- Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. It is the coming-of-age story of a young boy named Steven, who grows up with three magical aliens, the "Crystal Gems" Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl, and helps them protect the world from their own kind. A part of Cartoon Network Studios' artist-driven "Shorts Program", Steven Universe is the first Cartoon Network series to be created by a woman, and was developed by Sugar while she worked on Adventure Time as a storyboard revisionist.

No you guys,they actually really don’t. Especially Rebecca Sugar.
For 5 years, I've been preparing for a business management and chemistry pathway... but I've always drawn. I mean, it's so risky and I feel stupid for even thinking this, but I just want to draw. Even now, I neglect physics and english homework, just to write arcs and designs for characters no one really even sees. Don't misunderstand: I'm NOT dumb and lazy. I hear and remember everything my teachers say. I ace the tests. It's just... I want to do something that feeds my soul, something I actually care about, but I don't want to fail and starve... please, can an adult just give me some really good advice? Like forget recruiting and all that for a minute? Maybe take a look at some of my work and give me your straight opinion on my chances of being a story boarder?
Nova Lee Im not an adult so you don't have to take my advice but theres this youtuber called lavendertowne who speaks about this topic. She brings up that one misconception about doing art for a living is you starve, but actually since there is so many social medias and different people with different tastes, you can survive and live on just making art, maybe not immediatly, but eventually. There is also this youtuber named Danica Sills who is a great example of this.
And if you are still not sure but you want to persue art as a profession, heres some advice when I talked to my parents... Have what people consider a "real job" do it, but do your other proffesion on the side, at least in the beginning you will have a steady source of income but you are still doing what you love. If you end up getting enough money from your art profession that you find you no longer need the support of your "real job" then you can stop that job and persue your art profession. In the end, its your choice.

I’m an adult. 33 actually. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a singer. Day and night I spent practicing on my karaoke machine. I let too many other people tell what I should be doing and was also told that there were too many risk in trying to be a recording artist. I gave up on it and now I can’t sing like I used to. Talent is meant to be used. You don’t use it, you lose it. In order to do anything great you HAVE to take risk. If chemistry is not where your heart is, you will be unhappy. You’ll live your life full of what ifs and regrets. You can always go back to school. Put your best foot forward and do what your heart tells you. If it’s meant to be it will happen

I’d say do what you want, no matter the risk, because it’s gonna be what you do for the rest of your life. Keep practicing drawing, don’t give up. You could even start in a profession in management/ chem and later, once you have money, try to become an animator/ storyboarder. But I say go for it.

I'm from Syria and I watch Steven universe from cartoon network arabic I love it soo much that make me so angry because when I started watch it in cartoon network America I see a lot different in cn arabic there is a lot of deleted episodes more than 32 deletes episode and the most of the episode they delete some min like all episode that we see in it Greg and rose they are two and they delete them the both :'(
STICKGIRL ANIMATION Cartoon network arabic censors a lot. Any violence, major romance, or sexual scenes (especially gay ones) are censored.

rebecca sugar is 1000% my role model/idol. Ever since i started watching steven universe as a kid, it inspired me to continue my art and pursue animation, and now here i am, a high school senior applying to the school that THE rebecca sugar went to!! i seriously hope that i can get accepted when i do apply, it's really my dream to get there :)

You said the crystal gems are extremely powerful so why don't they always use all their powers?like I only saw pearl's salikinesis once in the whole series and the gems can jump and they will fly right?why don't they just use it instead of warp pads to just mask island? and why doesn't Steven have a flaming throwing shield when he throws it. I know Steven universe has ended but why'd you leave us with more questions than answers?who are Greg's parents?what's in the chest in lion's mane?what else can lars' do that's so funny? Why? they showed their past and the things that going on in homeworld. Also if it's not enough for you, in may the seventh there are new episodes, so maybe they'll show more about homeworld and all of this things.
Ofer Zilberman eh I kinda have up on the show. I really just hated the last two seasons of it. It's too little too late in my opinion. This Arch should of been wrapped up and a diamond should already be defeated, instead we are learning more about stuff we already know while getting terrible animation in the process. Not only that but the main characters went from likable to almost intolerable in less than two seasons. Only character I like still is peridot and she's hardly in the show at all anymore

Ott Bott college is expensive for a reason. It has something called NETWORKING -some colleges like this can certify you a job at places such as Disney, Cartoon Network, etc. 🤦🏻♂️
Banana And grape oh nah I get schools like SVA, especially any art school is gonna be expensive but college in America is STUPID expensive. Of course it’s gonna cost money but in the UK it’s almost a 3rd of the price. I get schools like SVA and CALARTS are most sought after for their title and access straight into the industry but other schools offer the same opportunity. It’d still be a dream to study at SVA one day
Ott Bott BECAUSE YOU PAY FOR IT THROUGH YOUR TAX SYSTEM! Also notice how all of the uks top school tend to have expensive education mainly because they tend to be private schools. And we have this thing called Financial aid....it literally can get some of the poorest people to get into the best colleges, so I think it’s doing its job pretty fricken well
Banana And grape Ay financial aid helps loads of people but they don’t offer it for international students aiming for SVA Sadly. Being an international student costs a lot but hopefully I could do it at some point
Ott Bott tbh if i were you- I wouldn’t wanna go to America . We are really broken currently and it’s only gonna get worse from now. I’d say stay in the Uk or find a really nice university or universität or whatever it may be called in a specific region. In Europe you guys have such better systems and ways to better citizens I think it just lacks some opportunities that America has but other than that you aren’t missing much and have a lot more cooler, better things

i would love to go to a school like this to do what i love the only problem is that i dont know anything. i just draw and try to make storys but fail maybe its because im not experience or im scared that my dreams will never be reality. my sister doesnt think i could go to a college thats out of state and they say to get a actual job like factorys and crap like that. they dont understand. im stubborn in a passionate way. i guess for right now im going to have self learn but i dont think its helping me much.. wish me luck

great school but if you have to take school loans to go and you have to live in their dorms plan on about 60K a year. for four years that's 240K plus interest you have to pay back. I graduated there in 1969 with 3K in loans when the semester cost was $1000. something to think about
