The overlooked magic to their sound is the drums playing as far behind the beat as possible. They are the only band I can listen to again. Just like 25 years ago.
The bass tone is fucking tremendous, from a video it sounds like one of the best I've ever heard so I can only imagine how hard it hits live. I need to see these boys live to feel the sonic assault in person.
This video really represents one of the aspects of heavy metal that i appreciate. Here we have a band thats been around the block a while, yet, now that they are approaching middle age there is no problem going on stage without a shirt, belly hanging out and ass crack in the back for added viewing pleasure. See, metal isn't the music of the 'pretty' people (late 80s excepted). These guys... not so pretty. Lemmy kilmister, not so good looking, same for half of the bands that wear the morgue paint. You think Jay-z or Justin Timberlake would do a show looking like this? Hell no. So, what does this all mean? Well, metal accepts you the way you are. No pretension. No gettting by on looks and no talent.

Earsplitting!
That 15 min version of sonic titan blew my fucking mind so cosmic and heavy, defiantly the best performance of it
WOW, A LOT HAS HAPPENED IN my life since that fist "dragonaut" view from the film"gummo"musicalizing that sensless life of those kids, living in the middle of nowhere, without somebody to take care of them, without mercy...sleep playing in the background as another character in the story.... back then, i thought this band was just my kind of stuff : greasy, soliled sound , along with those ever importan for me bizzarre lyrics, to create a surreal atmosphere, dense and hypnotic, damn, the stuff nightmares are made of.... certainly, stoner bands are not for anyone, but for the ones who love them, this is like that "perfect storm" so many are looking for, with or without "substances" this is sacred ground...ALL HAIL SLEEP !!!! thanks for sharing this , man....
I’ve been coming back-and-forth to this video since it was posted this is Beethoven for Gen X
LOVE how powerful Pike's guitar tone sounds here
Been following this band since forever 😎😎😎😎😁😇
I've seen high on fire and OM live but never Sleep, it's my next step to seeing greatness
The overlooked magic to their sound is the drums playing as far behind the beat as possible. They are the only band I can listen to again. Just like 25 years ago.
Still relevant in my world after all these years
I must've listened to this at least 100 times. Certainly some of the best guitar work I've ever heard.
I wish i could buy this on audio format! I listen to this all the time.
Marc Williams I download all my favorite vids on you tizzzzube can listen offline anytime give it a shot
Thanks for up loading this. I really enjoy listening to it.
I don't have enough "likes" for this video. What a great show.
The bass tone is fucking tremendous, from a video it sounds like one of the best I've ever heard so I can only imagine how hard it hits live. I need to see these boys live to feel the sonic assault in person.
Matt Pike's awesome posterior cleavage
Back on Christmas Eve to enjoy this delightful performance.
J. Donald Knotts sameeee
the peak moments in the history of fuzzy stoner music, no doubt.
this is a fucking ritual. raw, intimate, deep and heavy.
Got powerful a yen to worship at Matt Pike's stupendous beergut.
This is a gun upload. Thankyou, crypticdon.
its a lot like the blues
+Chris S. pentatonic bliss
Luke Anthony yup :-)
Love Sleep & High on Fire...Pike is a true Riff Lord!
Greatest guitar, bass, drums tone/tones!
Tones for dayzzzzz 🤘💚🤘
My soul swims in them.
No gettting by on looks and no talent.
jay z isnt a pretty boy either lol
That was awesome! The intro sounds like the first couple minutes of the Melvins Lysol album.
I work taking care of a guy with autism. After a 76 hour shift, it can be difficult to transition out of Autismland. For the past 6 months, a little Blue Dream and this show have set my brain right,
