We drink it neat on the rocks with a ghost ship or sometimes as a little nip on its own before bed… lovely. The air fryer is really good and as you say, just the right size. Enjoy Wells! Hi there Dave & Helen, Like the site with privacy hedges, would prefer a hardstanding pitch though. We love a scout around a hardware shop and it’s a good idea purchasing the citronella candles for those pesky flies. BTW you have to have onions and sauce with a burger 🍔😋in my opinion 😁. Best wishes. Rob & Gail 😀
Hi Rob & Gail, yes we’ve got the measure of you on FS hard standing preferably with a 10m EHU cable 👍. Helen & I were commenting after your last video on how you manage to keep everything ‘just so’. Your caravan looks immaculate so hats off to you. Onions & sauce next time but those burgers were really tasty. Take care both, Helen & Dave 👍
We stayed on pitch 32 (which is our favourite and is the one to your left) for 2 weeks in June. We are booked to go back in October, we make it here at least a couple of times a year. When there, you definitely give Orford a visit as it is lovely there. The Kitchen in Thorpeness is very very nice as well. We love the fact you don't need to check in at reception, you can just drive to your pitch and they come round and check on you later in the day. The pitches give good shelter as well when it turns breezy. We are using one of the hardstandings for October as the grass pitches can get a bit wet underfoot. We have been coming here now for going on 12 years.
Hi Warren, many thanks for watching. We’ve had our eye on this site for some time and must say, like you, we like it and will also be back in October for more of the same (hope the weather is kind). We will look at getting to Orford too. ATB, Helen & Dave
Wow you had great weather saying the kids have just gone back hasn't stopped raining since they've got back down our part of the country 🤨. Love Aldeburgh! Lovely vid as always guys! Paul & Lin❤❤

Hi Helen and Dave 🌻been to aldeburgh a few times probably one of our favourite places even though the facilities are closed.love adnams as well .will be arriving there on Monday .stay safe.👍🌻
Hi Nev, well we hope you have a lovely time and the weather remains good. Can’t beat Adnams 🍺 and Aldeburgh is so lovely. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave 👍
What a good site and so close to Aldeburgh, it’s a lovely place to visit especially the Two Magpies Bakery which has the best Eccles Cakes we’ve ever tasted . Thanks for showing us the site we didn’t realise it was there. Best wishes H&M. 😊
We thought of you both while we were there. Ideal for Motorhomers but also great walks and somewhere to go for a run. We know you’ve been this way before but it’s somewhere we could visit time and time again. It’s Suffolks version of Wells we think. Take care, Helen & Dave 👍

Hi David, looking good for 79 (or is that an old picture). It was the chippy at Southwold harbour I think (bumpy road down there). Aldeburgh next spring would be great. Take care, Helen & Dave
Lovely to see Aldeburgh, my grandmother was born there in 1901 and her parents are buried in the churchyard. I havent been back since I was a teenager, the camp site looks great so maybe we will venture there in the future.😊
Hi Liz, that’s interesting to know. The church is wonderful and there is a lovely community feel about it. Such a great place, we should learn some history of it. Great site and good location. ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
We are regular visitors to Aldeburgh and we enjoy the town for what it is such a quaint fishing enclave on the suffolk coast.. Both traci and myself and our now well known pooch charlie are always made welcome here . Looking forward to our next visit in a few days time
Hi Alison & Keith, fell in love with this site and we're already booked in again next month. Thought you would be off again soon lol. Have a great trip. Helen & Dave
Love the videos you guys, I am just like Helen, love spending money. We are currently away in our Caravan near York and I bought another airfryer today….. my 6th one! 🤣🤣 only one at the caravan though! 🤣
Hi Robin, yeah, there’s not normally so many parked cars there but it was a Sunday and there was some festival thing taking place on the beach. Very busy! I had already decided I wouldn’t be reversing though 😂👍
Hi Dave. Aldeburgh looks like a great place to visit. We will put it on our list for a visit. I noticed that on the fully serviced pitch you had the water hose from the tap going directly into the water inlet in the side of the caravan. Did you have to do anything different or change anything in order to do that? I wanted to do that when we went to mill farm but I was unsure if the water pressure would be too much for the system on the caravan. I have got an internal water pump on my caravan. Thanks Dave. 😊
Hi Greg, you need a special trim ultra flow or whale equivalent and they have a reducing valve on them so that the pressure can be adjusted. Here is a link to the one I have www.amazon.co.uk/shop/caravantastic/list/2Z4I00LXFBTPX?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d hope this helps, cheers, Dave
Great area and site dave, it’s one we have never been to We have done quite a lot of Suffolk and Norfolk so maybe try this one in the future Southwold bitter I used to get in my local coop and I’m 100 miles away recently they stopped selling it so I now have to put up with ghost ship 😂😂 great video as always Cheers martin
Hi Dan & Sandra, here is a link to our Amazon store. Both the carpet and the groundsheet we use are on this page. If you decide to buy one you will pay the normal Amazon price but we get a small commission. Hope you're both well. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave, another lovely vlog. Site looks lovely but not sure about the lack of facilities. It seems to be a trend this year where sites have fewer people on them. Not sure if it's because more people are seeking the sun abroad or prices of some of the sites. Cheers Terry
@@terryfielding8836 Morning Terry, hope you’re well. We were discussing this too and scratching our heads. Prices are definitely going up and people may well be having to prioritise their living expenses ahead of the nice to have expenses. Also, some of the pitch fees are getting silly but in this case it may well be the lack of facilities, really not sure. Loved the site and location though. Best wishes, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi helen and dave another good fine we dont like grass pitches and i prefer to have facilities, great location though being a walk away to the village. Wish they had Adnams shops near us, never heard of their white rum. You both look well take care xx
Hi Julie, we like the grass pitches when it’s nice and dry 😂 We prefer facilities but have also gotten used to using them when needed. Aldeburgh is a beautiful place and Thorpeness also well worth a visit. We have been to Church Farm several times . Great site but the only downside in my view is the chemical emptying point. I wish it was raised like the Caravan Motorhome sites. Much less chance of spillage and less painful on the old back! 😂
@@cfp8872 hello again, agreed if those facility were open I think they would be a lot busier but they must have their reasons. Yeah it would be better if the Elsan was raised. You must like it too having been so many times. Great location 👍 ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
We’ve had been there a lot and yes the toilet block closed during covid. Site used to be open at Christmas/New Year and we’ve celebrated a couple there. Sadly I think eventually the site will be closed to tourers and replaced with more statics. Great video as always 👍
Hi Lee, thanks for the confirmation. I can confirm that it is open during Christmas/New Year. I think though that the site may well close at some point and that would be sad. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDave Maybe we will think about visiting this Christmas just in case it’s the last chance, but the Outer Hebrides are calling us back again. Christmas on the islands was special, and lovely beaches all to ourselves. Decisions, decisions. 😄
As a regular visitor to Suffolk, I've looked at this site before but the grass only pitches and absence of onsite showers & toilets stops me from ever staying there. There are much better sites in the area.
Hi Graeme, did you watch the video? It’s not grass only, there are some hard standing pitches with Astro turf too and full service, but the facilities remain closed which is a shame because it’s a very nice site in a great location too. Out of curiosity which sites would you recommend in that area? We are always on the look out. Cheers, Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDaveApologies but I didn't watch the whole video as I was only interested in the reason for lack of facilities on that site but have driven round the site a couple of times as I do a lot of beach fishing in Aldeburgh. The lack of facilities makes it a no-no for me. I use Run Cottage at Hollesley mostly or at a pinch (only during term time) Haw Wood Farm at Darsham. I only use the latter if I can book specific pitches (away from the play area and log burning idiots). Will be exploring some smaller CL sites during 2025.
Hi Ray, it's a Chefree AFW01 we use in the caravan, I'm able to run this as well as the Teppanyaki at the same time and no issues.bit.ly/4dK0UtP here is a link to a video where we review it. th-cam.com/video/oEukSg_CcBw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jhpMHJ8z6ZOBvkro Cheers, Helen & Dave
Thank you for reply loving your sites review spent watching 4 just got caravan again now prices have dropped in market ps Mrs wanted to know about air fryer😏 thx for reply
Hi, great video very enjoyable, although I think that site is missing a trick not opening those facilities. Aldeburgh is one of our favourite places to visit, will be up that way next week staying at Hawwood Farm.
Hi Michelle, thanks for watching, glad you liked the video. Just a small flesh wound following a procedure 😂Pleased to say my scar has almost completely disappeared now. Take care, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave and Helen, funny how it tends to be the man that does the cooking while away in the caravan, because it's also my domain, we only use gas once in our old van, which once in six years can't be bad. Do you use the hoop pegs with the Flexi waste hose ??, great looking site. All the best and safe travels, Neil
Hi Neil, yes it’s deffo become a blue job 😂😂 Yes, I have the Colapz hooks, they’re a bit pricey but are strong and do the job. Hope you’re all well and thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDave cheers for the heads up on the hooks, I have some straps that hand from the bottom of the O/S draft rail, but was thinking about the hooks for the extra length times, and I've put my Xmas order in with wife and sons for a Cadac this year
Hello Helen and Dave, site looks like it has a great location. Seems a nice steady and flat walk with Linda's wheelchair along the front into the town, what are your thoughts on that please?
Hi Roger, absolutely perfect site for you & Linda. The hard standing pitches have an Astra turf area next to the concrete pad and the walk into Aldeburgh I would say is very manageable. I would recommend logging into google maps and clicking street view and you should get absolute certainty that way. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave 👍
Hello both, I have checked in Google, looks simple. We went to Yarmouth a week or two ago and following your advice stayed in the race course site. It was ideal, good solid grass pitches, got a pitch by the tent field so close to the entrance. Lovely walk along the prom to the town, the problem was too many cafes along the route ! Great recommation, thank you
Good evening to you both from lovely Norfolk 😍. That looks like a great site, feels like they are missing out on so many bookings due to no facilities 😢. Aldeburgh looks like a perfect quint town, did Helen get the dry robe 😮. Tepanyaki it's the way forward so easy to use and clean. Can we pls ask would you recommend the tearooms at the end of the road for breakfast from incleboro site ?. We have found out there is an Adnams store in Holt, guess we will have to visit 😅. Take care and enjoy as always, looking forward to the next vlog. Paul and Joanne 👍 ♥️ 🍻
Hi Both, can't remember how long you said you were in Norfolk. We move to Walcott near Happisburgh next week and then we're off to Lincolnshire. Helen got the robe!!! The tearooms (corner house) is very good indeed. We use it a lot when we are that way. Enjoy the rest of your stay. Helen & Dave
Just to show how ridiculous camp site prices are now, we opted for a Park dean 6 sleeping static near Dornoch for less than £100 more for a week in Scotland than it would have been to tow and stay in our caravan. If you then add in, the extra diesel to tow the caravan, the propane etc. it would have been much less than £100. We are now going to look at rented Static offers, before we go to any area now. It is hardly any more expensive, much more spacious, with less hassle and stress and you don't have to set it up and clean the thing when you arrive either. We are being ripped off big time on camp sites. This is in the last week of the English kids school holidays, the Scots had already gone back but more or less peak season. Out of season, they are cheaper still.
Hello Fred, you make a very valid point. A friend of ours daughter and grandchildren were visiting Great Yarmouth and staying at Parkdean. They decided they would take their tourer there and stay too. It worked out quite a bit cheaper for them to hire a static, with much more space, 2 bedrooms, widescreen TV and two bathrooms. No brainer!
Hi Cameron, we’ve seen it in a lot of places but not certain if it’s available nationwide. If you want to try it though you can order online here is the link adnams.co.uk/

We will soon be making our 6th return visit this year to a CL on the North York Moors that has no toilets or showers. £18 per night including ehu . I'm not spending almost 30k on a van to not use the shower & toilet. When we do visit sites with facilities, we never use them and would rather use our own.@@HelenandDave

@@leeb3644 Outer Hebrides sounds nice as long as the snow stays away 👍
Hi what airfryer you got low wattage one please lovely video we usual stop at kessllingland
@@raygeary1698 you're welcome
Hi, great video very enjoyable, although I think that site is missing a trick not opening those facilities. Aldeburgh is one of our favourite places to visit, will be up that way next week staying at Hawwood Farm.
@@C9OLB agreed, get them facilities open, pretty sure it would pay dividends 👍
I agree! The toilet in the van is definitely not a poo loo 🤣
@@louiseblake7273 You're right Louise lol.
Great video, hope you are ok Helen looks like you have had a nasty knock on the head .
Hi Michelle, thanks for watching, glad you liked the video. Just a small flesh wound following a procedure 😂Pleased to say my scar has almost completely disappeared now. Take care, Helen & Dave 👍
Twist ya straps so the don't make a noise when the wind blows
yes, works a treat
Hi Dave and Helen, funny how it tends to be the man that does the cooking while away in the caravan, because it's also my domain, we only use gas once in our old van, which once in six years can't be bad. Do you use the hoop pegs with the Flexi waste hose ??, great looking site.
All the best and safe travels, Neil
Hi Neil, yes it’s deffo become a blue job 😂😂 Yes, I have the Colapz hooks, they’re a bit pricey but are strong and do the job. Hope you’re all well and thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDave cheers for the heads up on the hooks, I have some straps that hand from the bottom of the O/S draft rail, but was thinking about the hooks for the extra length times, and I've put my Xmas order in with wife and sons for a Cadac this year
@@mentalneil nice one, getting the Xmas requests in is a good idea, reckon I’ll give Helen a list too 😂👍
Hello Helen and Dave, site looks like it has a great location.
Great recommation, thank you
@@rogerlathbury9860 😂😂 you’ll be stuffed in Aldeburgh then 👍👍
Good evening to you both from lovely Norfolk 😍.
Hi Both,
can't remember how long you said you were in Norfolk. We move to Walcott near Happisburgh next week and then we're off to Lincolnshire. Helen got the robe!!! The tearooms (corner house) is very good indeed. We use it a lot when we are that way. Enjoy the rest of your stay. Helen & Dave
Hi,
We unfortunately leave on Sunday to head back north, we will visit again though 😊.
Looks like breakfast out tomorrow then 😋.
P and J 💓
@@Meggy6571 hope you enjoy it and enjoy the rest of your time. Safe travels.

No brainer!
If people were more aware of this option and chose it regularly, maybe the competition would bring tourer pitches back to a realistic price.
May I ask what make is your sun canopy?
Hi Stuart, it’s a Dometic sunshine air pro 400 👍
@@HelenandDave Thanks Dave!!
@@HelenandDave Hoping to buy one at Lincoln Warner show.
@@stuartrich2499 great purchase we use it 99% of the time 👍
Is adnans ghost ship available in supermarkets nationwide
Hi Cameron, we’ve seen it in a lot of places but not certain if it’s available nationwide. If you want to try it though you can order online here is the link adnams.co.uk/
@@HelenandDave thank you think mac&sarah were talking about it in one of their videos tried an ale called haven on a site was visiting was absolutely vile not nice at all though everybodys tastes are different somebody must like it
Sorry for the daft sense of humour, but during the opening sequence of driving there was a dot matrix on your windscreen with the reflection of something on your dashboard. Knowing you're into Aircraft made me think it looked like a targeting system, I was waiting for - "We're too close, switching to Guns". Sorry again, I'll show myself out.
Ha Ha, given some of the loonies on the road, that sounds like a good investment 😂👍
We have 2 rules in our van , no n0 2s and no showers , £36 a night with no facilities 😮 , too expensive, sorry
No need to apologise to us Adrian, life is all about personal choices. We’re heading back next month. The only rule we have is ‘enjoy yourself’. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave 👍😊
I must admit I’d expect it to be cheaper without facilities - seems to be priced similar to those with facilities. Glad you enjoyed it. Looks a nice place.
