  • The 19-year-old Sri Lankan national charged in what police have called one of the worst mass killings in Ottawa’s recent history has family in the city who say his behaviour recently changed.
Ottawa police allege Febrio De-Zoysa murdered a mother, her four children including a two-and-a-half-month-old along with a family acquaintance.
De-Zoysa is facing six counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The father, identified in court documents as Dhanushka Wickramasinghe, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
“I’m still shaking, that family was so nice to him,” his aunt Anusha De-Zoysa told Global News Friday. “They were such a wonderful family.”
    Mackenzie Gray has more.

The family was very religious and closely connected to the Buddhist temple in Ottawa, which explains the sentiment. At least the father isn't a hypocrite. He practices his faith. Come on, I feel terrible about this but something does not add up. The father and the killer were living together before his family came to Canada and the killer was probably 17 going 18 or may be just 18. The point is, what is a grown man living with a young kid while he has his aunty here in Canada . Then asked the killer to move with them to the house? now the father is asking for compassion for the killer. I am sorry but something doesn't make any sense. I know about forgiveness and there is a place for that but this just took place. I hope that there is no more to this story because something is missing here.

Dude was slashed multiple times and had fingers cut off. Also compassion is one of the qualities that draws people to Buddhism. The wish to free others from suffering, is how the texts define it. Compassion is a heartfelt outflowing of loving kindness, a phrase constantly used by the Dalai Lama to describe the essence of Buddhist teachings.
Not everyone is vengeful no matter the circumstances. I have seen family members of other murder victims say things like "It was gods plan to bring them home" and things like that, you go ahead and point the blame at a victim with zero evidence though.

Connect the dots, another 'student', was he being charged rent by the adults that 'helped' him, the same one he blocked and went to live elsewhere, and permanently 'blocked' them. They had 2 students renting that were not on the lease. He attended one semester and stopped. There is a lot of very large dots to connect but no one wants to connect them.

Recently, I was physically attacked by friend of mine whom I have known for over 15yrs. This friend had no history of violence or aggressive behavior. Since he came to Canada, his behavior has changed. He has become aggressive, argumentative and out of control. As a Social Scientist I study the problem and found that there are five causes of issues like this in Canada:
    1. Too much drugs on the streets.
    2. Too much drugs in Canada.
    3. Too much drugs available to everyone including minors.
    5. Too much drugs causing hallucination, suicide and violence..
