I've been flying in and out of Burbank Airport for 40 years, and the only time I've ever landed on Rwy. 33 was on my very first flight into BUR in May 1976 at age 18, on a Continental Airlines B-727 from Seattle, WA via Portland, OR. Likewise, I remember it being a very bumpy approach into some pretty stiff headwinds on short final, followed by a somewhat hard landing. Thank you for sharing that.
Great all-around view of lots of the SFV and LA. The Santa Ana winds almost always make for great visibility by blowing away the smog. Thanks for posting!
@@OmnipotentEnt It's rare in the day time, but not at night. If it's a calm evening, flights arriving at LAX between midnight and 6am (ish) will land eastbound (over the ocean) on one end of the airport (while take offs continue westbound on the other side) in order to reduce noise over the city. But that can only be done if it's a really calm night. Have had a few early morning flights out of LAX and saw the eastbound landings just before the switch back to the regular service. Also have had to pick up people late at night, and it's annoying to get to the airport "on-time" only to see that they switched the pattern and you have to wait another 5-10 minutes.

An approach on 33 is not that rare. It is their usual approach when the wind patterns and strength shifts.
True. I feel like landing on the 06 or 07 side of LAX is a bit rarer, seeing as that's a few days out of the year. Usually it's just 24 and 25 side.
