I was seriously blown away by this, it gave me hope that clear heads could prevail. This was a better monologue than I've seen on the state of things, and without relying on conjecture. The real question is: will the 30% of Americans who are brainwashed wake up?

In my opinion the best in making a conversation with his guests, setting them in the centre of attention by the right questions or remarks, or by just listening. He had some legendary conversations with some legendary guests.

The irony of the man predicting Osama Bin Laden being up to something dying two weeks later in the World Trade Center tragedy on 911 takes my breath away. I am seeing this clip/episode for the first time tonight and declare it to be my favorite. The ideas, the standards, the morals reflected pull me up to be my best, as a member of a bigger picture. Thank you, Mr. Colbert and Mr. Daniels.

I miss the real [news] drama of the show --- and the "back stage" scenes of how a newsroom might just work together.
But, in my opinion, what brought the show down after only 3 seasons was the over-abundance of *personal romances* and too much [positive] religion and smoking in it.

Someone wave a magic wand and bring back the ultimate show: a world where Sports Night and Newsroom are two shows for the same network in the same building.

I love just how much of him was clearly put into Will McAvoy. Sure, scripts and all of that, but he has the profile of that character already in his personality, and I guess that's what made the role such a great fit

I don't often say this but Jeff is a person full of wisdom, it shows by the way he presents his thought with his words. Bravo!
Refreshing to hear that I'm not the only one who has had trouble sleeping from keeping up with the news.
I had to stop looking at Facebook, I skip news for a week, I only watch news on the evening comedy shows ... it was overwhelming. I wanted to sit in the corner of the closet with my grandma's handmade quilt over my head. The two worst surprises were how fast things can change and second, how silent a whole party can stay protecting party and money over country and citizens. I had no idea our country and government were so fragile.

This man has the ability to draw you in... immensely and make you listen to every word when he starts to get passionate.
That was an incredible interview with Mr. Daniels. After watching that cringe worthy interview with Omarosa last night it was so nice to hear an intelligent, thoughtful, insightful guest like Jeff Daniels. I hope that he is right in that the good, honest, patriotic Americans doing their jobs in the FBI will eventually catch trump and his minions up in their lies and felonious behavior and we can hopefully start to rebuild our country and maybe begin to be respected and not laughed at globally.

Jeff is probably one of the most intelligent and powerful speakers I have seen in Colbert's show.
I watched this interview a few months before I watched the show. Then I watch the show. Then I watched this interview again and when he said, "Best review I've ever got." I teared up.
he really has a gravitas to him when he speaks on serious topics that makes you sit up and listen. loved it on the newsroom, nice to see he's the same way in real life.
