    She is adorable! Can't help but smile. Got a grand child coming soon and I plan to do the same in my Cub someday. Thanks for sharing.

    Why has this not gone absolutely viral. Best video I've seen in a long time

    Just ironically found this with coronavirus going on.. You’re daughter looks like she was having a blast up there!

    What neat little girl! She just pops right into a smile - it's infectious. Flying J-3's tends to do that to a person, though, eh? ;) Great video. Keep smilin' young lady!

      You are very welcome, glad you enjoyed it. Your Matrix is only "a little" faster ;) but the memories are the same ;-)

    Envious. My two daughters grew up with a career fighter pilot Dad (me) and neither had any interest in flying. I did coax my oldest daughter to go up in my L-39 Albatros once and she allowed my to do some light acro. She ended up being unconscious for most of it. No g-tolerance. But she told me after the flight she had a new appreciation for what I did. Now, I have a J-3 and, sadly, both are grown and out of the house.

    She definitely has the right personality and attitude to be a good pilot, and you have the right airplane to give her a good feel for it.

      Thank you. She actually doesn't (yet) have any particular interest in flying, but when she does fly, then she enjoys it. You are totally right about the little Cub being a great plane to learn about flying. It isn't mine ;) but who knows, maybe one day i'll get one.

      ev3rlastingfaith I learned to fly in a Taylorcraft as well as a Champ with a wooden prop and no electrical system, those aircraft teach people how to fly the wing of the aircraft without relying on the engine to get you out of trouble. In my aviation career all the best pilots I was around, learned to fly in conventional gear aircraft, they just seem to have a better feel for it.

      John doe "teach people how to fly the wing" - totally agree with that. This particular J-3 has the 85hp C-85 Continental engine; i've never flown the 65hp A-65 version, but that sure must sure have made the pilot pay attention to energy management and coordinated flight. Anyhow, my goal is to one day learn to fly a glider - will come in handy when the single engine stops ;)

      ev3rlastingfaith My Champ had the 65, my Taylorcraft was an F-19 with a 0-200 100 hp, never got to fly sail planes, but I always wanted too. I flew my Taylorcraft to Oshkosh in 1986, best time in aviation I ever had.

      Glad you enjoyed the video. If you're ever interested in a short flight, check out your nearest municipal airport, look for a flight school there an ask about a short "discovery flight". Do ask them about their aircraft maintenance and ask them to tell you about any risks you should be aware of and how the school mitigates them. That aside, it would be quite an experience and you would enjoy it.

    Fun video, and great video quality. What camera did you use?

    • @ev3rlastingfaith
      @ev3rlastingfaith  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's an old GoPro Hero 2 set to record at only 720P, 60 frames per second. Camera was mounted with a suction cup RAM mount. There were 2 audio sources: one, from the GoPro camera itself that recorded the ambient engine noise (you cannot hear conversation with this audio); the second audio source was recorded with an audio recorder whose input was from the headset intercom (this recorded the conversation, but very little engine/ambient noise). Then I combined the 2 audio sources and added the soundtrack with adobe premier elements). A few hours worth of work but makes for good memories.

    Would probably been a great video without the music. Started well and then the music - stopped watching.
