So a little insight on Penny . She is supposedly 8 years old as of two days ago . She has half an ear that was bitten off & she is definitely underweight. She’s had pups before we don’t know if maybe she was a breeder but she is sweet as can be. Spayed and fully vaccinated.

I was about 4 years old when we had our first. He was called Rebel and he would stand on his hind legs, put his paws on my dad’s shoulders and look him in the eye. He was a gentle giant and I used to ride on him. It was in the early 60s and he’d always be out and about with us as a group of kids, no traffic then of course. He was our bodyguard, watching out for us and keeping strangers at bay. I have loved dogs, especially German Shepherds ever since. We now have a couple of rescue dogs who we adore and hopefully, one day I’ll find another Rebel, another soulmate.

It was time for you to upgrade your Shepherd security system anyway. Sadie has been working so hard for so long, she deserves an assistant who knows what's what when it comes to security! 🥰
Isn’t that a wonderful thing to do to open your hearts and home to Penny. I know Sadie will teach her the ropes of proper Shepard protocols for defending your home perimeter.
I see many funny videos coming in the future. The GSDs will rule the house now and Sadie and Penny will team up and play the "Knock Down Game" even better! She's beautiful and makes a great addition to Sadie's Pack!!!
Glad to see GSD Security is expanding the ranks. Penny looks so happy to have a home, she will defend it vigorously, once Sadie shows her the ropes. Even the O.G. looked pleased, and the moon is waxing again. Love it that you saved her from staying in the shelter a minute longer.

Pure love! I have a road rescue mix! He is so smart! Loves the pit bull and the kitties and we ALL love him, to death! Never one accident in the house, so glad no one claimed him!
You are such good people, thank god for folks like you. I can't bear to see an GSDs in a shelter, or Poodles. They suffer horribly. Thank you for this rescue. Penny is a beautiful dog, gorgeous! I bet that ear could be tidied up a little with surgery by the new owner. Feed good food and the age does not matter anymore. Real food that is, real meat, veggies, fish, eggs, etc. This has made huge progress in my rescues.
She looks like she could use a bath, and a LOT of brushing. I have a shorthaired GSD and he sheds so much, I can only imagine how much a shaggier one like her will shed.

I agree with you about senior pets. Over two years ago, I adopted a 12 year old dog. She is such a delight and still going strong! Senior pets rock!

She looks like she could use a bath, and a LOT of brushing. I have a shorthaired GSD and he sheds so much, I can only imagine how much a shaggier one like her will shed.
I'd pet all of them.
