    Great video, and it's nice to find someone on YT who can actually plan and deliver a tutorial precisely and concisely. As for the barn-doors impeding on the beams, I would think that it's a moot point, as the light output will probably be further impeded when the barn-doors are closed inwards to any extent.

    Good work. The Neewer light is good value and The CRI rating is the icing on the cake. Neewer makes an excellent heavy duty light stand which is sold in pairs and works perfectly with this light.

    For reference a standard 1K Tungsten redhead (movie light) cranks out around 27500 lumens and consumes between 210-240 watts. This is putting out somewhere in the region of tenth of that power with no where near the throw. It looks to be a good quality light in terms of it's build quality and feature set but unless you're blogging sitting in a room and not moving around a lot it's going to be very limited in terms of it's impact in a wider shot. You could possible use it to accent other more powerful lights but it's not going to flood a room even a small room with light and bring down your ISO.

    • @jamieoxenham1656
      @jamieoxenham1656 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think a 1k red head uses 1000 watts, so of course this wouldnt compare. And you certainly wouldnt use this to replace that kind of lumen rating. But your on the mark with the rest of your commebt for sure!

  • @raccoonroll4076
    @raccoonroll4076 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would you recommend these to help light a wedding reception dance floor? My friend advised against them because the LEDs might blind people and said to go with softbox lights but those are always so huge and the dimmer on these is a really nice touch. And I like that the Neewer lights run on batteries so no one will trip over cords.

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's pretty bright to look directly, and I would recommend a wider light or lightbox. Try the Falcon Eyes flex lights. those are lovely

    Best review I've found on these lights. I've heard people saying that the lower barn door doesn't allow you to tilt or angle them down enough. Do you find that to be the case? Thanks again, top knotch review.

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I felt like the lower barn door did get in the way if using on a straight stand, But only if you are trying to use an extreme angle. To avoid, I would use a C stand with an arm or something comparable. Thanks for watching!

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jen, I purchased the Neewer lights. This may sound dumb, but I can't figure out how to use the lower barn door when the light is mounted. It is restricted by the frame.

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm... I'm not sure I follow. Are you having a hard time pulling the door down? Or is the angle really extreme? You may need to get an C-Stand with a Boom pole, so you can angle the light down (see link). Keep reading for a cheaper option.
      www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075ZHTHD5/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=stayposh-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B075ZHTHD5&linkId=6d79116cdf2b376e861b99046b5e6682
      A CHEAPER OPTION would be to get one of these (link below). Then you could mount the light with the bracket at almost a 90 degree angle, directly in the back of the light, freeing up space above and below. Hope this helps.

    But the Neewer white only doesn't look as white as the Falcon Eyes. Does it mean that Falcon is better than Neewer?

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The FalconEyes looks whiter because it's brighter, so if brightness is what you are looking for, then the Falcon is better. But the Neewer is bi-color, smaller, and cheaper, so those factors are something to consider too. Good luck!

    Could you do a video that compares it up against other lights in its own class? You know, to help people make buying decisions. Something like the GVM 480. I mean, obviously this one will be brighter than the tiny one and dimmer than the huge one. Showing that doesn't really help anyone.

    Bought two of these for use as photo lights and found the warm color tones to have a bit of a green-ish tint compared to my Walimex Pro Soft LED 200. Did you notice any issues with the warm white color accuracy?
    This was especially troublesome when combining the Neewer and Walimex lights, because correcting white balance for one light would add a tint to the other.

    You are a great reviewer. Well done.
    So question from a non-photographer. I just want some really nice lighting for youtube vids and family pics on occasion. Is this overkill? I see a lot of $100-$200 kits but I fear getting them and wishing I had spent a little more. I don't mind spending up to around $600. Could a beginner get the hang of these fairly quick?
    Thanks much! I have sub'd as I'm trying to learn how to do this stuff now and love your explanations!

      @StayPosh  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! Thanks for the comment and glad you liked the video. If you have the budget to spend a little more I would go for something a little brighter. I really like my FalconEyes 18TX and also you can never go wrong with Aputure. That being said, I think these Neewers are a great entry level, bi-color option and having a few could serve you well. The next light I'll be reviewing is the Falcon Eyes SO-40TD which might turn out to be another great bi-color option, so be sure to check that one out and thanks for the sub! - Jen

    whats the color temperatur when both the tungsten and daylight leds are switched on?

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! The Amazon listing says the light's Color Temperature is 3200-5600K so my rough guess of the mix is 4400k, but I don't have a meter to measure the actual temp. You likely could screenshot my video and check out the temp using a Premiere Pro (or Photoshop) tool too if you wanted to know the exact.
      Here's some info from Adobe about color temp in PP helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/color-correction-adjustment.html
      Hope this helps! Cheers!

    • @FelixFukuyoshi
      @FelixFukuyoshi 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jen w/ Stay Posh thanks, yes it makes sense that the color temp should be something in between. I wish they made the color temp adjustable on all leds instead of having to switch between either two and losing intensity. The small Aputure F1 does it but doing it on a bigger panel would increase the price a lot I guess.

    • @StayPosh
      @StayPosh  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks for the question! I say the closer the light the better. Close lighting is going to allow you to have soft light which will look good on your subject. I think for the price this is a great place to start though, and even though I have bigger lights now, I started with these and still use them all the time. Just my thoughts.
