WOWOWOWOWOW!!! What fantastic, scenic views on this flight!! Definitely worth the 2-hour eastward jet lag. Anyhow, I'm going to rest up from the jet lag by watching a Lifetime movie. :)
Wonder why they slammed on the brakes during the taxi in Las Vegas around the 10:40 mark. Seemed like a pretty abrupt stop and then they started taxiing again right after. Anyways, looked like a beautiful flight! Idk why, but I just love those Heart livery, split scimitar -700’s! More and more of them now! 😁
That's a great question. One we never got an answer on haha. It was very abrupt. To the point where I thought there must be something wrong, but as you saw, we started taxiing again almost instantly. With never a mention of it from the crew. So, we'll probably never know. Thanks for watching man!
That's almost always an ATC thing. Typically when you're Eastbound on Taxiway C like you were, it's because Ground tells you to give way to traffic inbound to the D Gates via C4, C5, C6 etc. At 12:08 you can clearly see the Delta Airbus entering the ramp at C6. That's why you stopped. The reason the crew didn't say anything was because there was nothing to say. They were complying wth an ATC instruction. Occasionally ATC instructions change or are issued quickly, so while it may seem to be "slamming on the brakes" to an untrained observer, getting 150,000lbs of 737 to stop in time to avoid a traffic conflict sometimes requires dissipating a lot of inertia.
Did you arrive at LAS at the Alpha gates since this is where the video begins? Looking like SWA departs from the Charlie gates if I can read the gate signs above the jetway--that abrupt braking at LAS--that is a LOT of weight to stop moving in a short distance--my guess would be that some ramp person didn't give your flight the ROW as normally mandated. Where did your flight arrive from in LAS? Flying east to ICT then continuing on back west to DEN! Have no desire to keep going? :) Looking at the landscape on final, with a little imagination, we could just as well be arriving in Joplin! Wouldn't that be nice if SWA had flights there! And again, the pilot displayed his love for quick braking at ICT, even heard a passenger making a statement about it! Did you overnight?
Yes, unfortunately, I flew in on Allegiant haha. One of the airlines I tend to avoid. But on this day, flying in from Bellingham, it was the only option haha. And no, I had no desire to fly on to DEN haha. My car was at ICT and the 3.5 hour drive home from ICT becomes 12 hours from DEN haha. And no overnight in Wichita. As I just mentioned, my car was there, so I drove home and overnighted in my own bed haha.
Brakes? CHECK!! I noticed everyone wore masks in LAS but very few in ICT? Does each airport establish its own policy? Beautiful video as usual. What camera do you use and what kind of suction cup do you use to mount on the window or how else do you do that? Thank you!!!
They definitely checked the brakes didn't they haha. Not sure what that was about, there was never any mention of it from the crew, and I never saw anything that would explain it. As for the masks. This was in March, about 3 weeks before the nationwide mandate was lifted. At that time, there were a lot of airpots in the Midwest/South that had outright stopped enforcing, or even mentioning the mandate. Tulsa, Joplin, Wichita, Kansas City, and other airports around where I lived had outright told people they had to wear one on the plane, otherwise they couldn't fly, but they were not going to enforce the mandate anymore. My closest airport is Joplin, and they had long before taken down the signs saying there was a federal mask mandate. Way before the mandate ended. So, I think it was more of regional thing. There were a lot of airports that were "done" with the masks, well before the mandate ended. As for cameras, I film everything on the channel with iPhones. I currently use a 1TB iPhone 13 Pro, and I also travel with two 512GB iPhone 12 Pros in case I run out of space, or need a backup. I then hold the camera by hand, to avoid jitters from transferring into the lens of the camera when filming. As always, I'm glad you enjoyed the video my friend! Thanks for watching!
@@sla31 Wow! Thank you for the explanation. I thought you were using a GoPro camera which I just bought (the 10) so now I wonder if I spend all that money for nothing. GoPro is very nice and much easier to handle. You hold the phone with your hand the whole time without any jiggling?
They still fly to LAS form ICT, but it might not be at the same time anymore. It's still listed as one of their destinations. Thanks for watching my friend!
Great fly! Not related to flying but have you heard of the Inflation Reduction Act bill passed by the Senate on August 7th and waiting for House to take the bill by end of this week and give it to the President Biden for his signature? What do you think? Also have you heard the inflation rate went down to 8.5% from 9.1%?

You mean waiting for the ATC signal?

Happy Friday skylite
Great flight. I am planning to fly on Southwest Airlines very soon. From what I have heard it is a great airline.
You can hear the flight attendant commenting about you holding the camera mid-flight
Cool video
Thumb up for Skylite.
Thanks my friend!
I love the view of it too 👍

Into Wichita! You know what that means to me and I love the work.
Do you live in Wichita? I’ve always wanted to see The Keeper of The Plains.
@@baileyostrom2972 I grew up there and graduated high school there. I definitely recommend it and especially the artistic community.

I honesty haven't been following that at all, so I'd have to read up on it before I said anything.
