  • A walk around our Mitsubishi Triton MR that we used to travel Australia on a 3 year Big Lap and more. As well as the Big Lap Around Australia, its also been used for many remote and rugged trips including, a Simpson Desert Crossing, The Oodnadatta Track, Flinders Ranges and multiple trips to K;gari AKA Fraser Island.
It's been a great, safe and reliable vehicle setup to accommodate our family of 4.

It’s good to see an outfit that’s not all sponsored gear and in a price point for the normal person can possibly afford, thanks mate.

Thanks mate. My whole fit out is probably cheaper than the price of a upper market canopy. I should have worked out the cost but, honestly I’d rather not think about it lol.

Agree, most others on YT are just out for the most expensive FREE gear they can get their hands on, and probably use about 20% of the stuff supplied

I love that it’s easy to move the canopy along to any tray back ute. Which as you know is exactly what we did.

    I have a 2018 Triton 4x4,4 Cylinder manual.
It's interesting that you got the suspension modified.
I have a canopy on mind with a Titanium drawer system.
We live on the north west coast of Tasmania and next summer we will be doing a trip to Sandy cape.
At the moment I am looking at suspension modifications for the Triton.

@@petermercer5968 hi mate. The standard suspension was fine with just our canopy minus the RTT. But I did the suspension change as part of the GVM upgrade and to tow our caravan.

Hey mate, watched a few of your vids but can't remember if your triton is a GLS or not. I ask because I have a GLS (also blue, nice choice!) and was making enquiries about smaller rims and the word on the street was the GLS/GSR calipers were pretty big and made it difficult to get rims that would fit.
    Thanks for all your videos!

Do you have an email that I'll be able to get as I would like to ask you some questions about the car as I have the 2021 mr and I would like to ask some more questions about is and questions about going off road in the mr.

Navara NP300 (53k)and yes I could have had the Trident, live and learn. Tray and powder coated canopy (China) fitted (7k) factory triers on alloy rims (1k) hoop less factory alloy bull bar after accident on Hervey Bay round about 2.8k and driving light (.5k) safety Dave camera, clear view mirrors, throttle controller and Brown Davis 150ltr long range tank (3.5k) Pedders 350kg constant leaf springs, heavy duty shocks, new shackles and neoprene bushers (1.8k) weight distribution hitch (.5k) . It still wouldn’t pull the skin off a custard and I’ve had holdern red motors that pulled better and the 4ltr ford Barra motor has to be the best tow motors I’ve ever had (should of got an XR6 turbo wagon years ago 😂😂) When the bride goes to England soon I’m hoping to sneak it into ultimate diesel engineering on the Gold Coast so they can wave a magic wand over the bugga,I just need to get up that way again and register it in Queensland before I start mucking with it to much. Hopefully making it to Cairns this winter before returning for the legends of charity even at Goomburra in August. Hi mate. This setup when loaded for a trip like our Simpson Desert crossing was maxing out even my upgraded GVM at 3190kg and rear axle at around 1840 kgs. Thats why we had to change it out for a new ranger. The Ute still handles fine at these weights it was more a case of staying legal with our weights.

    • @AdventuringPals
      @AdventuringPals  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi mate. When I got this ute it was great value for the money, and suited our needs at the time. Also, the super select 2 with its on road 4wd system was unmatched in the dual cab market.
We are currently in the process of trading in the Triton for another dual cab ute. Unfortunately, this time it won’t be another Triton. I will do a video of all the details on why I’m changing and why I chose what I did. I will do this closer to the time of trading in. This was my third Triton and I love the brand and recommend it to anyone who is wanting one.

I also have a mr triton and for I chose it because of a fue things, the 1st is the price as I looked at Nissan and for the base modle it was the same price ans the mr with, towbar, slim line window shade things, nudge bar with lights bar built in, tub liner, ko2 tyers, real roll bar, tornacover, tie down points, tinted windows and also rubber and carpet floor mats all from Mitsubishi so they are all covered under the 10 year warranty as that's how I drove the car out if the car yard and all that way the same price as the bass model Nissan nav that didn't even have carpet. They have the 10 year warranty and also the 10 cap price service unlike other brands. I can do everything that the other brands can do but I have better factory warranty.
