That now cut off line behind the palisade fence was last used for trains supplying oil to padiham power plant which is now no longer there and there's now just a grid substation and a new industrial estate there. And I can remember seeing an oil train at rosegrove getting ready to go down that line to the power plant one saturday morning in 1989. They had to run the loco round to the other end at rosegrove. And does anyone know what happened to the old rolling stock that was stabled at the old padiham power plant in the late 80's? I can remember being down there once and seeing what looked like a steeple cab electric loco in the sidings there which was a bit strange as there was no electrified lines there.
I've only been in east lancs. since 1971, 50 years, so I don't remember the steam shed but I did once see the goods yard at rosegrove, it's all gone now and replaced by industrial units. And the "main" line there carries trains from york to blackpool north and from colne to blackpool south, as well as some more recent services from blackburn to manchester, I think, using the reinstated curve at hall royd junction in todmorden. And I think you should fit the camera on your helmet as that would give a much better view of the route ahead.
Tx for your comments. You made me smile. My camera has capputed. I've lost my best buddy Benji the dog. So no more videos. They have put me in a flat to die out of site
The railway line was a section that ran from rosegrove to padiham .simonstone. great harwood .and into blackburn and then to blackpool and all stops you went through where the station was before the park where the new houses have been built on the left .
Not the most interesting fact in history but Russell Terrace was once Railway Terrace. A vote was taken amongst residents and they voted to disavow history and change the street name. Personally think that a bit sad.

Nice one. I have got to have a mooch down there. I've been on tother in Colne. That full stop could have been a shunting line.
That road under the bridge is Dryden street
In the good old days when you could ride over the bridge
Thanks for the great videos, Cheers from a Pendle Expat.

I wish they'd fix that bridge so we can walk on it again
Looks too have sunk a bit more in the middle now. They could at least open a foot bridge.
