goes to the ball room with Dr stone , Brother Hanu and he makes a mayhem
Mhm, I did notice that :) Although I'm very curious why they don't just show us Raz. They've made a point of never showing us her eyes, which might be because Black Swan's eyes are so distinctive and would give her away immediately.

I saw who's been speaking to us in the dreamscape pass. I'm so excited to see what's to come with Black Swan in the future. It's still VERY possible that this is correct but either way I'm SUPER excited.

However I was wondering how you'd explain sleepie going berserk in the Scorchsand sidequest after finishing the 2.2 main story if it's supposed to be the same thing as Gallagher, as to me it seems like this is one of the major hints towards Gallagher having moved on and no longer being with us, since we were lead to believe he is the one controlling sleepie. I'm also very curious what your take is on why Gallagher was listed in the credits as being played by "Penacony"
I mean Gallagher is an old Meme, I don't know if History Fictionologists are actually immortal/have longer lifespans than normal persons, as if that's not the case unfortunately the History Fictionologist that created Gallagher is probably dead, as there is quite some centuries since Penacony inception.
I think Sleepie going berserk had more to do with the family catching him and trying to imprison him than anything else, or if Sleepie is Gallagher then it's very possible Sleepie went a bit insane because he was grieving over Mikhail. Of all the lies he told, calling Mikhail a "friend" was not one of them. Also, at this point, I know what we were told, but I don't believe Gallagher was the one controlling Sleepie - Sleepie was the one controlling Gallagher. Sleepie is the History Fictionologist (pathstriders don't have to be human). Sleepie being a meme from the Memory Zone, one of the very few actual "penacony natives" it makes sense to call him "the will of Penacony" (also ironic that, being one of the very few actual natives, the name "Gallagher" means Foreigner)
I don't know about lifespans either, but one of the details about the history fictionologists in the data bank is that history ficitonologists are actually emanators (this could be false information - it would make perfect sense for hoyo to lie in their article about liars). BUT it's my belief that Gallagher is a mask created by a history fictionologist, and the fictionologist in question is actually Sleepie - the Unknown.
This one could still very much be true - Black Swan did and said some things that actually line up with this very well, and she seems to be coming with us to this new planet. We'll find out more about her I'm pretty sure.
I think it has to. They've hyped her up so much and the only significant things she's done for the plot are speak in racially charged riddles and cosplay as Robin

I've personally been a bit miffed by the supposed "ending" of Penacony due to the lack of resolution for Firefly(specifically what her gains are for this, there's 2 that I could think of at the moment), whoever the heck Oswaldo Schnider is (I hope he appears in the main story and we see Boothill kill him), Jade and Topaz entering Penacony/The IPC entering Penacony (since 1-Aventurine's Gemstone got shattered, 2-the head of the Oak clan is seemingly dead),Sparkle and Sampo's masked fool stuff in Penacony and Jarilo-VI (Sampo getting his mask must mean something, and Sparkle assumed it's because something big is going to happen in Jarilo-VI). I assume we will get a major IPC focused arc for the Gemstones and Oswaldo Schnider, and that will be on a seperate planet/ship. Despite that, there's still the IPC entering Penacony. What is Firefly's boon from all this? Either it's Firefly's Entropy Loss Syndrome being cured (unlikely imo), or Firefly joining the AE because we know she doesn't want to just be seen as a weapon or just as a girl. That's why she shows herself detransforming from SAM. Sampo getting his mask back for Jarilo-VI seems like the next major arc will just tie all the previous planets together minus Herta Space Station. Also sidenote-Penacony is really similar to America. Land of dreams, freedom from oppressive (at the time) tyrants (IPC and Great Britain/England), exploration of unknown lands (trailblazing if you will), incredibly expensive/rich. I think a prison planet becoming a land of dreams specifically also reflects back to Sunday's goal of essentially imprisoning everyone inside their dream, albeit with incredibly different intentions. Sunday himself is incredibly religious as you'd expect from his name.
Well we still have one more Penacony update, and seeing as Firefly is on the banner for this update, I'm gonna chance a guess and say this update is gonna have a lot to do with her :) Oswaldo Schneider is a former nameless who joined the IPC. He's the person responsible for the death of Boothill's daughter. AND COINCIDENTALLY, he's also responsible for the death of Aventurine's entire clan. He has a lot to answer for and I want him dead (in a video game, not real life, youtube). ALSO I MADE A SHORT ABOUT PENACONY AND AMERICA - although I actually said it's more like the internet, and I gave a few reasons. You should totally check it out!
Too late for that XD I think I have him pretty much figured out at this point - he's just not meant to be understood. He is Unknown as a concept. But there are a few possibilities I want to explore a bit :)
Tiernan’s name probably was in quotation marks because it was actually a Sin Thirster of Tiernan, not the man himself. It could be something else, but Hoyo loves their “Robin”, “Seele” or whomever in Genshin.

I don't think I've seen anyone point it out (apologies in advance if you had), but what about the famous Swan Lake play? Y'know the ballet music play written by Begichev composed by Tchaikovsky about THE BLACK SWAN turning into a PRINCESS. Though in a, deceiving way. What's more is, this ballet play has various endings, kinda like what Black Swan did show us in the "ending" of the 2.2 quest, maybe it has something to do with the Black Swan = Razalina theory (also note that if you DON'T know the play's plot, the Black Swan is not on the good side from what i recall)
Mhm I know the play. The black swan actually has gained a lot of cultural connotations since that tho. Black Swan and White Swan represent the seductress and madonna respectively. While I don't think the game is going to go into a true retelling of Swan Lake, I do think they're drawing on the symbolism of black swan and white swan - I think Black Swan is the black swan and Robin is the white swan in this. There is some really fishy stuff going on so I'm not sure how it's all going to play out, but I have been thinking about her in the context of the play as well :)
Not seeing people question where Constance falls into all of this. We never heard the entire conversation with her and Black Swan. Also I highly doubt the Duke and Ever Flame Mansion are really gone
Oh yeah, mr everflame is VERY VERY VERY poigniant to black swan's past. If you go back into Black Swan's character trailer and the myriad celestia revisiting of past dreams, she has a third calling card - one is the black swan, one is the princess, and the third is literally duke ifrit. It's possible that before she joined the express she was one of the duke's children. But we don't have enough information to say anything more about that atm.
I got the sense that Gallagher became a History Fictionologist not because he truly wants to obstruct the truth, but mainly because he needed the Enigmata powers to mold the dreamscape. I think the fact that he pretends to be a real person that exists but isn’t is enough to count him as one so he probably doesn’t need to do any more. I feel like he’s more than willing to tell the truth about history, but everything about himself is up in the air. That’s just how I interpreted things.

Well played, the first half of the video had me scratching my head cuz those were mostly facts i already understood. But the Razalina/BS parallels are way too uncanny to be overlooked now. It doesnt help that this wonderful gathering in penacony now has a cowboy with revolver, masked clown, boss stone, the Compass, and someone who can understands memoria, etc. (maybe we should have invited the swarm too lol) Great theory stuff, blew my mind, and attests to the great respect i already had for the writers after the Film Director event and 2.2. Looking forward to more deconstruction of future HSR lore.

This would help solve Black Swan's biggest question ... her motivation. Why is she on Penacony??? At this part, apart of the specifics of the motivations of some of the IPC, everyone's motives are clear and make sense, even Sparkle's.
Also possible, but there are multiple explanations here and we don't know which is the actual reason (this is the issue with like ALL the penacony theories)
There is most definitely a war with the IPC coming. I called that back in 2.0 with Herta being entrusted with the knowledge of the Imaginary Bomb by Chadwick. You know shit's going to hit the fan when Herta gets serious about something. Also called that Boss Stone was likely Diamond or his predecessor. Clockie said "Of all the lowlifes in Dreamville, Stone's the worst. He's a greedy man who wants to drive everyone out of Dreamville so he can have all the precious stones to himself..." I have a feeling each of the Stonehearts has some sort of special power prior to becoming one, and Diamond is collecting those powers for some purpose, no idea what yet. It's also unclear if the current Ten Stonehearts are going to be good guys or bad guys, Topaz and Aventurine have potential to be good, they certainly learned from their respective experiences. Of course we also have Oswaldo Schneider. A Nameless supposedly who created the network the IPC uses universe wide, but we really know nothing of him, other than Boothill wants him dead. I'm going to guess he had something to do with calling to pull the trigger on the Imaginary Bomb despite the casualties it would incur, as Boothill's family died in that explosion if I remember right, explaining his Grudge against the IPC. I could also see an IPC civil war being a thing as well, those with morals vs. those without. If there's one thing I know from Sci-fi about mega corporations.... they're nearly always the bad guys but pose as the good guys(Looking at you Vector from Xenosaga, Sirius Corporation/Azimuth Biotech from Elite Dangerous, and Cerberus from Mass Effect). But I agree, the Penacony grand dream is not over. There are too many loose ends, gaps in time that make no sense, and things that seem to have gone too easily. We have yet to see the "unbelieveable gains" that both Firefly and Trailblazer would reap from Penacony according to Elio as well. And.... well Sparkle. Just Sparkle. There is no way they made her such a nuisance and had her handing out supposedly bombs to EVERYONE for no reason. I swear if they wind up all being "Bang!" guns ala Joker.... I'll both love and hate it. Speaking of the Fools.... Sampo supposedly was getting his Mask back.... and talk of something potentially happening to Jarillo VI; and who was it.... someone seen in Penacony mentioned meeting a drunk Emanator of Aha.... yeah there's a LOT of Penacony left to dive into.
Jeez, I still think that diving to deep into character's splash art is kinda reading too much into it, but I've been proven wrong before at how people pointed at Misha being linked to the watchmaker simply from the keyhole in his eyes. So yeah, this took that art/trailer reading one step further than I'd like, but I can't really argue with that since I've been wrong before lol.
I actually do agree with you on the splash art for most characters, but Gallagher is an exception because they just refuse to give us details about him. With most characters Splash art usually shows us their element, a bit of their personality, and maybe a symbol associated with them. And with most characters, that's nothing, because we get so much from their story. But for Gallagher, we get like...nothing from his story. We don't know what symbols we're supposed to associate with him (most characters have one or two). So the splash art is the only option. You'll notice I only turned to Black Swan's splash art after the symbol associated with her had already been established and it was very clearly a pattern.
great theory! i never would have put all this together! just one correction though, sunday isn't confirmed to be dead. if you talk to robin disguised as someone in the theater you get dialogue about how she doesn't know where he is. not to mention there's a note you can find addressed to sunday somewhere in the dreamscape with a pretty large implication of it being from elio. i think he's probably staying on the down low after all that, and i hope if he is alive, he gets an arc because he's too interesting of a character to just kill off imo
Btw cracked theory: since mirrors and roses are very related to idrila the beauty Rosalina is the beauty herself, and again can be either BS or her mother too After all she disappeared kinda like idrila and as we know aeons can be close with humans so she might joined the express, saw penacony and stayed there so and so aince dreams often are considered "beautiful" she became fascinating with them and started studying memoria. This can tie to the idea that when faced with the meme (enigmata - distoring what beauty means ) and she blessed her companions with her powers
I think the glass/mirror things are more to do with the rememberance in general, and I know that The Enigmata / Mythus was created in The Rememberance / Fuli's own relm which is why I think these things are so connected but I really like your theory. There is another cc who does story stuff named Maevix I think and he made some crackhead theory to do with The Rememberance and the glass shattering effect when we entre battle

XD Ye I was so done with Sunday in that scene XD Yep! I didn't mention it, but Razalina has a purple lock of hair right in the front. It's a darker purple than Black Swan usually wears. But hey - Razalina's hair lightened and so did her clothing, it seems :) AND YES I WAS VERY PLEASED. I SPENT LIKE FIFTEEN MINUTES FREAKING OUT DURING GAMEPLAY.
I also read somewhere that since Memokeepers discard their physical form to become a Memokeeper, Black Swan has that "physical" form because it is what her mother looked like. If your theory of BS = Mirror Princess = Razalina, along with your assumption that Razalina also has powers stemming from the Remembrance, It is possible that when Razalina was "lost" in the memoria, she found herself a new life and had Black Swan, and because of her ties with the Remembrance, Black Swan was interested on being a follower instead of just being a believer like Razalina.
Black Swan = Razalina's daughter and Black Swan = Razalina are both valid theories rn. I still very much believe the theory in the video, but the razalina's daughter theory explains like...one thing as well.

Because there is A LOT of mirror princess mentions, including her supposed origin story (which I think would match up with what we know). The writers are cackling in the background, I bet, but the entire event is just a retelling of Penacony with alternate endings sprinkled in.

I just disagree that he had any nefarious motives in taking the human form, I think it was rather in reaction to the Family's use of the Stelleron to start building Ena's Dream. Because, as we know, Enigmata as an Aeon came into existence to oppose Order...
I actually don't watch other Theorists' videos. I'm sure they're absolutely amazing, but the moment I hear someone else's theory, it becomes more difficult for me to formulate my own theories on the matter. I wish my brain didn't work that way, but I have to deal with it XD I believe he had nefarious motives IN THE BEGINNING, but by the time we get to know him, he's been working Alongside Mikhail for years (because they both have the goal of getting people out of the dream). Both of them have called each other Friends, and Gallagher did so when the only person to hear was himself, so I believe that was the truth.

Black Swan can see Misha. We don't see it in the gameplay itself, but Black Swan has a voiceline for Misha when they're on the same team, and also Black Swan is mentioned in Misha's character story as someone who went on Adventures with him and Clockie. She was there when everyone else left.
Now the signature light cone of black Swan image makes more sense she is holding a crystal /glass rose which always have bothered me it is like out of nowhere, I like that idea quite much ,it will be amazing reveal if BS really is Rosaline 😯🤩❤ (or at least someone closely connected to her, maybe her mother since BS took her mother appearance when she decided to become memo keeper? The glass shards in BS art and abilities strike me more as windows or pictures frames. Now if you want and even more crackpot theory what if Razalina was March 7th... There is definitely a connection between Black Swan and Razalina tho.
I've heard that one too. Honestly, I don't see it. We'll see if more gets revealed, but my theory there has more to do with the fact that I know the Devs love march. I don't think they'd put such a major plot point as March's reveal as a piggyback to a storyline that's already completed its final boss fight. She'll probably get a whole storyline devoted to her, just like they did with Dan Heng's reveal.
@@iamemamaeafter doing the 2.3 story and looking back at this it occurred to me the connections and parallels between Black swan and Razalina may just be foreshadowing of Black Swan and Boothill joining the astral express similar to how they did in Ena's dream. Even the check out side mission the trailblazer counts her among the passengers atm and wonders when they will get an 8th my guess being Boothill.
Anyone can change their appearance in the dream as long as they remain humanoid. But Gallagher gave Mikhail the ability to even morph into the appearance of inanimate objects, and manipulate peoples memories of his appearance. This is something Sparkle can't do.

Mhm. Here's something else interesting - Black Swan is tied to Everflame mansion. I didn't have time or opportunity to talk about it in this video, but RIGHT ALONGSIDE her Black Swan card and Princess card, you often see a card that's literally Duke Ifrit. I have no idea what to make of that.
I think some points were missed. 1.) Galagher probably IS the first Death we encountered at Penacony 2.) He knew what happened to the two trailblazer; Became memokeeper of Garden of Recollection and a Galaxy Ranger. This is why he "called for help" when in fact he wanted them to gather back so he can take revenge. BTW he kept the Mikhail trapped in the Dreamscape and so he can get back to the three at the same time. Why though will he call for help to the Masked Fools and Knights of Beauty? Maybe Sparkle is part of the old penacony and wanted to return everything to its original state hence the button? in this case - Galagher's ally Not sure about Argenti as well. Good theory and consistency with other vids.
The Masked Fools, Mourning Actors and History Fictionologist are part of the starting population of Penacony, as they were the ones who fighted against the IPC to free the Frontier Prison. There's also the fact that Mikhail was close to all of these factions, except the Knights of Beauty, which just sound random, the Mourning Actors are called Crybabies in the Clock is Cartoon and the Masked Fools are called Masked Clowns, I don't remember if the History Fictionologists have an specific name in the cartoon, but Gallagher is the Scammer Cup.
Oh yeah I believe it - he IS the Death meme/Sleepie, but I don't think he was fighting against Mikhail ever. He and Mikhail are pretty explicitly friends, and Gallagher called Mikhail his friend in a scene with him alone, so I believe it was the truth. It's hinted that the reason Gallagher and Mikhail started working together was to get people out of Ena's Dream, cause they were trapped. Mikhail wanted out, Gallagher wanted the people out, so they joined forces. And in the end, it turned out that the only way to end the dream was to get help from the outside, so for the sake of his friend, Gallagher called for help. As for why he invited so many groups - if you remember from the story quest, the people that Mikhail specifically requested were the Astral Express crew, but if they were to invite ONLY the astral express, the Family would get suspicious and would be constantly watching them, making it more difficult for them to help. But if they had a dozen different troublemaking groups to keep an eye on, it would be easier for the Express to actually find the Clues that Gallagher and Mikhail laid out. Argenti is probably just there representing the Knights of Beauty.
Mikhail may not have had any connection to the Knights of beauty, but the Beauty is HIGHLY connected to Penacony. Xipe has three faces - one is her origional face, one is Ena's, and the third, I believe, is Idrilla. I believe she was assimilated by Xipe, just like Ena was. There's other evidence too - Penacony actually served as a safehaven for an entire planet of refugees that served Idrilla (Planet of Cantacles) I've been told about the Scammer Cup, but I need to look more into it. I skimmed Dreamjoy, but I need to go back and look closer.
The main thing with this theory that's giving me hang ups is that its inconsistent with just, how Gallagher actually behaves mostly? Like, yeah he's a History Fic...but he's kinda of a bad one? He's only told one actual lie so far - that he didn't know where the Watchmaker was. He's been otherwise extremely forthcoming with the Astral Express crew. And while we know he's not above holding grudges considering how he talks about the rest of the family, he seemed to be genuinely fond of Mikhail. His final(?) words are spoken when nobody else is around to hear them, and they *sound* pretty sincere. All this to say that I actually do agree with the idea that Gallagher *is* the Unknown Meme that 'Mirror Princess' fought against back in the day. But given her implied mastery over memoria, it seems likely to me that: A) Rather than being tricked and ultimately destroyed, its more likely that Razalina 'bound' Gallagher into her service somehow. After all, Black Swan is directly compared to Razalina through symbolism...but that also means the connection goes both ways. And Black Swan's design is jam packed with 'witch-like' aesthetics, which would make Gallagher something like, Razalina's familiar? B) If Gallagher is responsible for Razalina's name being largely forgotten by present day Penacony, my guess would be that he did that under direct orders from her. Remember, the conspiracy of Order isn't even the main reason the Nameless got involved, Penacony is *still* sinking because the Stellaron is *still* unsealed, and my guess is that to properly plug that hole, we'll have to trace the glass littered steps of a certain magical surveyor. Side Note: Also, listen. I know there's a whole host of reasons why its tempting to just, write Argenti off as not being relevant - but Idrila is literally one of only two Aeons to have any prominent association to mirrors and roses. We also know that the Knights of Beauty lent their aid to Penacony in the past somehow so...I'm just saying, don't count my boy out!
Nah, I never said Gallagher was bad. I just find him REALLY FREAKING ANNOYING. Here's the theory that I didn't have time to include - Sleepie is the Unknown Meme, and he originally fought against Tiernan, Razalina, and Mikhail, but was driven back. Years later, after Razalina left, he returned after creating a mask that he called "Gallagher." Now the Unknown's purpose in returning to Penacony was to find a way to get the Penaconians out of his home again. BUT my thought is that this happened around the same time of Mikhail's falling out with the Family. Everyone got trapped in Ena's dream. Mikhail wanted to be able to get people out and Gallagher wanted people out of the dream so they could get out, and they realized their goals were temporarily aligned and decided to work together. Over time this became a genuine friendship and the two of them trusted each other. I actually really like the "Razalina's Familiar" theory though. I don't think that's whats going on, but I almost wish it was XD AND NO ARGENTI IS VERY IMPORTANT. Ok maybe not SUPER important, but I truly believe Idrilla was absorbed by Xipe. I used to think Gallagher was Tiernan too, but the longer I looked at it, he's more likely to be boothill (but I still am not 100% on that either) Either way. Not Tiernan. And Razalina just really isn't part of the Memory meme. Her background is pretty explicitly laid out in the clockie cartoons and Dreamjoy memoir.

So this was a mindfuck of a video and you have thoroughly convinced me that black swan is most likely Mirror Princess. However, with the Gallagher stuff, I find myself having a hard time agreeing with it. I mostly say this because of two reasons, the end of the Scorchsand Vacation world quest where it is confirmed that Gallagher is dead, and that fact that there is at least some hinting towards Mikhail also being a History Fictionologist himself. I got these ideas from another HSR theorist called HUNNY_PP who has a series of videos on Gallagher throughout each patch. They are quite the Gallagher historian and I highly recommend watching it as I can't fully recount all the points and evidence they made in this one comment. Gallagher is meant to be unsolvable, so I'm sure that all of your speculations as well as HUNNY_PP's are both equally correct and incorrect. Keep making the epic HSR content! See, it's not exactly confirmed that Gallagher's dead. But we won't see "Gallagher" as we knew him anymore. My thought has been that "Sleepie" is the history fictionologist behind Gallagher. There is a real possibility, especially after researching for this video, that Gallagher was just made by Mikhail (it would explain the resemblance to Tiernan, for sure), but it doesn't explain all the links to Razalina (and there are actually even MORE links to Razalina that I found after the video). Gallagher is truly the most frustrating character to try and theorize for in my book. I've gone through nearly everything to try and find answers, and the "Unknown" theory is the thing that seems to cover the most ground and answer the most questions so far. I've heard a lot about HUNNY_PP, but I actually try to avoid watching other theorists. If I hear someone else's theories on a subject, it becomes very difficult for me to form an independent opinion of the situation and separate their thoughts from mine, so I just stay away from it entirely. I'm sure they're amazing tho given the sheer amount of people who've recommended them XD

Because I vaguely remember someone (probably Gallagher so take this with a metric ton of salt) saying that the reason history fictionologists do what they do is to open up more possibilities for the future by preventing people from accurately repeating the past. @@jericho5619 No problem! I like responding to comments :) As for the history ficitonologist goals, I can't really say. When it comes to ascertaining a group's goals, I've always found it easier to figure them out based on what I see multiple people in the group doing (for example the fools - can't learn ANYTHING by reading about them, but seeing how sparkle/sampo/even Aventurine operate gives us a lot of clues), but the problem here is we only know ONE fictionologist, so we can't actually get any clues by looking at how they operate compared to each other. When we meet other Fictionologists in the future, I'll definitely be doing some comparisons. But to be honest, I'm not sure what confounding the past would do to keep people from repeating it. In my experience, the best way to make sure people repeat the past is to hide the past so they can't learn from it. The goal that makes the most sense to me personally for Mythus is he's sort of an Anti-intelligencia. It's not that he destroys the truth. He just hides it so only the "worthy" can find it. The Intelligencia guild (read: Dr. Ratio) believe that everyone is worthy of knowledge and that "ignorance is a malady that must be cleansed". Meanwhile Mythus is over here saying "the meaning of life is in this crossword puzzle. If you want it, you have to work for it. Given we've only met one of his followers so far, my understanding is VERY limited, but this is what I have at the moment. Mythus is connected to metaphor in my mind more than he is to actual lies.

Dormancy is the History Ficitonologist and Gallagher is its mask. If you go to the soulglad scorchsand studios or whatevertheheck its called, all it will say is "Gal-lag-her". A lot of people say it's calling for gallagher or angry at gallagher, but I think what it's trying to do is tell us that it is Gallagher.

Contrast with Parts 2 & 3, that describe Black Swan in life as questioning the world and looking for stories, no cards in sight, up until she becomes a Memokeeper.

Reason he was referred as “Tiernan” was because what Acheron met was merely a Sin Thirster. Sin Thirsters are the shadows of the regrets and unfulfilled wishes of dead path striders that emerge from IX. That’s why the “Tiernan” Acheron met mainly talked and was driven about Penecony and his friends there, as well as helping other sin thirsters (particularly Galaxy Rangers that died in the battle against Zulo) move on because he wished he could help his friend and wished he could helped his fallen gallaxy rangers.

God that whole section with Black Swans trailer music playing to add maximum drama to the reveal of all the connections between Black Swan and Rosalina was just PEAK editing! The emphatic images on the beats like the Express slicing across the screen, the rising tension as you built up to tje main point before going into the evidence, it was so perfect! I keep rewinding it to watch again 😅

Oh also, you didn't misunderstand. We've known Acheron wants to kill Nihility ever sense her Myriad Celestia. That's the goal of Self-Annihilators in general, but Acheron might just understand enough to succeed.
Killing the Nihility is moreso the goal of the Doctors of Chaos (people who were inspired by rather than being dejected/degraded by Nihility) rather than all Self Annihilators. A Doctor of Chaos even appears in Acheron’s character story, seemingly researching how she was able to resist the Nihility despite being so intertwined with it

Something else regarding shattered glass: the Garden of Recollection person hiding out on the Express for the Forgotten Hall is hanging out in a shattered mirror. So yeah, that's a thing.
Okay, after religiously watching several essays from what is most likely the foremost Gallagher expert HUNNY_PP, I am somewhat miffed by all this Gallagher/Enigmata hate but I’ll let things play out maybe maybe now possibly idk.
What I will say is that there is a distinct possibility that there is a fictionologist still on Penacony since Gallagher was made by someone else and then met Mikhail. My bet is currently on Mr Rasas from the Scortchsand Vacation quest, but we shall see…

I haven't watched HUNNY_PP (I try not to watch other theory crafters because if I do, I feel like I just start regurgitating the theories of others rather than my brain actually being creative). But my current thought is that Sleepie IS the history ficitonologist in question. Pathstriders don't have to be humanoid - some of the other emanators (Swarm) even have nonhuman emanators.
I have some THOUGHTS about the beauty! She's DEFINITELY connected to Xipe - you know how Xipe has three faces? One is her original face, and the theory is one is Ena, and the third is Idrilla. There are a LOT of followers of Idrilla on Penacony, and there's even a readable (planet of cantacles?) that explains that Penacony acted as a refuge for a doomed planet that followed idrilla. It's so cool!
Gallagher himself might even be a more like a creation, like the celebrity from that one side quest who discovers he’s not real, he’s just made from the memories if the original guy and some devoted fans

This is a really interesting theory to believe that Razalina could be Black Swan! I really like how you tied together the history behind The planet, Razalina, and all the many tiny details and symbolism that could lead to it. But I always thought the narrator for the dream app was her. Especially since near the end it alluded to be a her especially with the quote “the girls long dream has finally reached the end. No one can respond here anymore”. This is possibly support by the fact that she was shattered a second time deep in memorial but was never put back together the second time. Then again this is a three month old video and my personal head canon could be proven false or canon already, but I thought it was something I want to write down. Again, this is a really great video and I really hope to hear more theories from you from the in the future.
You pretty much nailed my theory for that on the head - she was shattered multiple times in the story, so at this point I think the Sticker Book narrator and Black Swan are "shards" or "fragments" of the original Razalina. I'm also pretty sure we'll be learning more about her as we move forward - she's an incredibly interesting character!
I am also SO sus on those 2nd credits but I'm not certain we'd get another full fake-out at this point. I don't know. But something I noticed on the new map area the Radiant Feldspar [SPOILERS] if you use the projector in one of the side rooms you can invite different groups of people for a viewing of your memories. I don't know if what's seen or what's said changes with each option, but if you choose the Astral Express Family, then Welt, Himeko, and March 7th come over to watch with you. NOTABLY, Dan Heng stays behind for data bank work reasons. WELL. One of the slides the memory projector showed was of Dan Heng and Jing Yuan coming in for the rescue against Sunday. Everyone was talking about it as though it actually happened. There was no mention of this having been a dream. At least in the EN dub. And keep in mind that DAN HENG IS NOT THERE TO COMMENT, CONVENIENTLY. But we were shown after the wake-up that those events weren't real. So why were they being treated as though they were? Of course TB would still have memories of them, but they'd know they weren't what actually happened, and were part of Ena's Dream. So I think there's some merit to this idea that we're STILL in a dream, or some hidden reality within the memoria, I don't know, it's very fishy though.
That being said, I might've mentioned this in a previous comment on a different video, but I've always felt it was foreshadowed what Gallagher was through the Lesley Dean side quest. I'm not sure it fits in with the idea of him being the Unknown, however, from my personal view. I picture that, just like Lesley Dean's fans, someone or something's memories were so strong and their will so potent that it created a being by Frankensteining together different qualities of others within the gang they wanted to infiltrate. Gallagher says he's 13. Why assume that's a lie? Some fans have associated it with Death (as in the Tarot card), but what if it was 13 years ago that he manifested? What if it was around 13 years ago when the seed of Order was planted in Sunday's mind, when Gopher Wood spoke to Sunday and Robin as children about birds and cages and solidified his plan to usurp the Harmony and resurrect the Order through them? Complete speculation, but the timeline seems like it could be about right, given their approximate ages. So what if, like the Lesley Dean of Penacony, Gallagher is just the shattered fractals of will that something or someone cobbled together in the Dreamscape? To me, given Gallagher's place in the story SUPPORTING the Watchmaker, it doesn't really make much sense to me that he would BE the Unknown, which had historically been pitted against the Watchmaker, and wanted to take Penacony for itself. I think Gallagher, more likely, is a manifestation somehow facilitated by the Enigmata, or perhaps even the Stellaron, in response to the subterfuge of the followers of Order. The quest was called "The Devil in Velvet"...the Devil is always reviled and thought to be evil, but he isn't the bad guy. He's just doing the job he was assigned by God. It would check out if that's why he disappeared after the issues concerning the Legacy were resolved. Just like the false creation of Lesley Dean, they were no longer needed by their creators. It would explain why he's not represented in the cartoon if he didn't exist until 13 years ago.
But that's just my theory. I hadn't even clocked Razalina as Black Swan...that was extremely cool and I think it's highly supported by the canon. Her joining up with the Express for the next mission, and deciding our next stop in the latest questline, for sure seems like it's pointing that direction. Her Light Cone even features a rose, though it's blue...which is why I think Black Swan isn't simply Razalina, but a reflection of her created by the memoria of her memories and the power of the Remembrance. Her LC is literally called REFORGED Remembrance. With all the motifs of Princess Mirror being shattered over and over, even the use of different names like "Miss Mirror" and "The Mirror Lady"...it definitely seems to be pointing toward a sort of reincarnation through the Remembrance type situation. The choice of motif being a black swan, something that can symbolize mystery, the unexpected, and the fallacy of assumption. The character is telling us "nothing is impossible until it's been tried". Razalina was a scientist. Black Swan wants to preserve memories. The Path checks out.

This theory makes sense but I always thought roses and mirrors where motifs of the aeons.. mirrors and roses SPECIFICALLY related the idrila the beauty especially since her lore is that she was shattered like a mirror.

@@Spookimooni Xipe existed before Ena and Idrilla died (we learn this is SU) - it's not that they merged together and formed a new aeon - it's that Xipe was already there and they became part of her.
As for the propagation, I have a theory on that which I"ll release in another video, but Propagation is NOT RELATED TO XIPE - the thing about merging aeons is they can only merge if the ideas are already adjacent to each other (I think this information is also in Simulated universe. Either that or the Data Bank). Beauty, Harmony, and Order, are already almost synonymous in a lot of contexts, while "propagation" is an entirely seperate concept. The Propagation is still out there and very much alive...and THEY may even be connected to Penacony...but not through Xipe. :) :) :) (I KNOW THINGS)
What if Black Swan is the daughter of Razalina? We were told that we might run into descendants of our predecessors in Penacony so its possible that Black Swan could be one of them.

Let's say Razalina being "shattered" had to do with her memories being fragmented, something that Black Swan does say about her mother - her memories were fragmented. Something interesting is, Mirror Princess actually does have a bit of a *sort of* romantic connection with someone in the cartoons (I say sort of, cause it's a cartoon, how far can they actually take it). But that someone is Clockie, aka Mikhail. So let's say Razalina is having trouble with Memory but somewhere in the middle of all of this she and Mikhail get together, she becomes pregnant, and soon after leaves deep into the Memory Zone. She has then Black Swan eventually became a memokeeper as well. The ONE THING this kinda explains is Black Swan's white hair, which she would've gotten from Mikhail.
I don't think this is what happened, but it is kind of a nice theory :)

I was right to be hyped about this!!! I had a feeling that there’s more behind Black Swan (as that name in its own is just an alias she gave us), but I’m not gonna lie, I did not connect her to Razalina at all, but this all makes perfect sense!! With everything we know about Mirror Princess and now even Gallagher‘s splash art… this is really cool and I’m a huge fan of the way you present theories like this, makes it much easier to grasp while being very entertaining!! ^w^

I don't watch other peoples theories sadly. If I hear someone else's theories on a subject, it makes it a lot more difficult for me to be creative and make my own so I just don't. :/
holy fuck?? this is so well put together im curious how this will be proven (or disproved or partially proven) since gallagher, or his bartender form, is gone. i am curious though, gallagher has associations with dogs(i think mainly the church grim bc death?) and dogs cant comprehend mirrors/their own reflections, which could also explain why he shattered razzalina? theres also black swan giving the astral express a new place to lay down tracks, and explicitly states that its presence is only revealed by the light from the mirror of the Garden of Recollection (full quote: Black Swan: "A world hidden away from outside observation, its presence only revealed by the light from the mirror of the Garden of Recollection..." from Strangers in a Strange Land)

Depends on the theorist, but for me, I find the things that don't make sense, put them in a lineup together, and then ask myself "hmm how could ALL OF THESE THINGS be made to make sense in 1-2 sentences" and so far it's been more right than wrong so...I guess I'm doin ok :)

i can't keep up with hsr lore, so THANK YOU! your videos are a joy, srsly i've been catching your streams too and your theories make so much sense, first aventurine's (i wonder if we will have more info about his plans anytime soon...), now with razalina/black swan, it truly feels like penacony is layer upon layer of mystery, bringing so many different people together that somehow are related to each other, be it by parallels or because they were/are part of its history; today i watched the livestream and i'm even more curious of what will happen (sparkle's gifts might finally make it to the stage), because i think only a few of these mysteries can be truly revealed in just one epilogue, still can't wait for more, hopefully we'll get some answers this time, even if its another plot twist i love hsr, but i can't trust them anymore
Awesome video! I'd like to bring up something I recalled about the 2.2 Trailblaze Mission that I think further proves that you're right, at least about Gallagher!
Gallagher being the embodiment of the unknown would make his final scene of the current story make a lot more sense. In it, Gallagher says the following: "Once something fictional is seen through, it ceases to exist." Throughout this scene, it sounds like he's struggling, and I believe that it's implied that Gallagher 'dies' or vanishes (after the 2.2 story quest, you cannot send any messages to Gallagher over text so I believe this makes sense).
When playing the story for the first time, I don't think we have all of the information yet to fully understand what happens here. At first, I thought that the fictional thing was Gallagher himself as a character, which is why he disappears. But we never truly learned who or what Gallagher was. So what exactly was the fictional item that we saw through?
Well, the catalyst for Gallagher's disappearance happens right before this moment. We learn about Misha's true nature; a Memory Zone Meme that was born and raised in Mikhail's dream bubble. Why is this important though? Well, this is the tidbit of information that the Mirror Princess herself, BLACK SWAN, uses to prove to us that we're currently in a fictional dream. Ena's Dream! When we learn about Misha, the truth about the Order and Ena's false dream begins to come to light. And I believe that is the true moment that marks the beginning of the end of 'Gallagher', a being who embodies the unknown.
You mention in the 5th part of your theory that Gallagher, the meme, emerges after Razalina disembarks Penacony. Is it possible that the current appearance of Gallagher, the human that took traits from Family members, could properly manifest in Penacony due to the lies and deception of the Stellaron and the Order? Since Ena's dream was fictional, perhaps it fostered the perfect environment for the meme of the unknown to live in. And now that Ena's dream has been put to rest, Gallagher cannot keep his human form. Maybe we'll get to see Gallagher's Meme form in the future!

Even if your theory does not come in life this was brilliant. It blew my mind. In continuance to your theory: razalina/blackswan (probably) knew tiernan joined the galaxy rangers. So when she heard a galaxy ranger was in penacony she wanted to find out what happend to tiernan and thus she did the murder tango with acheron and tried to enter her mind to see if she knew anyrhing about him. Does that make sense??
I would also like to add than even tho we dont have a cartoon version of Razalina they used Himeko [a trailblazer, investigator and rose related character] for the cartoon parts. Look at the animation of clockie goes to the ball room with Dr stone , Brother Hanu and he makes a mayhem

However I was wondering how you'd explain sleepie going berserk in the Scorchsand sidequest after finishing the 2.2 main story if it's supposed to be the same thing as Gallagher, as to me it seems like this is one of the major hints towards Gallagher having moved on and no longer being with us, since we were lead to believe he is the one controlling sleepie. I'm also very curious what your take is on why Gallagher was listed in the credits as being played by "Penacony"
I mean Gallagher is an old Meme, I don't know if History Fictionologists are actually immortal/have longer lifespans than normal persons, as if that's not the case unfortunately the History Fictionologist that created Gallagher is probably dead, as there is quite some centuries since Penacony inception.
I think Sleepie going berserk had more to do with the family catching him and trying to imprison him than anything else, or if Sleepie is Gallagher then it's very possible Sleepie went a bit insane because he was grieving over Mikhail. Of all the lies he told, calling Mikhail a "friend" was not one of them. Also, at this point, I know what we were told, but I don't believe Gallagher was the one controlling Sleepie - Sleepie was the one controlling Gallagher. Sleepie is the History Fictionologist (pathstriders don't have to be human). Sleepie being a meme from the Memory Zone, one of the very few actual "penacony natives" it makes sense to call him "the will of Penacony" (also ironic that, being one of the very few actual natives, the name "Gallagher" means Foreigner)
I don't know about lifespans either, but one of the details about the history fictionologists in the data bank is that history ficitonologists are actually emanators (this could be false information - it would make perfect sense for hoyo to lie in their article about liars). BUT it's my belief that Gallagher is a mask created by a history fictionologist, and the fictionologist in question is actually Sleepie - the Unknown.
Coming back to all these theories post 2.3 is... very, very sad.

This one could still very much be true - Black Swan did and said some things that actually line up with this very well, and she seems to be coming with us to this new planet. We'll find out more about her I'm pretty sure.

I've personally been a bit miffed by the supposed "ending" of Penacony due to the lack of resolution for Firefly(specifically what her gains are for this, there's 2 that I could think of at the moment), whoever the heck Oswaldo Schnider is (I hope he appears in the main story and we see Boothill kill him), Jade and Topaz entering Penacony/The IPC entering Penacony (since 1-Aventurine's Gemstone got shattered, 2-the head of the Oak clan is seemingly dead),Sparkle and Sampo's masked fool stuff in Penacony and Jarilo-VI (Sampo getting his mask must mean something, and Sparkle assumed it's because something big is going to happen in Jarilo-VI).
I assume we will get a major IPC focused arc for the Gemstones and Oswaldo Schnider, and that will be on a seperate planet/ship. Despite that, there's still the IPC entering Penacony. What is Firefly's boon from all this? Either it's Firefly's Entropy Loss Syndrome being cured (unlikely imo), or Firefly joining the AE because we know she doesn't want to just be seen as a weapon or just as a girl. That's why she shows herself detransforming from SAM.
Sampo getting his mask back for Jarilo-VI seems like the next major arc will just tie all the previous planets together minus Herta Space Station.
Also sidenote-Penacony is really similar to America. Land of dreams, freedom from oppressive (at the time) tyrants (IPC and Great Britain/England), exploration of unknown lands (trailblazing if you will), incredibly expensive/rich. I think a prison planet becoming a land of dreams specifically also reflects back to Sunday's goal of essentially imprisoning everyone inside their dream, albeit with incredibly different intentions. Sunday himself is incredibly religious as you'd expect from his name.
Well we still have one more Penacony update, and seeing as Firefly is on the banner for this update, I'm gonna chance a guess and say this update is gonna have a lot to do with her :)
Oswaldo Schneider is a former nameless who joined the IPC. He's the person responsible for the death of Boothill's daughter. AND COINCIDENTALLY, he's also responsible for the death of Aventurine's entire clan. He has a lot to answer for and I want him dead (in a video game, not real life, youtube).

Tiernan’s name probably was in quotation marks because it was actually a Sin Thirster of Tiernan, not the man himself. It could be something else, but Hoyo loves their “Robin”, “Seele” or whomever in Genshin.

I don't think I've seen anyone point it out (apologies in advance if you had), but what about the famous Swan Lake play? Y'know the ballet music play written by Begichev composed by Tchaikovsky about THE BLACK SWAN turning into a PRINCESS. Though in a, deceiving way. What's more is, this ballet play has various endings, kinda like what Black Swan did show us in the "ending" of the 2.2 quest, maybe it has something to do with the Black Swan = Razalina theory (also note that if you DON'T know the play's plot, the Black Swan is not on the good side from what i recall)
Mhm I know the play. The black swan actually has gained a lot of cultural connotations since that tho. Black Swan and White Swan represent the seductress and madonna respectively. While I don't think the game is going to go into a true retelling of Swan Lake, I do think they're drawing on the symbolism of black swan and white swan - I think Black Swan is the black swan and Robin is the white swan in this. There is some really fishy stuff going on so I'm not sure how it's all going to play out, but I have been thinking about her in the context of the play as well :)

Oh yeah, mr everflame is VERY VERY VERY poigniant to black swan's past. If you go back into Black Swan's character trailer and the myriad celestia revisiting of past dreams, she has a third calling card - one is the black swan, one is the princess, and the third is literally duke ifrit. It's possible that before she joined the express she was one of the duke's children. But we don't have enough information to say anything more about that atm.
Penacony is my favourite fever dream
I got the sense that Gallagher became a History Fictionologist not because he truly wants to obstruct the truth, but mainly because he needed the Enigmata powers to mold the dreamscape. I think the fact that he pretends to be a real person that exists but isn’t is enough to count him as one so he probably doesn’t need to do any more. I feel like he’s more than willing to tell the truth about history, but everything about himself is up in the air. That’s just how I interpreted things.

Well played, the first half of the video had me scratching my head cuz those were mostly facts i already understood. But the Razalina/BS parallels are way too uncanny to be overlooked now.
It doesnt help that this wonderful gathering in penacony now has a cowboy with revolver, masked clown, boss stone, the Compass, and someone who can understands memoria, etc. (maybe we should have invited the swarm too lol)

This would help solve Black Swan's biggest question ... her motivation. Why is she on Penacony??? At this part, apart of the specifics of the motivations of some of the IPC, everyone's motives are clear and make sense, even Sparkle's.

There is most definitely a war with the IPC coming. I called that back in 2.0 with Herta being entrusted with the knowledge of the Imaginary Bomb by Chadwick. You know shit's going to hit the fan when Herta gets serious about something. Also called that Boss Stone was likely Diamond or his predecessor. Clockie said "Of all the lowlifes in Dreamville, Stone's the worst. He's a greedy man who wants to drive everyone out of Dreamville so he can have all the precious stones to himself..." I have a feeling each of the Stonehearts has some sort of special power prior to becoming one, and Diamond is collecting those powers for some purpose, no idea what yet. It's also unclear if the current Ten Stonehearts are going to be good guys or bad guys, Topaz and Aventurine have potential to be good, they certainly learned from their respective experiences.
Of course we also have Oswaldo Schneider. A Nameless supposedly who created the network the IPC uses universe wide, but we really know nothing of him, other than Boothill wants him dead. I'm going to guess he had something to do with calling to pull the trigger on the Imaginary Bomb despite the casualties it would incur, as Boothill's family died in that explosion if I remember right, explaining his Grudge against the IPC. I could also see an IPC civil war being a thing as well, those with morals vs. those without. If there's one thing I know from Sci-fi about mega corporations.... they're nearly always the bad guys but pose as the good guys(Looking at you Vector from Xenosaga, Sirius Corporation/Azimuth Biotech from Elite Dangerous, and Cerberus from Mass Effect).
But I agree, the Penacony grand dream is not over. There are too many loose ends, gaps in time that make no sense, and things that seem to have gone too easily. We have yet to see the "unbelieveable gains" that both Firefly and Trailblazer would reap from Penacony according to Elio as well. And.... well Sparkle. Just Sparkle. There is no way they made her such a nuisance and had her handing out supposedly bombs to EVERYONE for no reason. I swear if they wind up all being "Bang!" guns ala Joker.... I'll both love and hate it. Speaking of the Fools.... Sampo supposedly was getting his Mask back.... and talk of something potentially happening to Jarillo VI; and who was it.... someone seen in Penacony mentioned meeting a drunk Emanator of Aha.... yeah there's a LOT of Penacony left to dive into.
Jeez, I still think that diving to deep into character's splash art is kinda reading too much into it, but I've been proven wrong before at how people pointed at Misha being linked to the watchmaker simply from the keyhole in his eyes. So yeah, this took that art/trailer reading one step further than I'd like, but I can't really argue with that since I've been wrong before lol.
I actually do agree with you on the splash art for most characters, but Gallagher is an exception because they just refuse to give us details about him. With most characters Splash art usually shows us their element, a bit of their personality, and maybe a symbol associated with them. And with most characters, that's nothing, because we get so much from their story. But for Gallagher, we get like...nothing from his story. We don't know what symbols we're supposed to associate with him (most characters have one or two). So the splash art is the only option.
You'll notice I only turned to Black Swan's splash art after the symbol associated with her had already been established and it was very clearly a pattern.
great theory! i never would have put all this together! just one correction though, sunday isn't confirmed to be dead. if you talk to robin disguised as someone in the theater you get dialogue about how she doesn't know where he is. not to mention there's a note you can find addressed to sunday somewhere in the dreamscape with a pretty large implication of it being from elio. i think he's probably staying on the down low after all that, and i hope if he is alive, he gets an arc because he's too interesting of a character to just kill off imo

After all she disappeared kinda like idrila and as we know aeons can be close with humans so she might joined the express, saw penacony and stayed there so and so aince dreams often are considered "beautiful" she became fascinating with them and started studying memoria. This can tie to the idea that when faced with the meme (enigmata - distoring what beauty means ) and she blessed her companions with her powers

I think the glass/mirror things are more to do with the rememberance in general, and I know that The Enigmata / Mythus was created in The Rememberance / Fuli's own relm which is why I think these things are so connected but I really like your theory. There is another cc who does story stuff named Maevix I think and he made some crackhead theory to do with The Rememberance and the glass shattering effect when we entre battle

I also read somewhere that since Memokeepers discard their physical form to become a Memokeeper, Black Swan has that "physical" form because it is what her mother looked like. If your theory of BS = Mirror Princess = Razalina, along with your assumption that Razalina also has powers stemming from the Remembrance, It is possible that when Razalina was "lost" in the memoria, she found herself a new life and had Black Swan, and because of her ties with the Remembrance, Black Swan was interested on being a follower instead of just being a believer like Razalina.
Black Swan = Razalina's daughter and Black Swan = Razalina are both valid theories rn. I still very much believe the theory in the video, but the razalina's daughter theory explains like...one thing as well.

I just disagree that he had any nefarious motives in taking the human form, I think it was rather in reaction to the Family's use of the Stelleron to start building Ena's Dream. I believe he had nefarious motives IN THE BEGINNING, but by the time we get to know him, he's been working Alongside Mikhail for years (because they both have the goal of getting people out of the dream). Both of them have called each other Friends, and Gallagher did so when the only person to hear was himself, so I believe that was the truth.

Black Swan can see Misha. We don't see it in the gameplay itself, but Black Swan has a voiceline for Misha when they're on the same team, and also Black Swan is mentioned in Misha's character story as someone who went on Adventures with him and Clockie. She was there when everyone else left.

I've heard that one too. Honestly, I don't see it. We'll see if more gets revealed, but my theory there has more to do with the fact that I know the Devs love march. I don't think they'd put such a major plot point as March's reveal as a piggyback to a storyline that's already completed its final boss fight. She'll probably get a whole storyline devoted to her, just like they did with Dan Heng's reveal.

Even the check out side mission the trailblazer counts her among the passengers atm and wonders when they will get an 8th my guess being Boothill.

Anyone can change their appearance in the dream as long as they remain humanoid. But Gallagher gave Mikhail the ability to even morph into the appearance of inanimate objects, and manipulate peoples memories of his appearance. This is something Sparkle can't do.

Mhm. Here's something else interesting - Black Swan is tied to Everflame mansion. I didn't have time or opportunity to talk about it in this video, but RIGHT ALONGSIDE her Black Swan card and Princess card, you often see a card that's literally Duke Ifrit. I have no idea what to make of that.
I think some points were missed.
1.) Galagher probably IS the first Death we encountered at Penacony
2.) He knew what happened to the two trailblazer;
Became memokeeper of Garden of Recollection and a Galaxy Ranger. This is why he "called for help" when in fact he wanted them to gather back so he can take revenge. BTW he kept the Mikhail trapped in the Dreamscape and so he can get back to the three at the same time.
Why though will he call for help to the Masked Fools and Knights of Beauty?
Maybe Sparkle is part of the old penacony and wanted to return everything to its original state hence the button? in this case - Galagher's ally

The Masked Fools, Mourning Actors and History Fictionologist are part of the starting population of Penacony, as they were the ones who fighted against the IPC to free the Frontier Prison.
There's also the fact that Mikhail was close to all of these factions, except the Knights of Beauty, which just sound random, the Mourning Actors are called Crybabies in the Clock is Cartoon and the Masked Fools are called Masked Clowns, I don't remember if the History Fictionologists have an specific name in the cartoon, but Gallagher is the Scammer Cup.
Oh yeah I believe it - he IS the Death meme/Sleepie, but I don't think he was fighting against Mikhail ever. He and Mikhail are pretty explicitly friends, and Gallagher called Mikhail his friend in a scene with him alone, so I believe it was the truth. It's hinted that the reason Gallagher and Mikhail started working together was to get people out of Ena's Dream, cause they were trapped. Mikhail wanted out, Gallagher wanted the people out, so they joined forces. And in the end, it turned out that the only way to end the dream was to get help from the outside, so for the sake of his friend, Gallagher called for help.
As for why he invited so many groups - if you remember from the story quest, the people that Mikhail specifically requested were the Astral Express crew, but if they were to invite ONLY the astral express, the Family would get suspicious and would be constantly watching them, making it more difficult for them to help. But if they had a dozen different troublemaking groups to keep an eye on, it would be easier for the Express to actually find the Clues that Gallagher and Mikhail laid out.
Argenti is probably just there representing the Knights of Beauty.
Mikhail may not have had any connection to the Knights of beauty, but the Beauty is HIGHLY connected to Penacony.
Xipe has three faces - one is her origional face, one is Ena's, and the third, I believe, is Idrilla. I believe she was assimilated by Xipe, just like Ena was. There's other evidence too - Penacony actually served as a safehaven for an entire planet of refugees that served Idrilla (Planet of Cantacles)
I've been told about the Scammer Cup, but I need to look more into it. I skimmed Dreamjoy, but I need to go back and look closer.
The main thing with this theory that's giving me hang ups is that its inconsistent with just, how Gallagher actually behaves mostly? Like, yeah he's a History Fic...but he's kinda of a bad one? He's only told one actual lie so far - that he didn't know where the Watchmaker was. He's been otherwise extremely forthcoming with the Astral Express crew. And while we know he's not above holding grudges considering how he talks about the rest of the family, he seemed to be genuinely fond of Mikhail. His final(?) words are spoken when nobody else is around to hear them, and they *sound* pretty sincere.
All this to say that I actually do agree with the idea that Gallagher *is* the Unknown Meme that 'Mirror Princess' fought against back in the day. But given her implied mastery over memoria, it seems likely to me that:
A) Rather than being tricked and ultimately destroyed, its more likely that Razalina 'bound' Gallagher into her service somehow. After all, Black Swan is directly compared to Razalina through symbolism...but that also means the connection goes both ways. And Black Swan's design is jam packed with 'witch-like' aesthetics, which would make Gallagher something like, Razalina's familiar?
B) If Gallagher is responsible for Razalina's name being largely forgotten by present day Penacony, my guess would be that he did that under direct orders from her. Remember, the conspiracy of Order isn't even the main reason the Nameless got involved, Penacony is *still* sinking because the Stellaron is *still* unsealed, and my guess is that to properly plug that hole, we'll have to trace the glass littered steps of a certain magical surveyor.
Side Note: Also, listen. I know there's a whole host of reasons why its tempting to just, write Argenti off as not being relevant - but Idrila is literally one of only two Aeons to have any prominent association to mirrors and roses. We also know that the Knights of Beauty lent their aid to Penacony in the past somehow so...I'm just saying, don't count my boy out!

Here's the theory that I didn't have time to include - Sleepie is the Unknown Meme, and he originally fought against Tiernan, Razalina, and Mikhail, but was driven back. Years later, after Razalina left, he returned after creating a mask that he called "Gallagher." Now the Unknown's purpose in returning to Penacony was to find a way to get the Penaconians out of his home again. BUT my thought is that this happened around the same time of Mikhail's falling out with the Family. Everyone got trapped in Ena's dream. Mikhail wanted to be able to get people out and Gallagher wanted people out of the dream so they could get out, and they realized their goals were temporarily aligned and decided to work together. Over time this became a genuine friendship and the two of them trusted each other.
I actually really like the "Razalina's Familiar" theory though. I don't think that's whats going on, but I almost wish it was XD

Rn we have too little info on Idrila, but their path feels really close to Harmony, with a little mixture of preservation (and maybe some rememberance?). Yh it just seems so strange how few things have been resloved at the end of the story.
So this was a mindfuck of a video and you have thoroughly convinced me that black swan is most likely Mirror Princess. However, with the Gallagher stuff, I find myself having a hard time agreeing with it. I mostly say this because of two reasons, the end of the Scorchsand Vacation world quest where it is confirmed that Gallagher is dead, and that fact that there is at least some hinting towards Mikhail also being a History Fictionologist himself. I got these ideas from another HSR theorist called HUNNY_PP who has a series of videos on Gallagher throughout each patch. They are quite the Gallagher historian and I highly recommend watching it as I can't fully recount all the points and evidence they made in this one comment. Gallagher is meant to be unsolvable, so I'm sure that all of your speculations as well as HUNNY_PP's are both equally correct and incorrect. Keep making the epic HSR content!

See, it's not exactly confirmed that Gallagher's dead. But we won't see "Gallagher" as we knew him anymore. My thought has been that "Sleepie" is the history fictionologist behind Gallagher. There is a real possibility, especially after researching for this video, that Gallagher was just made by Mikhail (it would explain the resemblance to Tiernan, for sure), but it doesn't explain all the links to Razalina (and there are actually even MORE links to Razalina that I found after the video). Gallagher is truly the most frustrating character to try and theorize for in my book. I've gone through nearly everything to try and find answers, and the "Unknown" theory is the thing that seems to cover the most ground and answer the most questions so far.
I've heard a lot about HUNNY_PP, but I actually try to avoid watching other theorists. If I hear someone else's theories on a subject, it becomes very difficult for me to form an independent opinion of the situation and separate their thoughts from mine, so I just stay away from it entirely. I'm sure they're amazing tho given the sheer amount of people who've recommended them XD

Because I vaguely remember someone (probably Gallagher so take this with a metric ton of salt) saying that the reason history fictionologists do what they do is to open up more possibilities for the future by preventing people from accurately repeating the past. Or something along those lines anyway. I understand if you're busy but I figured I might as well ask since that has been a point of confusion for me personally 😅

As for the history ficitonologist goals, I can't really say. When it comes to ascertaining a group's goals, I've always found it easier to figure them out based on what I see multiple people in the group doing (for example the fools - can't learn ANYTHING by reading about them, but seeing how sparkle/sampo/even Aventurine operate gives us a lot of clues), but the problem here is we only know ONE fictionologist, so we can't actually get any clues by looking at how they operate compared to each other. When we meet other Fictionologists in the future, I'll definitely be doing some comparisons. But to be honest, I'm not sure what confounding the past would do to keep people from repeating it. In my experience, the best way to make sure people repeat the past is to hide the past so they can't learn from it.
The goal that makes the most sense to me personally for Mythus is he's sort of an Anti-intelligencia. It's not that he destroys the truth. He just hides it so only the "worthy" can find it. The Intelligencia guild (read: Dr. Ratio) believe that everyone is worthy of knowledge and that "ignorance is a malady that must be cleansed". Meanwhile Mythus is over here saying "the meaning of life is in this crossword puzzle. If you want it, you have to work for it.
Given we've only met one of his followers so far, my understanding is VERY limited, but this is what I have at the moment. Mythus is connected to metaphor in my mind more than he is to actual lies.

Oh it's alive, but it's being caged by the family right now :) I didn't explain nearly well enough, but I'm pretty sure the Unknown is Dormancy. Dormancy is the History Ficitonologist and Gallagher is its mask. If you go to the soulglad scorchsand studios or whatevertheheck its called, all it will say is "Gal-lag-her". A lot of people say it's calling for gallagher or angry at gallagher, but I think what it's trying to do is tell us that it is Gallagher.
