    BWI is one airport that I've never been to. The only time I ever flew on SW was back in December 2006 going from SEA to ABQ to spend the X-Mas holiday with my family in Sante Fe, NM. SW was the only airline that offered fares below $500 pp and was also the only airline that offered direct or non-stop runs. When you fly during X-Mas time, you want to avoid having to make connections anywhere.
    Anyhow, another good video. It's now time for me to rest up from the jetlag. :)

      Thanks my friend. As always, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Honestly, I just try to avoid flying during holidays altogether haha.

    I used to fly out of Baltimore to and from Atlanta numerous times when my grandmother was alive on southwest and delta. So I know that airport inside and out, lol

    Great fly! Have you heard Delta pilot is currently striking against Delta for low pay and overscheduling which leads to delay for passengers? What do you think?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've heard. They're technically picketing. They call it a strike to make it sound worse, but it's technically illegal for airline employees to "strike." Airline employees fall under the Railway Labor Act, which classifies them as crucial to the counters transformation infrastructure, and makes it illegal for them to strike. Ultimately, it's a tool they use to get public support to try to get the airline to negotiate with them. I think they have legitimate points, so we'll see what happens.

    Thanks for another full flight video. Just one thing, did the mask regulations become strict again in USA? I remember sometime last year it looked like people were beginning to relax a bit on flights, now it looks like it is mandatory to wear masks again.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, if anything they've gotten more laxed. I think that's a word, haha. The last couple of times I've flown, almost no one was wearing masks. This flight was filmed just a couple of days after the mask mandate was stuck down. This was my return flight from Iceland. I flew PLAY from KEF-BWI on their inaugural flight to the US and the mask mandate had only been gone for one or two days. So, there were still a lot of people wearing masks when this was filmed.

    What's with the extra winglet on the winglet?, not seen them before?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a split scimitar winglet. It's designed to reduce even more drag than the standard single winglet. They're very common on generation 737's. Untied, Delta, Southwest, and Alaska all utilize them on large portions of their next gen fleets. The 737 Max series also has split winglets like you see here, although they're not called split scimitar winglets like on the next get.

    Can you share how you get the camera to stay put on the window?

    • @executiveflyer_
      @executiveflyer_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are two ways:
      1) place your phone to the "glass", and close the window shade [downside, not seeing it for yourself]
      2) buy a phone hand holder, apply a two sided sticker to it, and stick it to the "glass" [don't worry about the sticker leaving stick on the window, flight attendence automatically wipe down mostly everything before boarding. Most youtubers use this tactic.
      Hope this information helped!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, Landocando has left a couple of options, however, neither are what I do. To make sure I get the absolute best quality possible, I hold the camera by hand. Almost all the time. The two options Lando suggests are the easiest, but will not get the quality of footage you see in this video. The first option doesn't allow you to even see what's being filmed, and since the phone is touching the window, the final footage will likely be full of vibrations and jitters. The second option listed, I wouldn't advise doing. Many airlines frown upon people sticking anything to their millions of dollars aircraft. Sticking your camera to the plane using any type of adhesive is likely a good way to get you in trouble with the flight attendants. What most people do is use a suction cup. Suction cups use, well, suction haha, to stick to the window, which doesn't use any type of adhesive behind, because there is none. However, I also don't do that very often, as you tend to have the same problem. When the phone is attached to the plane in any way, vibrations being transferred to the phone are a big problem. It makes the footage look like you're filming through clear jello. This is why I hold the camera by hand. Here's the proof: th-cam.com/channels/XfF1hCJkFLKjEZxfpcc1aQ.htmlcommunity?lb=Ugkx4zojCXTkMIagLWjqB2kmR0_hTow2_4Ff I also wear all black, and my cameras have black cases. This prevents my arm or skin from reflecting in the window.
