When you hit that slipstream at 11:45, I was in awe of that speed increase. Wow. I'm not even done with this video and it's got me completely captivated. It's amazing as well how oh his last drip of fuel, he overtakes the last corner and immediately ran out of fuel to lose his highly possible 1st place which was only 100m within grasp. We should sympathize with Steve here for losing his chance also, but we've gotta sympathize especially for the other guy imho.

This isa great advert for how challenging and exciting oval racing can be, despite the hard time it gets from circuit racers.

Been having this as an suggestion for the last months maybe even half a year but never got my thumbs out to watch this until today.
And BOY do I both regret not watching this before but also not; wouldn't been having such an amazing time during these 24minutes.
So intense from the moment race actually started up until the actual end of it, both the race AND the video (normally I just jump to another video once I'm over the main goal for the vid).

This track is by far my most successful on GT Sport. It's actually amusing to be one of the few people who like oval racing in this game apparently. I wish Blue Moon Bay came up more often. I just got my best over Manufacturer's points score (with the current points system) from this race, and I also got my first ever FIA win in another Gr.3 race at BMB oval.
It's actually amusing to see how little anyone wanted to work together in your race. In mine the Top 5 immediately separated from the rest of the field, and in the end I was 1 of 3 who was in the lead group, and we worked together until the last couple laps. In the end I finished 2nd for 253 points.

It absolutely blows my mind that modern gaming has come THIS FAR in online play. It's a bit jittery, but considering these people are hundreds if not thousands of miles apart and can interact seamlessly enough to actually cooperate around every corner... Incredible.

This is how I imagine myself driving
You see two lines of cars side-by-side ahead of you. You have to pick which line to join to get the fastest slip stream. Do you take the inside line? The outside line?
Picking a line of cars to slipstream and hoping you picked the correct line, is like waiting in a line at the supermarket and seeing another line moving faster so you move over there, but then the line you left starts to move faster while you sit there behind some person who can't find their stack of coupons....
Some of your races illustrate this to perfection. As frustrating as the finish was, it was an awesome race.

Got recommended this video by TH-cam because I watch Jimmy Broadbent, clicked on and saw it was an oval race and was about to close the video but ended up watching the whole thing and loving it. You have a new subscriber, excellent commentary and driving!

was this not intense? beats watching the lead car on a circuit with a 30 second gap to 2nd who also has a 10 second gap to 3rd.
Y the last 2 laps are the most intense of any motorsport (Yas Marina GP not included 🙄)

Anyone can turn left and drive in a circle... and that's what makes it so competitive. The best wheel to wheel racing is at an oval track.
@@lorddrac_dontaskmetodance arguably not. As someone else said, 95% of the race is just laps, and laps, and laps without anything happening. And the last 5% is mostly crashes.

I’ve just realized, that there are 3 people that are ZeFiX on your tail. At lap 24 we can see Dofrer actually let off the gas at one point and that was I think to gain slipstream by lap 25 and pass you again and take pole. It was clear that he ran out fuel, and somehow another ZeFiX actually won the race, so pretty much a win for the team or clan there.

That was the most intense race so far! Excellent driving! And i think it is possible that the guy in the end slowed down on purpose to let the other ZeFix player win, because he knew you would slingshot past him..

Waiting for my thrustmaster t300 rs with THA8 shifter to get delivered and got the game , suffering with controller , i dont remmeber the last time i used a controller for gt and last time i played gt was gt 4 😤 watching you commentate and play at the same time is bringing back good memories! Well done on that race , definitely should of won i feel like, if that guy didn’t run out of fuel.

You see, oval racing has this thing (like most of racing), if the cars are really spread out it's a snooze fest, but with pack racing it's intense up to the line. That was amazing, well done mate
