    Since recording this the service guy did show up 3 months after I called, looked at it and said the earliest they'll get back to us is 6 weeks more. Problem is not the compressor as I stated in the video but a sensor in the back with is specific to that unit. He did however say that the compressor likely will fail. Avoid at all costs!!!

    I had a Whirlpool that lasted less than 7 years. I have an LG that is now 15 years old & just now startingto have problems. I will replace it with another LG.

    It looks like they replaced the ice makers on this fridge from what I'm seeing. It doesn't look the same anymore. I wonder if the compressors are the same though. Also to the point that servicemen always complain about Samsung and LG fridges. I believe it has something to do with their popularity because they are in everyone's homes. However, I do think Samsung appliances are worse as a whole when compared to LG. I was considering Whirlpool but after reading through so many reviews they have issues as well. It just seems these newer fridges aren't made the same anymore.

      Guys I talked to basically said with LG and Samsung there’s simply more to break. The ones they recommended were just simpler.

      Samsung refrigerators are terrible. So many issues with ice build up on so many models. Just a nightmare. Because they still work but you get ice buildup and water inside your fridge if you don't open it up and melt it yourself. Then it just get worse and worse till you break and replace it. Lol

      New models in general always go through a fixing and learning process. They should be great now.

      I’m not surprised. I’m almost more pissed I had the cavity built specifically to those dimensions. Obviously there are others that will fit but might have a bigger gap along the edges.

      @@wompdaddy4891 - I heard your compressor at the very start of your video yes it’s noisy but is it the condenser cooling fan by chance making the noise? It might be the compressor or an electronic issue or? Usually if one or the other is still cooling there might be a couple other things it might be ours did the same but than the fridge portion died afterwards. Get ready for the worse case scenario maybe purchase a small apartment size fridge for now about $200 for the kitchen aid 4.8 cubic foot model. To save meats the expensive things this is all I can suggest. The fail rate on the newer model compressors isn’t very high but they do go bad. Mine is four years old LG fridge and it’s compressor is toast and I do mean toast the oil and refrigerate have boiled out - leaked out so it’s complete cooling system needs to be replaced. I have been waiting six weeks now to have it repaired part of that time - 6 days was a communication issue with the repair contractor not ordering the parts for mine.
      If it wasn’t still under warranty it would have cost me roughly $1,900 just to fix it and it’s about a six hour job. We have been living out of ice chest and so far have purchased about $150 in ice not counting the food loss. LG with give you up to $300 to help recover food loss if it’s something defective like a compressor that made you lose your food. Did I suggest being prepared? We basically have a fantastic coffin in our kitchen with a cut out like yours but right now I could careless if a small white fridge went in that opening just give me a working fridge. Not that I would like to be buried in our refrigerator but it’s a nice coffin in our kitchen but after the fact who cares what your buried in. It’s hard to be patient but I was in an accident 44 years ago that left me paralyzed from waist down and it changed my thinking the only way I can look at negative things it we are constantly being tested for what ever I have no idea. Sometimes things we go through might seem like the end of the world but believe me it could be worse is the only way I can deal with it. My adult son just came over this morning with a small 4.8 cubic foot fridge with a separate freezer so with what little food we have left should fit in it. Did I suggest being prepared for the worse - ice chest - a small fridge freezer - and it’s so had emotionally myself being a diabetic and having to keep my meds refrigerated to. Imagine 150,000 defective compressors and one is mine LOL now imagine 150,000 customers like myself with refrigerators that still need repaired not counting newer ones with the newer designed compressor models also. No don’t imagine just be prepared or did I already suggest that. Thanks

    so others shouldn't buy because you got a lemon? The newer version of this is a lot better. I have the 30 CU FT 3 door version with Craft Ice, Instaview Door-in-door and I love it! I had my previous LG for 14 years and only replaced it due to the interior Ice Maker finally dying. Good Luck!

    • @wompdaddy4891
      @wompdaddy4891  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, others shouldn’t buy because every service guy I called said they don’t service LG refrigerators because they are mostly all lemons and the companies don’t have the resources to service them all. Bad control boards, bad compressors are among the most common issues and since recording this video it has broke again and is now outside of warranty. According to the service guys LG is the best in laundry but they make a horrible refrigerator…
