- This is my tutorial on how to film the Oculus Quest in mixed Reality with LIV software and with or without green screen. As camera you can use a GoPro, DSLR, iPhone or Kinect.

Edit: When callibrating the controllers, center the TRIGGER of the touch for the first click, not the ring.

Hi first off THANK YOU! I have followed another one of your videos with green screen and OBS. Game play in the quest is is 5 fps and same in OBs. Could that be my 5ghz Wi-Fi? If so maybe I’ll get an extender to boost the signal?

It can be your WiFi , or your PC. What is your graphics card?

Excelent video Alex I already subscribed! Just I have one doubt please, how do you make the games appear in the capture section in LIV ? I already connect steam link vr to steam pc and I already have Beat Saber on my Oculus but it didtn appearS in the capture section of LIV :(

Hi bro, I wana answer for that after setting up the LIV & SteamVR, when the choose the game at LIV for launch,shell if need to buy the game at steam?? that's why i ask is I bought the paid game at oculus application & i cant not fine my game to launch at LIV...
Yes, in order to follow this tutorial you need to buy the game on Steam. As you have the game already from the Oculus Store, then you don't need to buy it again. Just watch my other tutorial for Oculus Store games: th-cam.com/video/C-NHKAOZkNY/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your video, do I need to download live connect on my metaquest headset and sync to the desktop live app. For the mobile I had to do that. I'm thinking it's the reason I can't see beat saber capture window. Please help

i can see myself and the mixed reality output through my headset but do not see it on my monitor.
What am I missing?
In other words I'd like to see the output on my monitor in the same way you have the screen (one with augmented reality and one with a first person view, like in this tutorial.
you can see the mixed reality in the LIV output window and the first person view in the game window, does that answer your question?
@@AlexGonzalezVR Yes thank you I figured it out a few days ago. When the image went to full screen I thought the default would be the mixed reality window not the game play window but the liv capture window once I looked at my tabs showed exactly what I need to see, it was just hidden behind the oculus game play window.
It took me a while but I finally got Liv up an running and did my first two mixed reality videos and I owe it in no small thanks the efforts and time people like you take to walk others through these programs. So thanks a ton. Keep up the great work.
Can you make updated video of setting up mixed reality because everything has changed. Could not find any latest tutorial

Hey Thank you for your tutorial, but I have a question. When I try to calibrate my quest 2 with the camera on pc, the icons of the headset don't light green but rather are gray and when I need to press trigger on the camera it doesn't do anything. I would like your help, Thanks you.
looks like steam vr is not recognizing your quest. Try restarting windows and reactivating the oculus link connection.
@@AlexGonzalezVR Hey Thank you for your comment! Apparently I needed to lunch steam VR first then lunching liv. I thought lunching liv alone will lunch the steam VR but that made problems.

I have oculus quest 2, Laptop i5 GTX 1060, Intel Dept Camera, Link cable...no green screen..can i use same set up process as your video?
yes you can do the same set up, but in the minute 7:30 select your depth camera
So if you have beat saber on oculus app will it work? Or only beat saber steam version?.

I keep seeing people right kinects in the description to but I don’t see any videos on how to use kinects
yep, sorry, I don't have a kinect. AS far as I know, you need to follow the same process mentioned in the video with a very slight change
I HAVE DONE STEP BY STEP WHAT YOU SAID. EVERYTHINg is ok till I launch Pistol Whip. And when I go inside this game Pistols flys over my head and is imposible centre the game. Do you know if theres some upgrade in this last 8 months? Because really I cant do miixed realoty with Pist whip.
I don't think it's a problem of the game. Did you try redoing the calibration of controllers and camera a couple of times?

Question: What is the importance of a capture card? I have a high performance PC and a really great camera. Do I need a capture card?
yes yo do need a low-latency capture card no matter what computer you have

I have gotten everything setup but my pov in the headset is backwards from the liv recording it's just looking behind me, am I missing a setting?

@@AlexGonzalezVR I figured it out! I had to open beat saber first then calibrate the camera.
I take it this doesn't work with the Quest version of beat saber? Is there a way to record mixed reality of the quest version with a cable? I've tried the wireless method, but it gets unplayable lag spikes and can't capture audio. Can anyone point me toward some tutorials?

In the tutorial I say that Beat Saber is broken, but it's not broken anymore. You just need to go to beat saber settings and activate mixed reality capture.

I have watched this video a couple times already and yes, I finally did it. It worked. Now the main problem I'm having is the audio. In OBS, the audio is not being recorded. :( help, please.
glad you did it congrats, for the audio your problem is on your screen capturing software. How are you capturing your screen?

Do I need a capture card? As in, if I have a webcam connected to my setup, I wouldn't need a capture card, would I?
If you have a webcam connected via USB you don't need capture card

my game (pistol whip) dont show on the Capture tab so i cant sync and launch it :( why?
Try installing the previous version of Liv
So I'm guessing with this method, I would have to play a game via steamVR instead of an app that is downloaded on Oculus Quest?
yes, exactly. At the moment you need to own the game in SteamVR. In the future LIV will allow to film oculus quest apps from the Oculus Store without using Steam at all

My quest 2 wont let me open the ovr advance settings in my vr.
What's the specific problem? Do you get to see the advanced settings' icon? If not make sure to launch the app every time you want to use them

@@gambo302 yes you have a super computer and will achieve an amazing quality with it. My computer is an i7 with an Nvidia 2070s
How can we save the captured video from Live ?

If you’re in Australia I will literally pay you to set my room up! I’m over the techy stuff and it’s stressing me out! Business idea anyone? Build VR rooms with mixed reality options etc and set it all up.

Hi! LOVED the video I'm trying to stream mixed reality playing beat saber, but i have some troubles. if anyone can help me pleaseeee After setting up everything i open OBS/Twitch studio and i see that everything is perfect, but for those who are watching in twitch, the stream is very, VERY, VERY lag, unwatchable. OBS showed me that a lot of frames were lost/dropped due to the internet. When i made a speed test of my internet (not WIFI) said that i have 900 mbs/s for downloading and 700 mbs/s for uploading, however when i start steamVR, LIV and beat saber my downloading and uploading speed drops to 10 mbs/s and 0,2 mbs/s. Someone told me to downgrade the resolution of beat saber on steam VR, but theres no change. I'm conected to internet using a cable (not WIFI) I'm conected to oculus by a cable too
What graphics card do you have?
Are you sure your computer is powerful enough to do all those tasks at the same time?
@@AlexGonzalezVR rtx 3060 and a ryzen 7 5800. OBS indicates me that the frames are lost due to network issues. The computer is running ok with all those tasks
@@piaescobar3711 that's a great computer indeed, so the computer is not the problem. Are you able to stream to Twitch non VR related stuff correctly?
@@AlexGonzalezVR I made it!! I needed to desactivate the network boost from Lenovo vantage app, a stock software in my Lenovo legion. Hope this help someone who’s having same issues 🥰

why is my calibration never correct, its always not perfect like you, always miss :(
your callibration isn't correct when moving the controllers or when standing still?
@@AlexGonzalezVR i rotate my body and miss again,
and never in the same direction it always miss when i play
@@SyarifMuhamad it takes a lot of practice adjusting the X,Y,Z axis and the latency. Practice makes perfection, keep it up
Good job explaining. The topic of recording Quest use alongside the person standing there (mixed reality) is hard to explain. With greenscreen there are also so many variations in the equipment that the user may have to film with.. Some are using ECAM live(Apple only) software or OBS software while others are may also be using built in software with their ATEM mini switchers and mutliple cameras. Some of these software choices allow for greenscreen so its hard to explain for everyone. Yes ideally the user goes with a simple one camera shoot using a USB webcamera filming the person and then getting the output from the Quest with perhaps the chromecast or the LIV software you mention. You say the LIV is only for the PC not an Apple. So there are many decisions to make in choosing the software to work with the greenscreen, the switchers, the cameras....on and on. Definately one needs to watch a video on this topic a few times.

You are right, there are many variations in the equipment you can choose from. Mixed reality filming takes a lot of trial and error, that's for sure!

Yes, that is causing the problem. You need at least a gtx 1070 desktop, sorry

You need to make sure everything is running off the main gpu and not integrated gpu
