One of my all time favorite books

Thanks for sharing your experience. I can’t afford a freeze dryer and even if I could I don’t want the migraine headache that clearly occurs if you own one. What irks me more than anything are the homesteaders on TH-cam who have been given a freeze dryer by the manufacturer. Any time they have a segment in their video about freeze drying I fast forward it or if they have an entire video on freeze drying I won’t watch any of it. There is one homesteader that I know of on TH-cam - Heidi from Rain Country - who refused a freeze dryer from a manufacturer. Mass respect for her for not accepting their offer. Clearly the people who have been gifted a freeze dryer from the manufacturer are not in a position to give honest reviews.

I got dekoni pads 2 years ago and they are now falling apart completely. Sucks that this is our best option.

Who picked up the machine or did you take it somewhere to be shipped?

I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 pro's and the stock pleather ear pads get my ears hot and sweaty within five minutes of wear. Just unbearable. So I just ordered the hybrid Brainwavz. They look like they'll be cooler than the sheepskin. Do you find a difference between the two when it comes to how hot your ears get?

Just ordered these for my Sennheiser hd 280 pros. The ear pads they come with are pleather and within five minutes of wear, my ears are hot and sweating. They sound great so I'm hoping these Brainwavz hybrid will be better. Wasn't sure whether to get these or the full velour model, but I saw these have perforations for breathability. I need closed back phones for home studio recording but it's been near impossible to keep the original ear pads on my ears for a long session. I'll use them just for recording vocals and switch to my HD-414's for everything else, even though I lose a good bit of bass response with the 414's open construction.

They are amazing. Fit me perfect. Already on 2nd set of ear pads. Upgrade pads make them sound even better. The only complaint I agree with is the cord. You can buy a kit now for that.

$2700 spent and I got 5 uses out of it . cycles are completing and food aint drying not even candy.

So with the exception of the chrome disk are the homestar and ds1 disks interchangeable? Been using the pococo projector for my daughters night light and want to upgrade to something better.

I see in your Chrome disk there is an out-of-place, extra star just below the Big Dipper's handle. I'm an amateur astronomer since 1975, and such obvious things jump out for me. ;) Back in the late '90s I built an all-sky camera that took full hemisphere images of the night sky on medium format slide film. Then I built a projector that used the same lens to project those images inside a portable planetarium I carried around to schools. You could see a richly detailed milky way in natural color (yellowish and bluish) with glowing red nabulae. The field of view was actually 200 degrees, meaning that even a bit of a distance below the horizon was captured, showing the surrounding landscape. I had a variety of images, including from Australia and from Arizona during the close approach of comet Hyakutake, whose tail stretched almost halfway across the sky (76 degrees long.)

I order both of them, but I won't try the sheepskin until winter, since where I live is very hot (Brazil) and because of that I will probably just use the hybrid, unless that change the sound too much in a way don't like.

same here I feel like I need payment for all of the crap I have had to do just to getting it to work..dealing with pre arranged phone calls etc...mine was down before the first year...two months dealing with a pump and FINALLY they said to ship it back...so ONCE it came back the freeze dryer would not work!!! so today im shipping it back this all started December 1st almost mid February...trying to find the link again to complete this disaster...hope you got yours back and its working as it should...

do you stil have your machine? there are 2 nuts on the honge of the door that allow you to tighten how the door closes. it looks to me like you didnt have a good seal on your door. if you loosen the nut and tighten the hinge screw untill you see a solid ring form on the acrylic door. Might be worth a shot

I'm actually shipping mine back today. I found your video looking for shipping instructions because I couldn't find my old ones. The machine I'm sending back wouldn't get cold enough to process a batch. I bought 2 freeze dryers, and one has worked flawlessly, while the other is on it's way back for a second time...out of warranty. It cost just over $350 for shipping, and I think they felt bad for me since they didn't fix the problem in the first place (I wouldn't get cold enough), and I'm told repairs will be free. Great customer service, the machines however seem to be hit or miss. If I had only bought one machine that worked great, I'd have a 5 star review. If I only bought the defective unit I'd have a one star review. So, they're a solid 3 stars in my opinion.

From what I can tell, they weren't seen as a simple business practice. He was in collusion with the railroads to keep other companies out of business. With his high rebates he got from the railroads, he could charge way lower prices than his oil competition. In cases, he'd even negotiate ways to get more money from the railroads like a kickback from the shipping money they were getting from competitors. To be fair he was moving WAY more oil than anyone else. Good video, the music is a little loud though.

Picked these up for my m50x, and omg. People say they change the sound signature, but I think it amplifies it. Instead of sitting on your ear, its sitting over it leaving more space for the sound to travel. I think It made the sometimes harsh sounding m50x, more neutral and pronounced. Not even to mention the comfort, they are great and I think everyone should get a pair if they have doubts. The stock pads feel so cheap and almost like it doesnt belong on these cans, and I think its just part of the cost saving of audio technica. Also got the headband saver, they arent flaking but I wanna make sure it never wears out.

Do they change the sound signature compared to stock pads? Thanks
