  • This is the way i use to create 3D printable QR codes. There are many ways and faster ways too but I like to have the option to customize them using fusion 360.
    From Wikipedia:
"The QR code system was invented in 1994 by Masahiro Hara from the Japanese company Denso Wave. The initial design was influenced by the black and white pieces on a Go board. Its purpose was to track vehicles during manufacturing; it was designed to allow high-speed component scanning. QR codes are now used in a much broader context, including both commercial tracking applications and convenience-oriented applications aimed at mobile-phone users (termed mobile tagging). QR codes may be used to display text to the user, to open a webpage on the user's device, to add a vCard contact to the user's device, to open a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), to connect to a wireless network, or to compose an email or text message. There are a great many QR code generators available as software or as online tools that are either free, or require a paid subscription. The QR code has become one of the most-used types of two-dimensional code."

Getting hung up on selecting the parts, it doesn't leave any of the holes and ends up making massive shapes. I can manually go through and deselect where the holes should be, but depending on how complex the QR code is, that can take a very long time, and one missed square leads to completely redoing it as Fusion 360 forgets that parts were selected when using the undo button. There's got to be an easier way to select only the relevant parts right?

unfortunately i don't have a better way of selecting the shapes. you may want to explore different outputs under the shapes and color section when u generate the qr code. th-cam.com/video/VUyLV5gXkvg/w-d-xo.html

Any idea what resources I should look into for creating a product like QR codes? (I realize this is a very broad request. Like someone asking how to make car when they've only seen an engine.) Looking to design something to transfer data over an image/sequence without befuddling myself with geometry-ception.

I'm not sure if I understand your query. I assume u want to make a product that incorporate a QR code or image but do not want to get into the CAD stuffs? I'm sure they are many designers who are willing to provide those services with a fee. As long as you have the idea for them to begin with. Sorry if I misunderstood your question.
