Hi Paddy, thank you for breaking the stereotype of the Philippines being Third world. A lot of foreigners think our country has only huts and coconut trees and 100% full of poverty. It’s because international and local media only like to highlight the poorest sides of our country. Keep doing what you are doing and you’ll end being one of the famous foreign vloggers in our Country. Filipinos love to watch foreigners vlogging in our country. Cheers!
Thanks. Glad you saw I was being ironic. Some people got offended and I had to explain the above a few times. I’ll pin your comment to the top, for people to read first if they get the wrong idea - missed my intention. Cheers.
Thanks. I made another video of High st last night. It’s totally different vibe at night. I start from the top and walk down the other side. Everyone is out with their dogs and enjoying the many bars and restaurants
Yep, Anthony. I totally plan to. I also made earlier videos of Intramuros. But I have a plans to show all sides of Manila. I just wanted to break down stereotypes with this video and show there are places in the Philippines better than Singapore.
I don't know why people has notion of Philippines as a third world country! Philippines is a developing country, and Filipinos are friendly, warm, very resilient, very skillful, innovative people. I cannot think more other words than to be the best, hence though they doesn't care what other people think.

When I left the Philippines in 1994, BGC doesn´t exist yet. But look how fast they developed the place. I´m from Central Philippines but studied and worked in Manila in the 80s and 90s. Everytime I go home, I booked a flight straight to Cebu. Amazing video. (New subscriber here from Europe).

Greetings from the US and a first-time subscriber! Thanks for sharing this video. I've never been or seen BGC this close. My sister has a condo in Makati and has always stayed there during our visits twice in my entire life. I was born in the Philippines but grew up in California and have lived here since I was eleven years old! My husband is already retired, and I'm also retiring, so we're planning a trip there and hopefully soon and will check out that area and perhaps invest in a condo there! Btw, I believe my beautiful birth country is not a “Third World” country anymore but a “Developing country,” and perhaps someday soon it'll be up there with the second world and so on❗Thanks - take care, stay safe, and may God bless us all❣️🙏
Hi. I live in Makati. My gf lives in BGC and I spend a lot of time in both. Both cities are different and have their charms. BGC feels like a different world and is only 10 mins away and it feels like I’m on holiday when I stay there. Yea, I know developing is now more PC than third world. But I added a ?, and I was being ironic by showing a hyper advanced modern, clean, safe city, to break down stereotypes of how some people in first world countries may view the Philippines
Pls do a walk tour of the ff too: Capitol Commons, Venice McKinley Hill, Festival Mall Alabang, Vermosa Cavite, Intramuros cafes and restaurants, Eastwood and Circulo Verde, Vertis North, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Clark New City, Baguio
Thanks for the recommendations. I have taken note and will add to the list. In one of my early videos my gf and I showed around Intramuros and fort Santiago. And also a hidden palace/mani soon in Pasay.
@@NicandPaddyVlog many have blogged Intramuros already but no one has yet to do a tour of the cafes behind the gates and the hole-in-the-wall restaurants, there are even pocket gardens inside the buildings that are used for wedding receptions. That's something TH-cam people have not seen yet about Intramuros. I just hope those establishments are back or have re-opened as they surely were hit the hardest during the 2 years community quarantines.
I would also include the area in and around the University of the Philippines Diliman where QC circle is, Maginhawa street, UP Town center. Katipunan and campuses of Ateneo de Manila
Thanks. I’ll check out your videos. I made an High st video last night. Will upload later. It looks very different at night. Lots of cafes, restaurants and bars are busy again and there’s a million dogs out and about 🙂
@@NicandPaddyVlog I'll be looking forward to watching your video. I also made a night time tour a couple of months ago, showing lots of places between Serendra and Forbes Town

Yea. BGC is pretty shiny and new. They did a great job designing and building it. I like to eat and drink outside. Mediterranean al fresco style, and BGC has plenty of options for that.
Thank you for loving and appreciate the beauty of Filipinos Country. I am a Filipino living in Manila. Next destination explore an island 🏝 el nido palawan or coron palawan❣️
Cheers. Had the break up recently and partying a bit. Too difficult to edit videos with a hangover. And sometimes I film stuff but if there’s no real structure to it, (normally when I’m a bit tipsy) I won’t use it. Will knock out a few videos this week though.
Try visiting ILOILO CITY, too. ILOILO CITY IS both modern like Singapore and heritage like Spanish and French-European Food is superb here. Plenty of parks, Spanish plazas, open squares, and the riverside Esplanades are marvelous. Biking lanes are amazing. You may see a glimpse of ILOILO CITY in the forthcoming NETFLIX TV new mini-series A LOVE TO KILL The setting is in ILOILO CITY. Filming is now on-going March and April, 2022. Worldwide streaming to be announced soon.
It was called Fort Bonifacio for decades (Andres Bonifacio is a important Hero of the Phil. as well as Padre Burgos road name), there is a Veterans Cemetery nearby, the area is pretty much empty for a long time just another district of Taguig for those who didn't know 😎👍✌.
Hi Paddy, what was the name of that Condo block you pointed out with "koy ponds" etc.. The one on the corner.. Im coming there soon and that looks an ideal location.. thanks mate, I enjoy your vlogs. cheers
One Serendra. I’m so impressed with the place, I’ll make a video of it. My girlfriend lives there and she owns her own real estate company if you want her contact details ?
Is that really a city? Or is it really in the middle of the city??? Why there are so many plants or trees around??? So clean and we'll organize.. Very westernize
Thanks. I tend to spend about half my time between Makati and BGC. Two very different places and only 10 mins from each other. There’s a lot to love about both cities.
the modern term used by world bank based on countries income and level of progress , is income level. ph is nearing to be called as an UPPER MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRY...hence its affluent enough as compared to most developing countries..
Hi paddy been to the Philippines many times. 2004,2005, 2006, 2013, etc. Even thought about a 3 months vacation there. Tell us do you know if the online health pass will be scrapped later in the year? I know it's straightforward but it's a unnecessary piece of paper work.
I really enjoyed the video. I'm a Filipino and have never been to BGC. Hopefully, in the future, I can also walk and vlog not just in BGC, but in other cities around the world as well. New subscriber here.
It's my first time to watch your vlog and I just subscribed. Thanks for showing the world the beauty of the country. This is just one part of it, there are other parts of the country which are inhabited by majority of the population who are not able to experience the affluence this part of the country provides.
Thanks. I do plan to show many areas of Manila. The fun local parts with sari sari stores etc. but I just wanted to start by breaking down a few stereotypes that there are parts of the Philippines that are more impressive than cities like Singapore.
Manila & parts of it is much more safe compared to the U.S. We have drive by shooting which happens on our freeways. Every year there are mass shooting happenings in other States. Manila & parts of it is more tame than we have here in the States.
Yea, even in the less clean, little bit crazier areas of Poblacion, I feel pretty safe in. There are more dangerous parts of Manila, but there’s no real reason for me to go there.
So useful to get the first impression! Before my trip, I am trying to find out what the situation is like with crime/safety and diseases like malaria and dengue in the Philippines. Do you protect yourself against mosquitos anywhere in the Philippines?
Malaria doesn’t seem to be a thing here. I got Dengue here, it’s not common, but can happen. Not going to kill you. Mosquitoes 🦟 aren’t much of an issue here.
It is both an issue and not, depends on where and also on the season. I’ve been bitten a thousand times but never had dengue nor malaria BUT that doesn’t mean it will apply to all esp if u r not used to mosquito bites. There are parts of the city where it won’t be common but in some parts it is esp if they have no running water and tend to store them in containers. Just always get something called Off lotion. You can get ‘‘em in supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies and even in sari-sari stores esp in touristy areas.
I’m Filipino living in Metro Manila, specifically BGC. I always go malling and strolling around all malls & parks in Metro Manila w/ my hubby and we never had malaria nor dengue nor any mosquito-related problems, and we’re now on our late fortys and have never used Off Lotion or any mosquito repellant 😊
You mention BGC being a safe city but is Makati safe too? I read that there can various untoward incidents there. Have you come across anything since your stay there?
There’s higher risk of petty street stuff such as pick pockets in the party areas of Makati. But a bit of common sense will help avoid. Tourists arriving and being a little disoriented and jet lagged will be the targets. I will make a video on what to look out for. Professional beggars etc.
This is in Manila. Great nightlife in BGC and if you want the crazy Poblacion/ Burgos nightlife, it’s just a short taxi(Grab) ride away. Many start in BGC and finish in Poblacion. Will be a long time before Clark city is built
BGC (Bonifacio Global City) is part of Taguig City, 1 of the 17 Cities(Thats include Manila the capital, Makati City, Pasay (where SM Mall of Asia is located), Pasig, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Paranaque, and others in Metro Manila better known as National Capital Region (NCR), New Clark City is in Capas, Tarlac province in Central Luzon near North Luzon (takes 2-3 hrs drive to Metro Manila)including Subic Bay in Zambales
Hey Paddy! Thanks for this video and for appreciating our country. We Filipinos are hospitable and welcoming to all kinds of people. May I just give you a bit of a feedback, the term "third world country" is an outdated term that is now considered offensive by some societies not only in the Philippines. The socio-politically correct term is, "developing country."
Thanks Janet. I was being ironic with - Third World? I know it’s not so PC to use it now. Many people who have never been to the Philippines probably have their own stereotypical image of it and would still use that term. Hence why I showed a very modern, advanced, clean and safe city.
Thanks for the clarification. Sorry for not catching the "?" at the end of your statement. Keep making this kind of videos, will look out for more on your channel. God bless!😊
Yes I get your title. Not many people know that the Philippines is classified under newly industrialized and middle income. No longer a low income country

Rough figures. Very much goes by quality of building and sq m2. For luxury high end condos. A 25m studio is around 500usd. A 100m 2 bed is about 2000usd a month. But given that there is much more supply than demand at the moment(because of lockdowns), there are cheaper deals to be found. I will make a video about my place. It’s a one bedroom 45m luxury condo. And, a friend of mine is a real estate agent. Will make some videos with her doing small, medium, and large condos.
BGC is Filipinos proud of modernism infrastructures and traffic discipline as well. If you step in this place while driving you must be careful of your speed as I experienced I thought no police man watching, but unfortunately a meter behind there is cameras everywhere for traffic light 😁😂 Since then I learned that Philippines government concentrate a modernized cities within our country🇵🇭 though, not yet finished as some cities continued buildings on going.
*BGC should not be our only pride soon, it should be the whole Philippines. They can do it in BGC? They can make it happen in the entirety of the Philippine Islands. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.*
Hi. Cheers. Yep, I filmed a night tour yesterday evening and at night. The American cemetery is very impressive. It’s about the same size as BGC. I wanted to check if I’m allowed to film there or if it would be seen as disrespectful to do so. Will check it out and if all good, will make a video.

I’m a foreigner and i love BGC. Lived just a couple blocks away from Uptown Mall. Really beautiful place.
I want to film uptown mall when it has the fire display over the fountain. Really spectacular
BGC is very good place to live in
Yep. It really is very luxurious, good fun, and very easy to meet people and make friends.
Nothing like the Taguig In the early 90's Indeed! Great tour around this BGC! I need to visit my Home soon!
Yea. A friend of mine grew up in a house in BGC area in the 80s and 90s. She’s said it was just green fields.
@@NicandPaddyVlog And synonymous to "rehab" for addicted people!
I didn’t know that bit.
@@NicandPaddyVlog Oh! And by the way too you look kinda like Anthony Bourdain was popular there!
Thank you for visiting my country sir
Thanks Rachael. I have been living here for over 3 years and loving it.
Nice video .salamat..
Glad you enjoyed. More to come 😊
Pls do a walk tour of the ff too: Capitol Commons, Venice McKinley Hill, Festival Mall Alabang, Vermosa Cavite, Intramuros cafes and restaurants, Eastwood and Circulo Verde, Vertis North, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Clark New City, Baguio
Capitol Commons is kinda small for me, I've worked there in Estancia. Filinvest City is interesting though
I would also include the area in and around the University of the Philippines Diliman where QC circle is, Maginhawa street, UP Town center. Katipunan and campuses of Ateneo de Manila
Very nice tour, love your voiceover! Welcome to my neighborhood!
Cheers. It’s a great neighbourhood
@@NicandPaddyVlog I hope you will do more walking tours like this, it comes out way more natural than mine because of your voiceover.
Pls Visit, City Of Good Life Oroquieta City, Province of Misamis Occidental, Its More Fun in Philippines
Try to visit Venice Grand Canal Mall in Mckinley Hills Taguig nearby area, explore the European style building, Stay Safe!
Yea, I love that place. It’s on the list of places to film. I would say it’s the most spectacular and surreal mall I’ve ever been in. Will see if a local friend is available to make it with me. I want to start adding guest appearances of Filipino friends and adding their IG
Pls Visit, City Of Good Life Oroquieta City, Province of Misamis Occidental, Its More Fun in Philippines
Stay safe. BGC is a city within a city with modern, clean and highly urbanized place in the PH. 💙👍🙂
Yea. It is a bit of a bubble. But I do love the bubble.
New subs here, I really enjoy your content. Keep it up mate.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed. Will keep on making videos of the amazing Philippines 🇵🇭
Hello I’m new here 😊, I just watched your video this morning . I never been to BGC 🤔actually there’s no BGC before . Watching you from 🇦🇺🇵🇭
Pls Visit, City Of Good Life Oroquieta City, Province of Misamis Occidental, Its More Fun in Philippines
Yea. BGC is pretty shiny and new. They did a great job designing and building it. I like to eat and drink outside. Mediterranean al fresco style, and BGC has plenty of options for that.
Hello ,Keep safe ,always.
Thanks. Life is close to normal again.
Very Nice Area, Good tour.
Cheers. It’s a pretty cool part of Manila. A lot happens there. That was just a chilled weekday afternoon
Thank you for loving and appreciate the beauty of Filipinos Country. I am a Filipino living in Manila. Next destination explore an island 🏝 el nido palawan or coron palawan❣️
Thanks. The first videos I made for this channel was a trip to Bohol. I’ve been to Boracay and Palawan and others are high on my list😊
Welcome back mate..been awhile
Cheers. Had the break up recently and partying a bit. Too difficult to edit videos with a hangover. And sometimes I film stuff but if there’s no real structure to it, (normally when I’m a bit tipsy) I won’t use it. Will knock out a few videos this week though.

Welcome to the philippines bro n enjoy
Thanks. Have been here for 3 years and have been very much welcomed by everyone. Thanks 😊
What up Paddy. thinking of going there on Saturday to finally visit Burgos Cir. Jess Loya
You’ll probably see me wandering high st or sitting in coffee bean. Say hello 😊
Welcome in BGC Sir. I'm living near by the place here in Taguig.
Thanks. It’s a great place
Indeed. That is my usual hangout place when I don't have any travel out of the city.
I'll be exploring that exact place come May 14th
Cool. I’ll have a few more vids up by then of great places to explore.
Welcome
Cheers. I’ve been here over three years now and have felt very welcomed.
Thanks. I just goggle imaged it. Looks amazing
Paddy, thanks for taking time to Google ILOILO.
Thank you brother
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed
Thanks. I always appreciate informative comments. I’ve been here 3 years but there’s a hell of a lot I don’t know. Cheers 😊
I miss the Philippines.
Yep, it’s a cool place. I’ve travelled to a lot of countries and Philippines is my favourite.
Metro Manila is made up of 17 cities / districts all merge together. They all have their differences and charms
I love it. ❤❤❤
Thanks. Looks even better at night.
Visit bohol many tourists stay living there
Yea, Bohols a great place. The first 5 videos I made for this channel are of Bohol
Bgc is beautiful
Yep. I will make a video of Venice mall soon. It’s an unbelievable place.
Welcome🙏
Thank you. I’ve lived here for over 3 years. Philippines is a very welcoming country. 😊
Hi Paddy welcome to BGC Philippine..new subscriber…
Thanks. I tend to spend about half my time between Makati and BGC. Two very different places and only 10 mins from each other. There’s a lot to love about both cities.
I always support your channel and I hope you always there ..❤️
the modern term used by world bank based on countries income and level of progress , is income level.
ph is nearing to be called as an UPPER MIDDLE INCOME COUNTRY...hence its affluent enough as compared to most developing countries..
Hi Enrico. I added a ? In the thumbnail and showed a highly modern and advanced city right in the middle of Manila. I was being ironic 😊
Thank to vlog happy to see NCR..even you say 3rd country , we changed hopefully the next decade
Thanks. I’m being ironic. Breaking down stereotypes. Then showing one of the most advanced cities in the world.
Hi paddy been to the Philippines many times. 2004,2005, 2006, 2013, etc. Even thought about a 3 months vacation there. Tell us do you know if the online health pass will be scrapped later in the year? I know it's straightforward but it's a unnecessary piece of paper work.
No one knows. For the last two years, most announcements were made a day or two before the change.
BGC used to be part of Fort Bonifacio an army headquarter.
Thanks.
I really enjoyed the video. I'm a Filipino and have never been to BGC. Hopefully, in the future, I can also walk and vlog not just in BGC, but in other cities around the world as well. New subscriber here.
Cool, thanks, glad you enjoyed
try to visit ANGONO, Rizal province near Manila for ARTS and Cultural experience
True, I'm scared to walk or drive on the freeway, anywhere else, too many crimes, shootings, robbery, kidnapping here in L.A. It's not safe anymore.
This is a lovely vlog, new subscriber here.
Thanks. Glad you enjoy 😊
I love BGC. Philippines is the place to be.
Burgos Circle is my weekend hangout for coffee and food. May I ask what camera are you using here? is there an external microphone connected to it?
Hi. For this I used a dji osmo 4 gimble for smoothness and an iPhone. I did a lot of research into cameras and got/ also have a Sony ZV 1
Alveo land is the owner is the owner also of ayala malls here entire country.
Yea. I live beside A venue. It’s being completely redeveloped by Ayala at the moment.
Is this near the clark city that I heard they're currently building and is said to be better than manila?
Clark city was maybe about 80 kilometers to the north
MABUHAY! You’re already staying in Makati City, then Go to GREENBELT AYALA Malls & ROCKWELL! I’m a Makati Boy for 44 Years! Explore & Enjoy Ayala Malls!
I had lunch in Rockwell yesterday. Will make a video of Rockwell. I was looking up the history of the place and discovered why it’s called power plant mall. Green belt is amazing and I’ll make a video of it as well.
wow! nice
Thanks 😊
Hello there . I'm new here . Enjoy your day 😘
Hi. Glad you enjoyed 😊 enjoy your day
@@NicandPaddyVlog I did ! Thanks 👍

👉Don't missed to witness during sunset in " RIZAL PARK " in Manila near Manila Bay which is also called the Philippines National Park, you can see there the Amazing Sunset ang Extra ordery Lighings in the Rizal Park that you might never seen in your entire travel in the world.
👉 Also, the nearby FORT SANTIAGO (historical place) in Intramuros-Manila City which is also called THE WALLED CITY within Manila City.
I agree. I made a video on Intramuros and Fort Santiago about 6 months ago.
Hello 👋 I'm from Philippines
Hi Juanito. I’ve lived here for 3 years. Really amazing country.
Hey Paddy, what is rent like in the heart of BGS for 2 bedrooms? Thanks
@@NicandPaddyVlog Thanks. Will look forward to that/those videos.
Yea. I believe there are plans to make more new smart cities in the Philippines
*BGC should not be our only pride soon, it should be the whole Philippines. They can do it in BGC? They can make it happen in the entirety of the Philippine Islands. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas.*
Congratulations for 1k subscriber looking for 10k subs
Just enjoying it. Everyone loved that video. We appreciate the same things
Paddy show your viewers High Street on weekends - Saturday/Sunday afternoons to the evenings
And Thank You for showing BGC
Hi. Cheers. Yep, I filmed a night tour yesterday evening and at night. Have shots from about 5-7pm with millions of dogs out and the parks filled and a bulk of the night tour is filmed at 9pm on a Sunday. All cables underneath ✌️😁
Very tidy.
Hello po sir, pls try to visit the American cemetery , salute to soldiers who never came home. Just nearby bgc sir. Tnk u po
The American cemetery is very impressive. It’s about the same size as BGC. I wanted to check if I’m allowed to film there or if it would be seen as disrespectful to do so. Will check it out and if all good, will make a video.
