And to be honest, on bass there are specific bass fuzzes (e.g.ElectroHarmonix bass fuzz Pi), but as far as I'm concerned, a guitar fuzz on bass will make it sound like a fuzz even more. Bass plus fuzz plus a little (or a lot) of reverb and you're going to achieve a very meditative, almost temple-atmosphere sound.

I should compare one near the other the classic big muff Pi for guitar and the big muff for bass on my bass to tell, I have only the classic Pi for guitar and as you say it doesn't seem to me to cut the low end, especially not if you use the filter on behalf of it.

Makes sense because the original Maestro Fuzz Tone was originally marketed to make a bass sound like such orchestral instruments
