We're Feeding Hyenas in Harar, Ethiopia in the worst way possible. This city has an ancient history as being a trading hub in the horn of Africa. Here, hyenas used to be the garbage men, cleaning the streets, crunching on the bones. Now these animals have a pseudo-harmonious relationship with

Their submission is respectful. It seems as if they know not to test the limits of men. Even though they’re stronger than any of them, their respectfulness shows how gentle they can be.
Beautiful animals! We only see them in a bad and aggressive light. Those curtains are put down during this type of interaction. That’s respectable as heck!
I love how humans (and tourists) can appreciate wild animals like this, without putting them in a cage. Hyenas are truly wild predators and yes absolutely dangerous, but with a guide knowing their ways and with food prepared, they perhaps can be seen as the unique creatures they are instead of only screaming scavengers. And I do hope this video will bring the hyena man a good income of new tourists wanting to feed wild hyenas like this, I just love it!

I am from South Africa and I am so scared of Hyenas but I applaud you for doing what you did and facing your fears.
If you don’t mind me asking, what’s it like to live with Hyenas? If you live on the outskirts of a South African city can you hear them at night? Do you have to be careful when going to the store or school? Do they fight/ kills things in your area? People say Hyenas are fearful of humans but then there’s also cases of Hyenas attacking humans. What’s it like?
@@predatorsparadise4759 Hyenas don’t come to the cities as it is to built up. When you are staying in a game farm/game reserve/safari park, most of the times the shalays where you stay are closed in so the wild animals don’t come in. At times you live they not closed in where you wild animals can roam around freely. You can hear them at night. If I in Ethiopia I would probably feed the Hyenas but if they were completely wild I wouldn’t at all

this is one of my dreams, man, i've loved hyenas since i was a child. they're such gorgeous animals, quite misunderstood, too. absolutely stunning.
@harrow86 his story, and several other stories like his, all ends the same. it does, however, sound like that was his fault for thinking it was a good idea to own one as a pet. these hyenas may be acclimated to humans because they're being fed frequently, but that does not mean they are tame, not at all; they are still wild.

I've never seen Harar Hyenas harm tourists. I did feed them once, and it's fascinating to notice that each hyena has a name and responds when called, one by one. The Hyena man called them using the Oromo language. Thanks for sharing your captivating video, my friend.
