My theory is that CG was just a Phantom Ganon. The biggest one, ofc, but he and the blights were likely Phantom Ganons created out of malice, which is probably a weakened miasma (or gloom, as the English translation so "eloquently" put it).
I think it appeared when Rauru's seal weakened (kinda how like the blood moon in BotW was when Zelda's own power waned and some of CG leaked through), and the hero and princess with the sealing power sealing it back weakened it enough for Rauru to contain it for 10k more years (and probably the sealing power reinforces Rauru's seal too).

    • @gabrielabatista6016
      @gabrielabatista6016 ปีที่แล้ว +89

Yeah, seems like some things still remain, but in a more abstract and less concrete way.
Zelda was still carrying the master sword, strengthening it for Link. We even see her message for Link in that golden place (which I think is her spirit inside her new dragon form) plus her tears revealing her memories, and Dragon Ganandorf clearly was still very much evil and destructive.
I think you don't exactly loose yourself, per se. It seems more like your consciousness goes into a slumber. So your mind is still there, but asleep, so you're not conscious at all; dragons are working only on instinct and subconscious, but their mind isn't truly lost.

I’m pretty sure the way it works is the dragons desire is to fulfill the original persons final desire: Zelda’s final wish was to protect Link, The Spring Dragons wished to protect their respective springs, and Ganondorf wished to destroy Hyrule, so they each did ( or tried to do ) that.

I think he does understand to an extent.
I too thought he was mindless, but considering that Zelda here "sorta" feels like she's supposed to help Link, maybe the dark dragon has an instinct for destruction and a strong resentment that pushes him to kill Link.
I believe that they have a sort of internalized instinct that links them to their past self
Zelda: instinct to protect and fight alongside Link
Ganon: instinct to kill off them both

I love how Ganon’s dragon form explodes with such an immense amount of FORCE. It really represents that his status as a dragon made him immortal, and yet Link’s still able to kill him because the Master Sword’s power completely overrides that and is presumably the only thing able to kill him at that point. Such a powerful being lore-wise certainly deserved an equally powerful death.

I see dragons more as beasts with the faintest glimmer of who they once were. To me, it was the Light Dragon's instinct to aid Link in this fight but it had no interest in the Demon Dragon, seeing as it dodges the dragon biting at it a few times without a care. It doesn't even seem like it's aware of why it is helping Link, just that it knows it needs to.
The Demon Dragon on the other hand is the opposite. It seems Ganondorf's hatred carried over the most when the Demon Dragon was born. The only thing this beast knows is that it must destroy, and that starts with Link.

Maybe Link just loves stabbing Ganon in the forehead.
Ocarina of time, Link defeats Ganon by stabbing him in the forehead
Wind Waker, Link kills Ganondorf by stabbing him in the forehead
Breath of the Wild, Calamity Ganon's weakness is the forehead
Tears of the Kindom, Link kills the Demon Dragon by stabbing him in the forehead
I guess you could say Link likes to give Ganon a splitting headache?

After the very tough battle with Ganondorf I had prior to this... this felt like a victory lap. A glorious spectacle of a Victory lap.
I did not know you could bounce those homing gloom balls back at Ganondorf...
I kept missing my timings and either dodging too soon or my shield taking the hit instead...
At some point I was wondering if I was going to lose after each flurry rush counter and a missed second flurry rush...
The duel with Ganondorf even with all my gear... felt evenly matched and that to me was awesome. Also I did not go for bow cheese... this was a match between swords so I kept it as such.
Enter this phase... HE PULLED A VEGETA AND even though I probably was... going to lose... he decided to go Dragon on me.
Enter Zelda getting Draganon to let go of Link and swooping to catch him. Then the dance of dragons with Link square in the middle acting as Zelda's sword.
Do you even need to know why this game is called "Legend of Zelda anymore after all this and especially after this battle?!
Zelda has done more work in Breath of the Wild and even MORE WORK in Tears of the Kingdom then any other title and it's not even close! The story simply could not happen without her efforts, and her efforts move mountains to help Link not only survive, but have the tools he needs to succeed!
Back to this part of the battle... this was the TRUE... "Dance of Dragons"! I will not apologies.

8:51 I swear that final descent, with so much red from the blood moon and whatnot. To have the courage to leap down once more, your only sense of direction being towards that glimmer of light emanating from the secret stone. You’re almost done, you can feel it. So you leap down, you might even dive and trust in yourself to dodge the flames that seem to blur your vision. The music is intensifying, you can hear all the different motives overlaying. Finally you land by the secret stone, few more hits left. You wail away, the music is still rushing into your veins like adrenaline. Only for it to all dissipate into an ethereal piano solo, coupled with a slight slow motion (which btw serves to emulate a half time feel, drawing greater attention to a sense of finality). Ugh it’s so so good

The danger of Hyrule began when we went underground; however, our journey began up in the sky and will end in the sky. The unnerving chills from me personally from when the hero got this far is the likeliness of his similarity to that of other varieties for the hero of Hyrule.

@@riallebalfour4767 Well, when Ganon pig form ha been revived, the ritual isn't completed because of us stopping the ritual mid way, thus creating a shell that once was Ganon. If you remember during a link between worlds he was a shell that yuga took over, if I remember in Seasons and Ages, he was just a feral beast. Ganondorf however was a different story, after OoT he was either sealed away, or stabbed depending on the timeline. The ganondorf we see in WW is the same from OoT but older.

    • @MuffinsAPlenty
      @MuffinsAPlenty ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@riallebalfour4767 I'm going to base this off the timeline in Hyrule Historia, but that might not be accurate anymore with BotW/TotK (it's hard to say how they "fit in" with the timeline or if they're in a different universe altogether).
Ganondorf originates in Ocarina of Time.
      Downfall Timeline:
Ganondorf beats the Hero of Time, and the Imprisoning War ensues. Ganondorf steals the Triforce, becomes Ganon, and is sealed away in the Dark World.
In ALttP, Ganon is freed and Link kills him.
In the Oracle Games, Twinrova revives Ganon, but their ritual was interrupted, so he's a mindless shell. Link kills him.
Prior to The Legend of Zelda, Ganon is revived. Link kills him.
In Adventure of Link, there is an attempt to revive Ganon, but Link successfully thwarts this attempt.
Adult Timeline (there is a reason I'm doing this next):
Link successfully defeats Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time. Ganondorf is sealed in the Sacred Realm by the sages. Link is sent back in time, causing the spirit of the hero to vanish from this timeline.
In The Wind Waker, the seal on Ganondorf is broken, and Hyrule is flooded. A new Link kills Ganondorf.
In the rest of the games in this split of the timeline, Ganondorf and Ganon never appear again (Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks).
      Child Timeline:
After defeating Ganon at the end of Ocarina of Time, Link is sent back into the past. Link warns Zelda about what will happen with Ganondorf, and Zelda and the King believe this time. Ganondorf is scheduled to be executed in the Arbiter's Grounds by the sages, but by a "divine prank", he is granted the Triforce of Power and survives. The surviving sages seal him in the Twilight World.
In Twilight Princess, Ganon tricks Zant and is able to escape the Twilight. Link (and Zant?) kill Ganondorf.
In Four Swords Adventures, Ganondorf is *_reincarnated,_* seeks out the Trident of Power, and becomes Ganon. Link defeats Ganon who is sealed in the Four Sword.
So, based on this, every instance of Ganondorf and Ganon stems from the same person (OoT Ganondorf) *_except_* the Ganondorf/Ganon in Four Swords Adventures. You could make the case that the various revivals of Ganon in the downfall branch of the timeline could be considered "new" Ganons, but they are described as resurrections of Ganon, so I think it's safe to assume they are intended to be the same as Ganondorf in OoT. And now we have Tears of the Kingdom, and it's not clear whether this is a new Ganondorf, a retcon of the Ganondorf from OoT (TotK seems to be a loose retelling of OoT, in some aspects), or just some parallel universe unrelated to all other Zelda games.
But, regardless of TotK, the fact that Ganondorf was reincarnated in Four Swords Adventures give Nintendo license to bring him back again if they want. And since Aonuma has stated in interviews that he doesn't like being bogged down by the timeline, and seeing as how BotW/TotK don't really make sense in context of the timeline, I don't think there's anything to stop Aonuma from using Ganondorf and Ganon again if he wanted to.

For cinematic effect, I did this part of the fight with one of the green tunics (twilight one specifically since I had it). Was very epic especially considering TP was my first one

I like how the first two ganon fights were in the far deepest depths and the last one is far up the sky

The game went so deep into the depths to reach Ganondorf. It was like venturing into the pits of hell to face satan.

One tiny thing I noticed that I don't see anyone else pointing out is the fact that you can see Link in between the teeth before the closeup, which gives you a whole other perspective on exactly how fucking BIG he is!
