I got NVIDIA broadcast. Do I need to record video elsewhere then drop in the video afterwards. It seems like once I run live it should show the game but it’s only a black or green screen.
@@AtomBombBody I did. Maybe it’s me using the iPhone as a cam. My only options are no background green or colors background or my regular room. I can drop a pic in the file and the background changes I just can’t get the game
Thanks for an informative video. I am mid aged ancient. I am handicapped but i used to be an athlete... i just stumbled upon this mixed VR world on TH-cam a day or two ago. It's very cool to see you so calmly and clearly explaining how you do what you do and you arent gatekeeping. Hopefully with enough physical therapy and saving money over time, this VR may be a nice outlet for someone wirh very limited mobility. Do you know of anyone else that may be in a similar situation and made a set up/room for VR? Thanks again ❤.

at 9:20 , you suddenly faced backwards. I am trying to set this up in Beat Saber. Whenever I launch beat saber, it faces infront of me and I cannot reset my view. I want the camera to be at my back so the POV would be me hitting the incoming blocks. But i dont know how. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you in advance!
i have a question. Did you use 2 different cameras to record this video or just one? because lets say on calibration 5:39 moment u have a camera what is looking at the wall, then later about 7:09 your camera is looking at the corner. So whats the real position on camera when you do a calibration etc? It looks like its in 2 different places so it makes me confused and as evryone knows when you mobe camera, your whole calibration will be broken. :(
I move my camera around a lot depending on the shot I want to get, I'll also change to a wide angle lens if I need to get full body in. Technically if you add something like a Vive tracker to the top of your camera you can move it around without having to calibrate, but that's if your headset is on. If you turn everything off and move your camera then yes you will have to re calibrate. I have a mirrorless camera I use for more of my higher end shots but for tutorials I have a wide angle webcam that just sits on the top of my monitor and dosen't move.
@@AtomBombBody i use oculus 2 and having a lot of problems with calibration, smal move of camera makes controllers in game uncalibrated again. Thats why i was so suprised how you doing it. I thought many times that it can be a problem of my camera what looks exactly in the corner, what doesnt makes a full calibrate of square room, but tbh i have with LIV problems over year after some updates is too many problems;/ thank you anyway:)
@@lajlavalentine The Quest unfortunately is a bit sensitive, things like letting the headset fall asleep or changing your playspace can alter calibration so you gotta do your best to make sure that it stays on the whole time.

I’m just finally setting this all up myself and couldn’t figure out exactly what calibrate wanted me to do with the controllers, seeing it in video format immediately solved it for me. This video also reminded me that OVR advanced settings exists, and I remember that being an essential tool last time I used VR :)

Hello! I just wanted to ask if you know why I get an error while trying to install the Steam VR Driver, I've looked through countless of troubleshooting articles on the website but nothing shows up.
It just says "Uh oh, something went wrong." and the description reads; "Sorry about this, but it seems we couldn't install the SteamVR Driver. Try running the LIV app as administrator, and make sure that SteamVR is fully closed." And i've tried launching it in it's file location as administrator, but nothing's worked.
@@chucklebucket9807 This can happen when SteamVR is going into safemode, try clicking on the three lines on the SteamVR popup > Settings >Startup/Shutdown > Manage Addons and see what you have installed. The LIV virtual camera may have to be manually toggled to "on".
I have a question. I've tried Liv and it did work just as I expected and I love it. I use the automatic background removal. When you first align your controllers with the red plus sign right infront of the camera. I can never get myself in it. The other two red plus signs work and have me in the picture but the first one doesn't??? Why is this?
What do you mean by you cant get yourself in it? It *should* automatically turn off the chroma key so you can see your room in the preview but if its not behaving this way i recommend just turning off the chroma key toggle before calibration. Then for the first x just make sure your controller touches the lens of your camera before clicking the trigger.
@@hypercube3377 If you launch a game before calibrating sometimes UI in the game may also block you, so I usually calibrate in the SteamVR home area before launching a game!
Check the Steam dashboard for either a LIV logo or a question mark (sometimes the logo breaks) as yours might be set there by default. Otherwise to change it back open LIV>General Settings>VR Activation Mode
As a recommendation on a Webcam I can say the NexiGo N980P is also a great start at 1080p 60fps webcam with a 120 degree field of view :) been using one myself for a couple of months now it is amazing

On my walls I bought a 24 pack of neon green posterboard and use command strips to tack it to the wall. I have stucko walls, horribly textured. And I'm renting/ :( so paint was a no. But I cover my ceiling and walls, and then hung green curtains over the windows that I black out with black foam board. For the carpet; I got thick plywood and covered it with greenscreen fabric and stapled it on and it just floats over my carpet. Its such a sturdy place to stand; I've even made it into my home gym. Heavily considering covering the workout gear with frog tape and being a weeirdo somehow xD I'm super interested in joining your discord, but couldn't find a working link.

My woes with trying to do mixed reality with LIV without a green screen keep piling up. I just bought an Nvidia RTX 4070 today and attempted to use my Logitech BRIO webcam as my camera source. After about a minute Nvidia broadcast always freezes my camera image every single time I relaunch the Broadcast app. Mixed reality VR is so frustrating.
I am in LOVE with your green room! I've got about the same thing going on; but I need some tips for chroma keyeing! I have like 8 different filters set to catch all the different tones of green. Is that like... okay?? it looks insane.
Woah jeez! That's a lot haha! I'd probably just use the eyedropper that's built into LIV (once you pop out the color picker, theres an eye dropper top left on that window that you can grab and drop somewhere). Drop it over the most common shade of green you have, or experiment with other spots that seem to help it key out the best. It'll be a lot of fine tuning with the threshold/smoothness. You should get a decent key, unless your shades are all over the place. Otherwise it's probably a lighting issue! Brighter, even distributed light is always the key!
@@Batishika Sometimes the cameras on the Quest can't "see" the controllers very well if past a certain distance, so when you click the trigger try to angle the headset so its a little more like you're looking at the controller
The thing is that the pc screen gets gray and the ❌ for the calibration is like under the gray screen and can't do anything i try to get to your Discord so is easy to show but can't find it
@@Batishika Are you using the mixed reality capture tool under the PCVR section on the LIV app or under Quest? Since you're playing a game on Steam make sure you are using the PCVR mixed reality option. i tried LIV but the cam adjust setting is horrible, if doesn't exist nothing better, i prefer to record and stream in "vtuber mode" instead deal with this annoying camera adjust settings
with the LIV ones, i cannot adjust well the mixed reality camera inside Beat Saber, because these liv options for camera adjust, are so annoying to put in correct position, and seems that don't let me grab the camera with my controller to adjust it with totally freedom, (like the camera2) that is what im using right now because, camera 2 is so simple and let me grab te camera, and place where i want, i tried with liv beta too, but same problem as non-beta version 😔
@@Starsitaa Ah so you are looking more for vtubing solutions? Because the virtual cameras (the ability to move the camera inside the game) are for the avatar cameras, not more mixed reality. Mixed reality relies on your physical camera so if you wanted to move that to a different position, you'd need to actually move your physical camera.

Download OVR advanced settings on Steam! Face the way that you want to be your front and then use its playspace mover to rotate your playspace :)

@@Dallas-eu5nz Use your camera as the output for Nvidia Broadcast, as the 'camera' in LIV select NVIDIA Broadcast
Oh and make sure you also select ARGB mode in LIV!

Luego uso la configuración avanzada del programa OVR (store.steampowered.com/app/1009850/OVR_Advanced_Settings/) para cambiar la rotación del juego a mi alrededor. ¡Espero que tenga sentido/responda a tu pregunta!
i tried LIV but the cam adjust setting is horrible, if doesn't exist nothing better, i prefer to record and stream in "vtuber mode" instead deal with this annoying camera adjust settings
What camera settings are you having a hard time with?
with the LIV ones, i cannot adjust well the mixed reality camera inside Beat Saber, because these liv options for camera adjust, are so annoying to put in correct position, and seems that don't let me grab the camera with my controller to adjust it with totally freedom, (like the camera2) that is what im using right now because, camera 2 is so simple and let me grab te camera, and place where i want, i tried with liv beta too, but same problem as non-beta version 😔
@@Starsitaa Ah so you are looking more for vtubing solutions? Because the virtual cameras (the ability to move the camera inside the game) are for the avatar cameras, not more mixed reality. Mixed reality relies on your physical camera so if you wanted to move that to a different position, you'd need to actually move your physical camera.
