Yeah, Kuro does their best to make sure both Rovers are shown in the out of game media in fairly equal measure. The way they cut between the two is always really well done, too!
Tbf Rover is literally the same person, but now we need it for Star Rail. Genshin and ZZZ are different people, so that's a bit harder to change and probably twice the amount of files. Especially ZZZ, but at least you can walk around as the other twin.

No I'm a game dev, i know it's fkiG easy to switch. File size will remain same because male and female both already existed. All you need to know it can even be switch mid combat with a bit of shader lag. Any gacha game can do it.

To be fair in geshin and most of the mihoyo games have a clear intention that the other gender is actually a seperate person. Lumine is probably the canon dark princess while aether (because money) is the canonical traveler. In ZZZ, they made the player characters siblings to avoid that
