Fantastic. Valuable demo. I had 4 LEDs out. I have soldered the connections to short them and TV works. I've been worried about more burning out. The TV has LEDs that will only light at 10volts. Any spare TV's I've opened have LEDs that light at 3volts. I was thinking of adding 3 x 3volts per burnt our 10v LEDs at the end of each row to maybe use excess current - but couldn't work out how this would work or affect things. So now will leave as is!!!!
Hey man really like your videos very informative was wondering if I could ask you a quick question I have a LG 50 lb 5800 I bought it used the LEDs needed to be replaced so I replaced them brand new but then only three strips out of five were lighting up so I found out the power supply board was not working so I replaced that but I bought it used now all five strips are lighting up like normal but when I turn the TV on it stays on for about 30 seconds with sound and then the image slowly Fades away but doesn't completely power off I can still hear the sound but can't press any buttons or get the picture back until I turn it off physically and then back on. Have you ever heard of this there's not much else on the TV to replace I don't think any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated because the TV is driving me insane.lol thank you and cheers from Canada!
I have a question how do i go about keeping the backlight going as a light only without lcd panel stays on 10mins then cuts off can you help please great viedo.
i have a couple of flat screen tv led stips that are marked 96 volts,,in order to run these from a 110 volt main how would i figure the resistance to these so i dont blow them up?im new to leds but not to 110 =220-480 voltage
ty ,,i probably would have definitly fried them hookin up to a 110,,lo i did run a mall microwave motor generator that lights the strips up..what voltage do u think i should use?
Sorin can you please show us how to connect the pins on the screen or tv power supply so the back light is always on instead of buying a separate led driver or power supply for it. I have a broken PC screen which I would want to turn it into a light panel .. I just don't know how to rewire the power supply that came with the screen so the backlight stays always on.
Nice video, but to be absolutely clear - if all but one led burns out on tv backlight, then tv led power supply will decrease the voltage so that one last working LED will get only 3 volts (instead of 100 volts if entire LED strip was working)?

The only rule if replacing an led is use the same type, same spec. For experementers a 3 terminal regulator and a resistor will keep a string of leds at a constant current.
I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT ! We certainly should understand those kind of relations if we plan to use a multimeter or change/shorten backlight on TV's

same question .. would be nice to use the power supply of the screen itself to turn a broken LCD monitor into a LED panel backlight

the 96V marking is a production label, it is not a voltage.

Any one know how to do this?
thank you. Great explanation.
Amazing Explaination 😎👌 👍up

Basic knowledge, but very important for repair.

zx8401ztv If current controlled. Why would it hurt if you replaced a 10volt led with a 5 volt. Would the 5volt draw more current?
