  • Proxxon FET Side Cutting Sled Real job test. This is not a video on how to make a Box, but a test of how the system is to work with when it comes to a real task, (a Box).
Conclusion: The system is very easy to set up and the saw cuts become very precise.
I am very happy with the system when it comes to straight cuts in 90˚ and vertical cuts in o˚- 45˚, so now the horizontal cut in 0˚ - 45˚ applies. A system of stop blocks and perhaps a holder for templates must also be made so that it will be easy to repeat a previous job.
Thank you to those who follow developments of the system and perhaps also work on the idea.
If anyone has made their own Side Cutte Sled and would like to show the result, I would like to post a link here for either photos or video

All show and no talk. Excellent. Perfect for making the kitchen drawer section boxes.

After this presentation, I am absolutely convinced of the Side Cutting Sled. I think I will take your idea and build this extension as well.
And as always ... perfectly presented. Thanks for the great videos.

Thank you very much for your comment. I would be happy if you and others would use the idea, I myself was very surprised at how easy it was to build and how precisely one can work with it. I also think one could use the idea on other and larger saws.

I’ve been considering the purchase of a mini table saw, and having never used one, I had a hard time deciding which one was the best value. Micro Marks version (the tilt arbor model) had some very bad reviews, but some good ones also. The Proxxon FET was a good bit higher in price, but had better reviews. The Byrnes saw is the holy grail of mini table saws, but it’s price is a little over the top, and it doesn’t have a tilt arbor, requiring the purchase of a costly, optional tilt table if you desire to cut miters! I ultimately decided to go with the Proxxon, they delivered it today, and I’m blown away by this saw! Big power, easy to operate, and quiet! What’s not to love?!

Thank you for your comment. I don't like the price and there are many details I don't like either, but I don't want to do without my FET. It's small, doesn't make a lot of noise and you can easily make it into a super workstation yourself, I'm sure you'll get a lot of pleasure out of yours.

I've got the cheapo Micro Mark MicroLux mini table saw with a fixed blade. I'd have to make a jig to cut grooves since I can't lower or raise the saw blade. I do like the sled you made. Works very well with precision cuts. I use my saw mostly for making HO scale lumber for my railroad. Cheers from eastern TN

Thank you very much for your comment John, I do not want to do without my Cross Cut Sled but this system is really much easier to make and then it can be easily adjusted to a high degree of precision.

You are a lucky man, you just tell your wife that you plan to clean up and see what can be used from the old box. The word cleanup paves the way for many projects.

Really appreciate your videos and am looking at buying the proxxon FET. Isn’t using a crosscut sled safer to use? Your sled designs are good.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, a Cross Cut Sled is probably the safest way to use a circular saw and also what I recommend that you first make for your saw. My new system is not yet fully developed and security will also be considered.
