    The holes are for moving the bracket so you can angle it without moving the barn door

      Thank you for that comment, so many reviewers seem not to notice that...

    I realized that the lamp is working only with one battery, and it isn't depends which slot do you put it. It works with the same brightness as it would with two batteries.

    Many thanks but I wish you had shown how to mount the lights on the pole. There are a million different models of the Neewer 660 and mine is different than yours.

      Most panel lights should fit on all light stands. Undo the wing-nut, place it on top of the light stand and tighten. 🙂

    Thanks for the review. I also found another Neewer led with 480 Led with golden color JYLED500S . I wonder what is the main difference? NL 660 has more leds but in the descriptions both of them have the same output which is 3360Lux/m. do you know which one is the latest model and is there any difference in output? And do you know what is the output when only used in daylight color? Thanks

    @RichiJasper 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    On amazon they say 480 LED and 660 LED have exactly the same light ought = 3300 lux/m.
    Could anybody tell what’s the point in buying 660 LED if they are more expensive but have the same output?

    Does the light spill between the light panel and the barn doors? There is a gap, not sure how critical is that. Also, these did not come with some sort of an angled adapter to tilt the whole frame forward< did they?

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's been awhile since I've last used these, but to what I can remember I didn't really notice much spill, so not critical in my opinion. You are correct, there is no angled adapter to tilt it forward.

    Looking at picking these up soon, but I also need softboxes from time to time, any idea how you would go about finding a suitable box or rigging one on at all?

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not aware of any softboxes available for this unfortunately. 😅

    Hi, loved the video! Could I use these for on location photography? Is there enough output?

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you :)
      There's decent output, however I honestly couldn't say as I haven't used these for such scenario. I guess it would depend on how much light there is too. 😯

    Hi, can I charge the batteries using the neweer led? And how can I do that? I don't want to use it while operating it, I just need to charge the batteries. Thank u !

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need an external charger for the batteries as you can't do it through the light. 😯

      In case it'll help others, the Neewer is advertised at 3300 lumens and 40W. I have a Sylvania LED normal screw in bulb in a ~50cm dome reflector that's advertised for 1500 lumens and 14 W. (I don't have a light meter to check with.) Pointed at the same target, the Sylvania is brighter in the center than the Neewer with both sets of LEDs at max BUT, the Neewer casts a much wider light. The Neewer is more of a flood light. I don't care much for barn doors though. Too many weird light effects with them in place, the light is not cut nicely. But the only LED light that I've not seen that with is the FloLight's Bladelight. Not sure this will be of help to anyone, but just in case.

    how long does it last on batteries?

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say as during my times of use, I never kept track of how long as I always keep on-top of charging. There are are a couple of battery options to use too, so it would vary on what you're using too.

      Did you finally picked this model? I am interested to buy 3 led panels that can provide me enough power and versatility for outdoor and indoor shoots, for night and a little bit for daylight. And i don't know if i should pick this model with bicolor or just the single color one and use gels. Could you please suggest me what you think is better for me? If you think there's another model could you say which one?
      And at the same time, i dont know if it would be interesting to get 1 or 2 of the Neewer 2 Pack Regulable Bi-color 480 LED (www.amazon.es/Neewer-Regulable-Bi-color-Iluminaci%C3%B3n-Incluye/dp/B073XK5W66/ref=pd_sim_421_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=F6WMA2FQF0S4PB6YHBF6) because the are tinner and maybe i can use them for fill light.

    • @vanishingeyefilms
      @vanishingeyefilms 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These will work as fill, but only if you are in the shade. In bright sunlight they don't stand a chance. In bright sunlight you'd need something like an Arri M18. In medium sunlight something like an Aputure 300D would work pretty well.

    Can you relocate the bracket into those other screw holes so that the unit can pivot more with the barndoors still attached ?

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, it will give you slight more freedom, but not a HUGE amount. Definitely a bit of an oversight on the design, that's for sure, but still a decent light.

    • @pootmcphoot

      It looks like the pivot point is not in the centre, so if you flip the light 180 the barn doors should not get in the way without removing anything...

  • @swansonq
    @swansonq 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It looks as if you can move the yoke down to the second set of 1/4" threads , that may allow the yoke to pass the barn doors so that you may tilt the light down? Is it the same size as the knuckle threads? Would love to know , cause its kinda pointless if you can't tilt the light down...

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      *Ed Mattson* Apologies for the late reply!
      Good eye there; you are correct, this can be placed further up which allows it to be angled down further, however the side barn doors do catch on the frame, restricting them at a 90deg angle maximum.

    Hi there, do you happen to know if they sell those filter separately? I'd like to get one orange or some colours but couldn't find anything. Thank you!!

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can't find any myself, however you could possibly buy some gel filters and slot them under the acrylic insert?

    • @ajrc1987
      @ajrc1987 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably, but I just wanted something specially made for it, as the ones that you can get for the Yongnuo panels. They are thicker, more durable and ready to use. Thank you!!

      I just found a pretty nice kit from Neewer, there are two sizes: goo.gl/ns5oem Idk which should I get, Do you know the exact size of the filter that comes with the light? Perhaps I could get one of those and cut it to fit in it. I'll tell u how it goes. Thanks again.

    Nice review but I have a question, if I filming at 120fps there's no flicker with this light ? Because I know LED is pulse of light so I wonder if we can have problems at 120fps ?
    Thank you !

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Filming in 120fps should be fine, I haven't come across any issues. Nothing has been brought up from any of the Amazon reviews that I can see regarding this either. :)
