- The Mucubal are an African tribe living in Southern Angola. They are semi-nomadic pastoralists and don't often receive guests. I'm always in search of a brand new adventure, one that no one has experienced before, so we head to the main market with a plan.

I never thought to monetize my travels or even bring any sort of electronics, but I love this channel and your work. Back in my single days, I worked maritime security and would have up to a month off from time to time. I'd spin my globe, and whatever piece of land my finger landed on, I went there. I spent a month living and farming on a rice paddy in Indonesia. I lived with sherpas for 3 weeks in the Andes. I had a small apartment in Johannesburg that got robbed repeatedly lol.

Where is Johannesburg? You're so blessed so have done that. To imagine to have a spin of the globe and be able to do a fraction of what you've done in your life. It's so amazing to imagine. Makes me sad to know that I will never experience such beauty's in life.
I was born and raised in Portugal, and although i knew Angola once was part of portugal and all it's struggles to break free from our chains, seeing this series so far has opened my horizon in so many levels!! To start with i never knew i would understand almost every word a TRIBE spoke!!! These guys live THE LIFE, how it was for thousands of years, before the modern technology took over and made our lives so much easier and with it, first world country problems... depression, anxiety, and such, while these people just look to be the ABSOLUTE happiest version of humans I've seen, and probably the healthiest minds walking this earth!!
Thank you Mike for taking us on this adventure, and showing the world a reality we'd rarely be able to see!! So much to learn from you!! ❤

Just a quick observation..
The suffocation is even more heavy for the youngsters, because they are the ones tending to the goats, feeding the babies, bringing them to their mom's.
It's been said that the tribe will also look for the one that you seem to favorite the most.
So imagine you have to suffocate an animal you cared for, an animal that also coexisted with you.. One you may have even had a connection with.
That's what makes it even more of a test. To show that you are able to put your feelings aside for survival. In harsh times, feelings can get you killed in an instant.

I love being able to travel with you through TH-cam man, it is so cool and amazing to be able to see other cultures and traditions I've never seen/never been through. I don't think I could ever suffocate a goat since suffocation is one of my personal worst fears but it was interesting to see how it played a large part in the dinner, considering they didn't waste anything, they assumingly didn't want to stab the goat so they could use the blood as well.
