- We know the car is fast, but can you drive it every day? We borrowed a Hellcat Challenger for a week and found out that it doesn’t need to sit in the garage all week. It’s powerful, but it’s tame enough to drive all week long.

i know some people think this American muscle car hype is stupid. i heard the Hellcat motor can reach up to 800hp if you tweak it a bit.
Motor trend got 671 rwhp thats over 750 and going by the weight of the car i tend to believe it.

I have seen dyno numbers from 620s to motortrends 671 stock. I think the numbers vary depending on atmospheric conditions on that day and the dyno system used. In theory, all the engines are tested to be very close to each other off of the production floor. They all get dynoed before being shipped off. Are you guys going off of 15% drivetrain loss? With these modern cars, it can be closer to 10 maybe 12% loss, but typically a HC dynos around 650 maybe 660, so it would be around 720/725 hp at the crank which is kind of what I heard is the real number from dodge people I know, so yes they are not 707, but more.💪
You should have had a fan feeding air into the car on the dyno. Would've gotten more hp.

Great video. I'm confused though, Dodge says it's 707 horsepower, and your dyno put it at 624 hp? What's the discrepancy?
this 707 Horsepower is at the Crank of the motor. The 624 are at the motor. This is pretty normal. All cars will not have the amount of horsepower on a dyno wich are written it should have. At least if you don't calculate it upwards to the crank.

Compared to the older model, how does the shifter feel? I had a 2012 SRT 6spd and what I found was that when you go into gear the shifter itself would "wag"
The shifter is pretty good. On this car, second was a little trashed, probably from all the slamming gears, but other than the occasional issue with the synchros going into second gear, it was pretty nice.
mascotgraphics yeah mine had a 2nd gear issue, Maybe a barton short throw shifter will fix it up.
Its got 707HP why is needing to do a brake stand burn out???
I watched another youtube channel video and the guy put it on the dyno and it said 756hp from the factory now 624hp im confused
Justin Perelli The 756 was the 624ish hp with SAE corrections for drivetrain loss. The number he got was the hp at the rear tire, not the full potential of the engine alone. Many people are finding out the Fiat/Chrysler may have lied about the horsepower in these cars. It could also be the break in that the engine gets which could give it a little extra power after some light use.
It'd look waaay better with body-color wheels.

yeah the weight eats all the power. Caddy ATS-V is 0-60 fast as this with "only" 466hp V6Turbo.
new C7 only 0,1-0,2sec. less with a NA 466hp V8.
BMW M4 the same.
kubanskiloewe Its designed that way they use the weight to get (some of) the power to the road how else do you get 700+hp RWD to the road on street tires

kubanskiloewe yea but its not also more powertrain loss with AWD and building a powertrain that handles 700+ hp isnt cheap remember they wanted to make a car that is affordable for everyone

i agree, and yeah for you US people it´s still affordable....for us in europe/germany 77000 €´s that´s Porsche price level !
