    I used 6mm2 cable to connect the fridge to a fuzebox with a 10 A fuze. If you use bigger wire, that is fine. But if you go to 10mm2 you will have trouble connecting it to standard fuze boxes. Fuzebox is connected directly to the battery.

      Hi. You would be best using 6mm 17A cable. There is much less voltage drop with the larger cable,the smaller cable will cause the fridge to frequently turn itself off. A 10A fuse is best. the manual will probably say 5A,but I've found that this will frequently blow. Hope this helps.

      Hi KevGermany. We mentioned in the video regarding the stoppers at the back of the frisge unit allowing air to pass by. The cooling fins. The furniture in this case has a large air gap surrounding the sides and rear of the fridge unit and the feet allow cool air to to travel in from the front.

    • @kevgermany
      @kevgermany 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CombeValleyCampers thanks, I did see the buffers at the back. Wasn't clear to me how much space for air inlet once finished. But what is still unclear is how the hot air is supposed to get out from the back. Reason I ask is that my house fridge has a similar built in fitting. Works fine in winter, but as soon as summer comes, there isn't enough airflow to let the warm air out from behind. Was guessing this may be an issue with camper fridges. I half thought about using a pc fan as an extractor wired to come on when the compressor kick in.
      Or does your experience say I'm worrying unnecessarily as far as campers are concerned?

    • @fraserhardmetal7143
      @fraserhardmetal7143 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The better the airflow the more efficiently the fridge will operate. I would make sure a good natural air convection is ensured in the installation i.e. a reasonable air gap at least at the base and back of the unit , with means for the warm air to ventilate above the fridge.
      Dependant on ambient temperature, contents and rate of door opening/closing, I would fit a thermostatically controlled mini fan , positioned to blow air across the condenser coil/motor. During hot weather, combined with a tight installation, the fridge can struggle to maintain an acceptable temperature - particularly if spending time in southern Europe.
