I joined the Dark Brotherhood, because i strike from the shadows, and my targets don't see me coming.I am the Blade In the Dark, and if you are my target, you won't know it until its too late. If a toe-to-toe fight is called for, i play by the rules of survival, where my opponent remains entrapped in his own honor. Poisoned blades? Sure! Pocket Sand? Why not. groin kick? only if i'm behind. i'm here to kill them, not cause unnecessary pain. Unless your name is Commander Maro. out of game - i LOVE stealth based gameplay in just about any game. i don't actually use poison, mostly because i either A) forget to use it, or B) accidentally drink it somehow and now I'M poisoned. or am i thinking eating the ingredients...? either way, same result. usually i just sell it, potions lose me after health, stamina and invisibility. I really didn't like commander Maro, but i won't say i don't understand why he attacked the DB. It makes sense, but he also got most of the DB killed, and that also led to me having to pop Astrid, a character i actually really liked, and i saw where she came from too. and on top of everything, they have a fantastic looking armor set. edit - i do sometimes wish the stat lines were better tho, might change that in one of the mods im working on(off and on, never constantly between work and school)

@Alexander Like Destati said, the question of which fraction to choose is so old as the greybeards. Ulfric has the right of being the high king decided in the duel with torygg. So the empire should have accept that and fuck off insted of fighting in a land they are not welcome anymore and killing their own man. Skyrim is a land of talos and they rather die than denying him. They could have gone peacefully and someday fighting the aldmeri together again. So its not just one sided you see.
@@TheDestati I agree with Alexander for other reasons, but mostly because of how Ulfric went about it, I don't think he'd be a good high king, first of all if you visit his hold it's out of order and few of his citizens get along, he brushes off the problems of his civilians, and there's a murderer on the loose that they aren't exactly going out of their way to find. He's already not a good Jarl, he is a good warrior though. Second, he could have gone about Torygg's position entirely different, as many of the solitude court members will illude to the fact that they thought he was just asking him to step down from his position as High King which would've made Skyrim independent and the nation would still be unified, so in the event the Empire tried to take it back they probably would've been able to fight them off being that they'd have many more able bodied citizens willing to fight. Third, starting the civil war is just weakening Skyrim for the Thalmor. Whoever wins will probably be brought down by the Altmer Dominion seeing as they'd already be weakened and the Altmer Dominion are kind of assholes. Fourth, you can speak with Legate Rikke, who is a nord fighting for the imperials, about how she feels about Talos and frankly she doesn't care, most imperials will tell you the same, just don't openly and loudly worship Talos and no one cares but the Thalmor, who would reasonably care being that their whole thing is proving that mer are better than man but when one man becomes a divinity that kinda distinguishes any argument they have. Fifth, the way he took down Torygg was kinda dishonest, he used his shout to disarm him, it wasn't much of a duel if you ask me, and I know many will disagree with this, but he blindsided him, it was and unevenly matched duel, it was the equivalent of bringing a gun to a knife fight, you can usually tell the clear victor. And he doesn't plan on leaving the war at that after winning, he plans on taking it to the Altmer, and seeing how the last war had to be ended in The White Gold Concord we can only imagine how many lives will be lost, along with the fact of the nation still probably being divided. Now I have seen from Ulfric's perspective and I understand why he feels the way he does but honestly I still feel he's a bad ruler and wouldn't be fit for high king, with the conclusion of my argument being that no matter who you might think is right Skyrim is better off with the Empire, as much as I agree with freedom of religion, everyone is safer if they stick with the treaty with the Altmer. Overall however I think the entire Civil War was stupid they should've paused the war to focus on the dragon problem and the only reason they even think about it is if you call a treaty with the Greybeards for them to hault it until the dragon threat has been rid of.

@@mr.jamrob4505 Super easy. My fastest run of Return to Your Roots was probably ~8 maybe 6 and a half minutes, though I had a ring on that made my stamina massive and recharge super fast.
@@Fortniteloverepic i mean, don't actually *fuck* the gems, sounds painful tbh no stone unturned isn't difficult if you take it hold by hold. quite a few are available as part of main or guild questlines. some of them are out of the way like Black Briar Lodge the ship north east of Solitude, Rannveig's Fast, and Ansilvund, but afaik more than half are just in or around big cities. There's 2 in Solitude, 3(!) in Whiterun, 2 in Windhelm, 1 in Winterhold, 1 in Riften, 2 in Markarth, 2 *near* Falkreath and 1 on the road there from either Whiterun or Markarth. it just ends up being time consuming more than anything else. quickest run i had getting all the gems was 3 days, with the last one obtained being the dark brotherhood sanctuary. good luck.

If you do the plate-clip glitch on the rubble that's collapsed right outside of where the crown is (Or tcl through it), you can skip the entire gem-fetching. As long as you get the crown you can finish the quest. Literally easier than the nirnroot.
It was nice having Tsun actually giving you a little respect, after the ENTIRE game is spent with every Nord shitting on you for using magic. Edit: It's kinda astounding how this simple comment is still getting replies so many months later. They lost hammerfell but they gained Morrowind did they not? plus with Skyrim in the middle of a civil war the empire either needs to give up on it ( unlikely ) or win, but by then the emprie is to weak to mount a surprise attack. i wish we could jsut assassinate Ulfric and become the High King of skyrim, make it an independent state however still allign with the Empire, march into the pathetic Elf home and commit genocide on the pompass pricks like we did to the snow elves

DiddleDorp "Evil" is subjective with the daedric as they can be good to one but evil to another. Malog Bal and Dagon are the closest to evil. Others he sheogorath and Vermia are Neutral-Evil they like to mess with people but aren't entirely evil, for example Sheogorath in a book (Can't remember which) claimed he was the creator of art and celebrations. Then Merida is the most neutral as she hates the undead which is "good" in the eyes of mortals

@@altabalder When the oblivion gates were opening up across tamriel, the Hist Trees, who are the sentient god-trees that rule black marsh, gave many of the argonians there a special form of hist sap turning them into massive super-soldiers and they invaded the deadlands (mehrunes dagon's plane of oblivion) through the gates with such ferocity that the daedra shut the oblivion gates in black marsh to keep them out.

Aside from the Dragonborn answer, I feel the College of Winterhold response is the ideal way to go. It's good to know that there are those among Skyrim's dead who still have a high respect for mages, aside from the College. Tsun is right about the Clever Craft; it is a difficult skill to learn for most humans, but is rewarding to master due to the raw power it contains. Many modern Nords and Stormcloaks say they honor and follow their ancient ancestors. Were that fully true, a good Nord would bow their head in respect at the sight of an experienced mage. Belrand in Solitude is a Nord who I feel is worthy of note due to his respect for the Clever Craft. If you happen to be a Nord player or Stormcloak sympathizer, make your ancestors and those who reside in Sovngarde proud by utilizing magic, if only a healing spell or a simple potion. They would smile down upon you for this respect of the Clever Craft.

Does enchanting your armor to the max so you can use destruction magic with no cost count? Tbh the only magic I use is destruction (aside from dabbling in the other trees like to summon a permanent flame monarch or heal myself) But dang is it satisfying to be able to stun lock a dragon by two handing thunderbolt whole having the perks Impact and Augmented Shock lol

Don't feel bad, There are 5 other games of the elder scrolls Lore, and not everyone has payed every game, or read every piece of canon lore. I myself, only own Skyrim, and Skyrim special edition. To my knowledge, the other 5 games are: Arena(I believe this is the first game), Daggerfall(I think it's the second game), Marrowwind(3rd game), Oblivion(4th game), and Redguard(Not quite sure if this is a spin off or a game that is supposed to be a 2.5, it came out before Marrowind, and may not be considered Canon.).

Wearing a full set of daedric does help you pass an intimidation check, but honestly I did this in a full set of dragon armor that was pretty OP in stats and he almost wrecked me

Tsun serves Shor, whiich is just the Nordic version of Lorkhan. Lorkhan was born of Sithis and I wonder if this is classic Bethesda lore rewrite, or if Shor/Tsun have a nuanced opinion on the void and the essence of change. OR if the dark brotherhood really isn't "serving" sithis in a legitimate way
The Dark brotherhood has made many great accusations on how sithis works and his role in the grand scheme. The fact that Sithis would get mad over things so small it is beyond his comprehension is sort of laughable. Lorkhan is an aedra with padomaic tendencies, just as his vice versa Jyggalag is a daedra with anuaic tendencies. Sithis might have played a role with Lorkhan tricking the aedra, but those are the words that come from a cult who don't know what they are actually worshiping. Mankind worship Lorkhan because lorkhan created them(or so says man) or because lorkhan made mortals of Aedra's descendants and mankind, being more mortal than elves sees a hero against elves.
I think Tsun doesn't care about who or what you worship. I think he cares about who you are. In this case, you are a murderer, not a hero. He says that you may be able to enter Shor's hall if you change from being an assassin. You can still worship sithis, you just can't be an assassin. That's what I think.
I agree that the Dark Brotherhood perception of serving Sithis is most likely not literal or at least not obvious. Sithis is just the force of change, chaos, the void etc. (which i guess assassination might serve in a roundabout way). Ultimately I guess Tsun being Tsun is more relevant than the kinda esoteric notion of these deities are aspects of Sithis. Tsun is literally the nord interpretation of that particular god and that shapes his existence. So of course he has the sense of nordic/warrior honor which the dark brotherhood is in antithesis to. I still think it would be interesting if they delved into this aspect of the lore a little bit deeper though.
I actually interpret Sithis as being an aspect of Padomay, and that Lorkhan was born from Padomay. The gods of TES can be very split in their personalities, especially when you look at the fact Auriel and Akatosh are supposed to be the same god.

If a toe-to-toe fight is called for, i play by the rules of survival, where my opponent remains entrapped in his own honor. Poisoned blades? Sure! Pocket Sand? Why not. groin kick? only if i'm behind. i'm here to kill them, not cause unnecessary pain. Unless your name is Commander Maro.
out of game - i LOVE stealth based gameplay in just about any game. i don't actually use poison, mostly because i either A) forget to use it, or B) accidentally drink it somehow and now I'M poisoned. or am i thinking eating the ingredients...? either way, same result. usually i just sell it, potions lose me after health, stamina and invisibility. I really didn't like commander Maro, but i won't say i don't understand why he attacked the DB. It makes sense, but he also got most of the DB killed, and that also led to me having to pop Astrid, a character i actually really liked, and i saw where she came from too. and on top of everything, they have a fantastic looking armor set. edit - i do sometimes wish the stat lines were better tho, might change that in one of the mods im working on(off and on, never constantly between work and school)

@Alexander Like Destati said, the question of which fraction to choose is so old as the greybeards. Ulfric has the right of being the high king decided in the duel with torygg. So the empire should have accept that and fuck off insted of fighting in a land they are not welcome anymore and killing their own man. Skyrim is a land of talos and they rather die than denying him. They could have gone peacefully and someday fighting the aldmeri together again. So its not just one sided you see.
@@TheDestati I agree with Alexander for other reasons, but mostly because of how Ulfric went about it, I don't think he'd be a good high king, first of all if you visit his hold it's out of order and few of his citizens get along, he brushes off the problems of his civilians, and there's a murderer on the loose that they aren't exactly going out of their way to find. He's already not a good Jarl, he is a good warrior though. Second, he could have gone about Torygg's position entirely different, as many of the solitude court members will illude to the fact that they thought he was just asking him to step down from his position as High King which would've made Skyrim independent and the nation would still be unified, so in the event the Empire tried to take it back they probably would've been able to fight them off being that they'd have many more able bodied citizens willing to fight. Third, starting the civil war is just weakening Skyrim for the Thalmor. Whoever wins will probably be brought down by the Altmer Dominion seeing as they'd already be weakened and the Altmer Dominion are kind of assholes. Fourth, you can speak with Legate Rikke, who is a nord fighting for the imperials, about how she feels about Talos and frankly she doesn't care, most imperials will tell you the same, just don't openly and loudly worship Talos and no one cares but the Thalmor, who would reasonably care being that their whole thing is proving that mer are better than man but when one man becomes a divinity that kinda distinguishes any argument they have. Fifth, the way he took down Torygg was kinda dishonest, he used his shout to disarm him, it wasn't much of a duel if you ask me, and I know many will disagree with this, but he blindsided him, it was and unevenly matched duel, it was the equivalent of bringing a gun to a knife fight, you can usually tell the clear victor. And he doesn't plan on leaving the war at that after winning, he plans on taking it to the Altmer, and seeing how the last war had to be ended in The White Gold Concord we can only imagine how many lives will be lost, along with the fact of the nation still probably being divided. Now I have seen from Ulfric's perspective and I understand why he feels the way he does but honestly I still feel he's a bad ruler and wouldn't be fit for high king, with the conclusion of my argument being that no matter who you might think is right Skyrim is better off with the Empire, as much as I agree with freedom of religion, everyone is safer if they stick with the treaty with the Altmer. Overall however I think the entire Civil War was stupid they should've paused the war to focus on the dragon problem and the only reason they even think about it is if you call a treaty with the Greybeards for them to hault it until the dragon threat has been rid of.

tbh no stone unturned isn't difficult if you take it hold by hold. quite a few are available as part of main or guild questlines. some of them are out of the way like Black Briar Lodge the ship north east of Solitude, Rannveig's Fast, and Ansilvund, but afaik more than half are just in or around big cities. There's 2 in Solitude, 3(!) in Whiterun, 2 in Windhelm, 1 in Winterhold, 1 in Riften, 2 in Markarth, 2 *near* Falkreath and 1 on the road there from either Whiterun or Markarth. it just ends up being time consuming more than anything else. quickest run i had getting all the gems was 3 days, with the last one obtained being the dark brotherhood sanctuary. good luck.

If you do the plate-clip glitch on the rubble that's collapsed right outside of where the crown is (Or tcl through it), you can skip the entire gem-fetching. As long as you get the crown you can finish the quest. Literally easier than the nirnroot.

Aside from the Dragonborn answer, I feel the College of Winterhold response is the ideal way to go. It's good to know that there are those among Skyrim's dead who still have a high respect for mages, aside from the College. Tsun is right about the Clever Craft; it is a difficult skill to learn for most humans, but is rewarding to master due to the raw power it contains. Many modern Nords and Stormcloaks say they honor and follow their ancient ancestors. Were that fully true, a good Nord would bow their head in respect at the sight of an experienced mage. Belrand in Solitude is a Nord who I feel is worthy of note due to his respect for the Clever Craft.
If you happen to be a Nord player or Stormcloak sympathizer, make your ancestors and those who reside in Sovngarde proud by utilizing magic, if only a healing spell or a simple potion. They would smile down upon you for this respect of the Clever Craft.

It's interesting, because historical barbarians were superstitious, and were known to treat magic with a great amount of respect, and mystical figures, often referred to as druids, were sought after for advice or wisdom.

Don't feel bad, There are 5 other games of the elder scrolls Lore, and not everyone has payed every game, or read every piece of canon lore.
I myself, only own Skyrim, and Skyrim special edition.
To my knowledge, the other 5 games are:
Arena(I believe this is the first game),
Daggerfall(I think it's the second game),
Marrowwind(3rd game),
Oblivion(4th game), and
Redguard(Not quite sure if this is a spin off or a game that is supposed to be a 2.5, it came out before Marrowind, and may not be considered Canon.).

Wearing a full set of daedric does help you pass an intimidation check, but honestly I did this in a full set of dragon armor that was pretty OP in stats and he almost wrecked me

Tsun serves Shor, whiich is just the Nordic version of Lorkhan. Lorkhan was born of Sithis and I wonder if this is classic Bethesda lore rewrite, or if Shor/Tsun have a nuanced opinion on the void and the essence of change. OR if the dark brotherhood really isn't "serving" sithis in a legitimate way
The Dark brotherhood has made many great accusations on how sithis works and his role in the grand scheme. The fact that Sithis would get mad over things so small it is beyond his comprehension is sort of laughable. Lorkhan is an aedra with padomaic tendencies, just as his vice versa Jyggalag is a daedra with anuaic tendencies. Sithis might have played a role with Lorkhan tricking the aedra, but those are the words that come from a cult who don't know what they are actually worshiping. Mankind worship Lorkhan because lorkhan created them(or so says man) or because lorkhan made mortals of Aedra's descendants and mankind, being more mortal than elves sees a hero against elves.

I think Tsun doesn't care about who or what you worship. I think he cares about who you are. In this case, you are a murderer, not a hero. He says that you may be able to enter Shor's hall if you change from being an assassin. You can still worship sithis, you just can't be an assassin. That's what I think.
I agree that the Dark Brotherhood perception of serving Sithis is most likely not literal or at least not obvious. Sithis is just the force of change, chaos, the void etc. (which i guess assassination might serve in a roundabout way). Ultimately I guess Tsun being Tsun is more relevant than the kinda esoteric notion of these deities are aspects of Sithis. Tsun is literally the nord interpretation of that particular god and that shapes his existence. So of course he has the sense of nordic/warrior honor which the dark brotherhood is in antithesis to. I still think it would be interesting if they delved into this aspect of the lore a little bit deeper though.
I actually interpret Sithis as being an aspect of Padomay, and that Lorkhan was born from Padomay. The gods of TES can be very split in their personalities, especially when you look at the fact Auriel and Akatosh are supposed to be the same god.
