Just replaced the whole pump, $80 dollars for new pump on Amazon. I also added a external downloader valve with a blow off so when I let off sprayer it won't overheat the pump. Videos on u tube about adding external download valve. Thanks for your video, I have a friend that will probably follow your instructions, it's a money thing.
Have now used this to clean house siding and it performed well th-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX I also bought some wand extensions which enabled higher washing without needing a ladder. I recommend both. This unit arrived quickly, was easy to assemble (only had to attach the handle), and arrived in perfect condition. The only very slight downgrade from a perfect score is the design has a low handle and requires pulling from the side. My old washer was an upright model, while this one is more horizontal. Other than that, it's perfect for my needs. It has a great deal of pressure and more easily cleaned the house siding, porch rails and concrete than did my older model. The engine is a bit louder, as well, but the total time to clean was reduced by the more powerful spray. Did I mention it starts on the first or second pull every time?!! I am definitely happy with this model.
melted = run dry, or run with trigger NOT depressed. Do not run engine unless moving water. That is why electric which sghut-off when trigger not pulled last longer (but crapier quality). Thanks for video. Comments from all people also priceless.
There will always be resistance within the pump itself without the PRESSURE WASHER gun trigger being depressed because there's nowhere for the water to flow once to unload valve is released. It just builds up pressure. It's completely normal, but typically it gets better once the pump gets worn in a bitbeing that you just rebuild the pump head you pretty well have a new pump. Whenever someone says their pump is blown or their pump is leaking and it's no good. It's almost always the pump head assembly that's either cracked or needs to be rebuilt and often times the unloader valve itself will stick due to the hard water provided by the Various municipalities. A Countermeasure to help with the hardness of city WATER is to use an in-line RV water filter they're about $15 for a good one. It will take out most of the contaminants but keep in mind. It will also create a restriction by about 50% for the most part, this doesn't seem to be a problem if you have at least 4 gallons per minute coming out of your garden hose typically 40 to 80 psi depending on various water demands throughout the day. Another pro tip is too utilize pump saver antifreeze at the end of the season prior to putting the unit away. This will also ensure the water is drained from the pump head so as to not have it freeze over the cold winter if you live in an area that gets below freezing.. it also lubricates the O-rings and seals within the pump head assembly in order to recondition the internal components for the following season. It's not unheard of to have a pressure washer pump last 5 to 10 years, dependent on upkeep as I just mentioned as well as using synthetic pump oil will also increase the longevity of the pump assembly..
Thank you. Since I have had no issues with the pump unit, I did not know that could be a problem. I appreciate your comment and I hope that helps someone.
Noticed you bled the line, turned water valve off then started the machine and opened the valve again, your problem will happen again, never start it dry even for a moment and never let it run for an extended period of time without using the power washer.
At Amazon here are all three parts even though I only replaced two. AR2235 Pressure Washer Pump Water Seal Kit AR 2840561 Bushings for RMW Pressure Washer Pump AR2233 Replacement Pressure Washer Valve Kit
I pulled one out and measured the bolt. M8 x 1.25 x 40mm Socket head cap screw that needs a 6mm Allen wrench. Of course you can also get a hex head if you want. Home Depot, Amazon, and Lowes have them.
No but, I saw where the water flow left indications so I put them in the same position as I saw originals in. Basically they formed a triangle when looking at the center point.
@@A_Renaissance_Man I got it from a video here. I finally got the head back on and now the darn thing acts like the pump is keep the motor from running, I think I will give up and go buy a new one.
This is the new one that started leaking. In this video I repaired the leak instead of replacing the pump. Mainly because of the cost and I want to sell the gasoline driven pressure washer for an electric one.
I use Amazon for this part. You can also purchase the individual pieces if you don't want to buy or pay the cost of a pressurizer. I have a video on the piece parts too.
Here is what I purchased; Bushings for RMW Pressure Washer Pump and AR2235 Water Seal Kit Replacement for RMW & RMV Power Pressure Washer Pump. You may also need; Replacement Pressure Washer Valve Kit, RMW Series Pumps.
@@A_Renaissance_Man Just wondering. I have to replace the washers in mine about every 3-5 year depending on how much I use it. Where I'm at we have extremly hard water. The minerals in the water slowly destroy the gaskest's & washers like a sandblasting effect. They look like the ones you were showing. That's why I was asking. Being 15yr old the material just broke-down. Great video keep em up.👍
I actually agree with you. What can I say, unscripted Blah, Blah, Blah from someone just trying to fix something. Thank you for pointing that out and I will try to improve.

Going to be replacing my pump here very soon, great info and nice job on the repair.
Me too,.mine leaks water into the crank case and come out from the filler cap on my Comet AXD 2424 pump
You should also keep trigger pulled while starting and cutting off always hold trigger on wand.
Thank you.
I zip tie my handle open and just start it on ideal also let water run for a while after shut down,20 minutes at least
Tennis ball does the trick too plus will make it easier when using don't have to hold trigger open@@philliphall5198
one thing you didn't mention is the pump housing can corrode - check it very carefully. pitting on it can cause water leaks

I have the same issue. Do you have the parts numbers by chance?
At Amazon here are all three parts even though I only replaced two.
AR2235 Pressure Washer Pump Water Seal Kit
AR 2840561 Bushings for RMW Pressure Washer Pump
AR2233 Replacement Pressure Washer Valve Kit
Washer or o ring s
I recently acquired a pressure washer with the pump head off, and the bolts missing. Do you know what size bolts?
I pulled one out and measured the bolt.
M8 x 1.25 x 40mm Socket head cap screw that needs a 6mm Allen wrench.
Of course you can also get a hex head if you want. Home Depot, Amazon, and Lowes have them.
@@A_Renaissance_Man thank you so much!
Any particular position for the plastic washers?
No but, I saw where the water flow left indications so I put them in the same position as I saw originals in. Basically they formed a triangle when looking at the center point.
Ok thank you.
the easy way to get the valves out is to use needle nose pliers to pull the plastic, then use an easy out for the other piece.
@@shortypalmer2560 Thank you for your great advice

Looks like the pressure was not released and over heated it
They all over Amazon
The shiny pistons need to have the rubber removed from them or over time it may destroy your new seals
Excellent. Thank you very much for that info.
I’m confused, you did a video 3 years ago where you replaced the pump, is the the new pump that went bad?
This is the new one that started leaking. In this video I repaired the leak instead of replacing the pump. Mainly because of the cost and I want to sell the gasoline driven pressure washer for an electric one.
Where u find the pump head at

How much oil should I pour into the pump?
Well the pump will only hold 4-6 oz. so a half a cup would fill it up.
What are the part numbers and what did you search on amazon tks
Here is what I purchased;
Bushings for RMW Pressure Washer Pump
and
AR2235 Water Seal Kit Replacement for RMW & RMV Power Pressure Washer Pump.

Replacement Pressure Washer Valve Kit, RMW Series Pumps.
@@A_Renaissance_Man thank you
Most of the time it’s the head that needs replaced, because it frozen and cracked
Keep all of the old ones for parts
Seals leak
Sold everywhere. Its an AR (Annovi Reverberi) parts sold everywhere All Parts Equipment to name one. You make it seem harder than it is. Simple fix.
Do you have hard water?
No hard water, but even though I changed the pump head, I never put new parts in. They were 15 years old.
