    Got that pressure washer running good now so you can clean that deck that you worked so hard on. You are a hard working man.

      That's exactly the way it happens!! It was tough as the pressure washer was really struggling and would barely spray at all even with the pressure of a regular garden hose. Thanks for watching Rita! 🛠️

    Great video , i have a pro plus pressure washer with a pump like that but needs oil i dumped the oil that was in there out 125mls i replaced it with SAE 30 like i was advised by the shop but it ran like crap and seized every so often not producing any pressure , when i took off the water inlet a mixture of what i believe was oil and water came out , i'm new to this machine and was given no instruction booklet from previous owner my question is what oil i do i use and have i caused damage using the wrong oil ?
    The previous owner was my dad who has recently passed so i know what work this machine has done and its next to none as he wasn't very savvy either with this machine .

    Nice replace instructions, very thorough as always. I used a power washer a few times in the past and I thought it was fun. Thanks for another useful video! 🤗👍🏼

    Hello. I have an HDS 8/17-4M machine that is having an error when switching to eco mode but cannot heat water. There is no error message on the screen. I hope to receive help from you and everyone. Thank you.

    I have been picking up used pressure washers listed with description runs but not building pressure. Not leaking..... been usually finding them with Honda motors very similar to yours for no more than 50$(once I paid 75).
    I am only sharing this because I think you missed the number 1 reason for you symptoms, "A malfunctioning😮 check Valve. Every time I have purchased a unit with a pump that had little to no pressure building, it was always the check valve. Such an easy fix. The best part is not once did I need to buy a new valve, only remove and lubricate it and reinstall,!! That's it!!.., ( 3 pumps saved0 on gas and twice on an electric unit,,) that's 5 fixed, zero failure and zero ,$spent !!
    The only times it was a ruined pump the pump was cracked and leaking . ( I avoid them if the pump is leaking or cracked, because of the cost to buy a new pump) hope this is useful for the future content..

      Yes I totally agree at 0:30 I begin to talk about serviceable items including check valves. In my case the service lifetime had been far exceeded so the pump needed replaced. That's awesome you're finding some deals and fixing up the pressure washers, thanks for watching!

      @Patrick-fp2gj - how did you remove the check valves without destroying the check valve? I'm sure it can be done, just checking on how you do this.

      So on this specific pump in my video (ANNOVI REVERBERI, RMV25G30D) it comes prefilled with oil. In addition here are the manufacturer notes about the oil:
      "Capacity 2.2 ounces: Do NOT change oil. Use oil only to add if low. This oil is a specially formulated synthetic with special additives for the demands of the XJ, SJ, BK and RMV pump series. No other oil is factory approved for these pumps, and could result in pump failure."

    Did you have any problems removing the hose from the old pump? I don't have water pump pliers but my slip joint pliers usually get the job done. Have I missed any special technique required to remove the hose?

    • @TheEclecticHandyman
      @TheEclecticHandyman  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello - so not sure by 'hose' if you mean the small, clear hose used for cleaner, or the actual water hose. For the water hose I remove it after each use so it's not difficult to remove. As for the clear hose used for siphoning the cleaner through the pump, my new pump came with a brand new hose so I didn't need to remove the old one. Even if I did have to remove it for some reason and it was stuck, I'd probably just cut it off at the base (removing like 1") and reinstall on the new pump as that 1" wouldn't matter. Thanks for watching! 🛠️

      I have had luck with hot water, then reassembled with anti seize, this is a frequent issue with garden hoses as well

      Yeah that's not surprising as they often will rust on the shaft. I speak to the technique around the 8:50 mark to use if it's stubborn coming off. Spray lots of penetrant spray as well to help it break loose from the shaft. th-cam.com/video/Auw6S-OZYEI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6NoZeYl0WGhnGARp&t=533

    Can you not upgrade a pump? I have to get a replacement pump for a magnum 4000 series gold I just got for cheap. I looked it up and it looks like the pump is a 3.5gpm. But there’s so many pumps that look just like it? Could I get a 4 or even 5.5gpm pump to replace it with and have an even better pressure washer? What’s the limitations on that? Why wouldn’t it be able to be done? Help I’m a complete beginner lmao

    • @TheEclecticHandyman
      @TheEclecticHandyman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My concern would be the motor isn't powerful enough for the higher rated water pump and wouldn't work correctly. Probably best to stay with the OEM setup and specs and avoid any headaches.

    • @wantedxx7
      @wantedxx7 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheEclecticHandyman it’s a 15hp motor, if the pump is calling for a minimum of 11hp or so wouldnt that still be okay? I’m looking at trying to get a 4gpm so I can run a 16in surface cleaner if possible.

    • @TheEclecticHandyman
      @TheEclecticHandyman  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wantedxx7 Yeah there is a common formula to calculate required horsepower needs based on GPM and PSI. Looks like at 3500 PSI and 5.5GPM, the calculation is for 11-12HP. Check it out here: www.metaris.com/hp-calculator.php

    • @wantedxx7
      @wantedxx7 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheEclecticHandyman oh man it looks like I would need 12.8 hp for a 5.5gpm! So I should be okay to do this? In your opinion? I guess another concern I didn’t think about until now would be whether the burner could keep up with the increased flow? What are your thoughts? I’m thinking if I can upgrade this magnum to a 5.5gpm I won’t really have to worry about upgrading to a better pressure washer for a much longer time. The minimum recommended for the business is 4gpm so this would keep me for a bit
