Hello and welcome to our next Kirby adventure for the channel! We decided to stick to the Nintendo Switch for the next title in the series, and so far we are delighted with what we've seen! Today we enter a familiar world, as we begin our adventure with Kirby Star Allies!!

People have said this already, but always remember to check pause screen menus during the game. Pretty much all the game’s lore is in them.
Specifically during boss battles otherwise they only get description for power--ups
not to mention this game has input combos.
17:00 The runaway guys screamed through “Kirby returns to dreamland” and “Kirby star allies” like maniacs, so they definitely have you beat.
Casey no longer needs the powers of the spear, she has evolved.
Nevermind the spear is still here, but better.
Okay, so the thing about doing Star Allies is that it's a GIANT CELEBRATION OF ALL THINGS KIRBY. 95% of the enjoyment of the game is knowing all the history before it and enjoying all the callbacks. So if you don't know much about Kirby, all of this will be very confusing, but it ALL builds on every game from the first game. There's a LOT about the story that WON'T make sense to you and will seem random since you haven't played the prior games but is absolutely SHOCKING to veterans.
Oh, and that's not even getting into all the other little callbacks. For example: literally the very first thing you heard when you booted up the game. That opening tune on the intro? It's intentionally a callback to the opening of Kirby Super Star for the SNES, widely considered one of the best Kirby games made so far.
You can definitely still have fun though, even if you don’t get everything about it.

@@thecreatorofpc7929 Even though I loved Kirby as a character for a long time, I think this was kinda my first taste with Kirby games. I've since then went back and experienced other parts of the series, but I agree that even if you aren't in the know, it's still a fun little experience overall.
Hot take - the story makes exactly as much sense with and without pre-knowledge. The references and stuff are a nice bonus, but you could strip all of them out and the plot wouldn't be affected.
By the way, that pause screens now have move lists on them, that tell you how to use your currently equipped ability. *Pause screens during boss fights also contain the lore in this game.*

And yeah, Dedede getting possessed is more or less the Kirby version of Bowser kidnapping Peach.

So… not the best starter for Kirby games, but if you choose this then I won’t prevent you. It might suck the experience of past games. If you want lore remember to pause on bosses to read text

I like how this is the game that should have been the conclusion of the Kirby franchise and that this is the second one they’re playing.

The name you’re looking for is Kirby Triple Deluxe, it was on the 3DS. Hence the title. Side note I lowkey love how dumb a bunch of 3DS games were titled with how they were determined to make a 3-D joke. My favorite being Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance because I still have no idea how much of that dedication to finding a title with three D’s contributed to the story.

So a few things about this game:
Most abilities are a lot more complex than in forgotten land, and there are a lot more than in that game as well
By pausing the game, you can see information about bosses, mini bosses, and abilities. This is where the games lore is mainly hidden

I know I've said it before, but I really don't think it's a good idea to start with this game... Playing an all-stars game like this without knowing the all-stars cast just feels like you won't be able to enjoy it to its fullest, _and_ you'll probably get a bunch of spoilers for the games these characters originally came from.
Are you sure you don't want to pause this playthrough and start with Return to Dreamland? It's your choice in the end, but I think it would really help your overall enjoyment of the series, and this game, too.
I'd suggest they go even further and start with Super Star Ultra. Y'know, for Planet Robobot reasons.

I can already tell I'm going to thoroughly enjoy you both constantly messing up with trying to get allies, only to kill them accidentally.

(Also make sure to check the screen pause alot in this game, if you do it for your character it'll give you an description and your moveset but even more importantly if you pause on the bosses it'll give you there lore)

Perhaps Return to Dream Land would have been a better starting point for a second game, but this'll still be really fun
Of the two, this one is definitely built with multiplayer in mind, though. Return to Dream Land is a lot of fun and it does have multiplayer, but (much like Forgotten Land) that multiplayer feels pretty tacked on after the fact

Howdy! I'm brand new (and late) to the channel. I don't like how "high energy" other Kirby TH-camrs are and I really like how casual y'all are. I am super excited to watch the entire Star Allies series since it was my first and one of my favorite Kirby Games!
Don't forget to check the pause menu for bosses they give lore and for some it's different lore for different phases. Also abilities have a lot more moves in this game than forgotten land so it might be good to check the movesets for abilities and dreamfriends. One last thing try throwing hearts at the end of some bosses(doesn't work on all bosses) it has some fun effects that aren't required for 100% I only knew about them after seeing it online after beating the game.

You guys will enjoy the game in what it has to offer. And don´t worry, the levels will get pretty good the more progress you make.
Also, HINT WITH NO SPOILER: As the pause will give you info about the power Kirby gets and how the movesets are, same goes with bosses info. So each time you go with a main boss battle, be sure to pause and check their info for some little plot revelation.

If you get Taranza or Susie as a Dream Friend, I recommend getting rid of them *immediately* , as their movesets contain MASSIVE spoilers for the games they're from.
Also, pause screens are important here, as they not only give info on movesets, but also lore during bosses.

This is a pretty easy but also very fun adventure especially when you have friends, I played this with some people in my family and it was so much fun playing as different characters and getting all collectibles and beating the bosses. Love it so much, definitely one of my favourite 2d Kirby games. 💓
Yo this game was amazing with its dlc characters with remastered maps from the games they first appeared in!
While I am excited they're playing this game, it's a little sad knowing how confused they'll be over some of this games amazing references and expansions to previous kirby lore. Oh and make sure to use the pause menu, every ability in this game has an expansive move set and it's where most of the boss lore is contained.

Forgotten Land is the first Kirby game like that. I wouldn't compare previous games to it, to be honest. What you're playing now is more normal Kirby and how it's always been.

If the puzzles feel too easy that’s because the tips are turned on by default, you can turn them off in the main menu settings.

no way i love this game its this is the 2nd kirby main series game i love who ever thought of the GG i cant stop you but you can take a day or 2 off for a little more rest

Forgotten Land was your first? Well I recommend trying Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby Super Star, Kirby & the Crystal Shards next. And they're all available on the Switch online service emulation (I think), but the Crystal Shards one requires the expanded Switch Online service.
Adventure is also in the NSO collection
Alas, Kirby 64 and Adventure are not multiplayer though
Also this games abilities are far more complex than that of Forgotten Land so I recommend checking the pause screen to learn the moves.

Moar kirby, yes! It's a bit of a sin to have Star Allies as your introduction to 2.5d kirby, as you'll meet a bunch of characters before their time AND fail to understand one of the biggest lore drops of the franchise, but It's no big deal.
I just really hope you aren't planning on playing the kirby series backwards. You'd end up missing a LOT of references.

Oh... So... You decided to go with Star Allies? Okay then, you're gonna have fun with this game. Just don't forget to pause the game to look at the extra descriptions for abilities, characters and bosses! I think even the world you're on has the description so feel free to read those as well!
If you liked the little descriptions from the figurines in Forgotten Land, you're gonna have to pause once you get a new ability or get to a boss to read them.
Just two hints, super quick: You can see which enemies can be friended if you see a tiny heart symbol on top of them.
And also, because this is a 2D game, Kirby and friends can hover/jump infinitely.
Also, don't forget to experiment with the Friend Abilities, any hand weapon can be infused with elements
I’ve thought this game dose revolve around Allies, the game does give you the right Allies when you need them. If you want to get rid of Allies for a more single player experience press L or R+Y.
Ahhh, yay Star Allies! 🥰 I see a lot of people in the comments saying that this game makes more sense if you've played all the prior games, and I kinda disagree. Yes, the references hit better if you have, and you'll know the characters. But this game is a great introduction and for me it served as a good incentive to go back and play other games just to get to know these neat characters in their original forms. I highly recommend that if you take a liking to any of them, check out their game!

star allies, huh? a few others have said its not the best starting point and im inclined to agree. not only for all the lore and callbacks yall wont understand but also because the game is... just not as good as the others in the 2.5d era lol. im sure yall wont notice too much wrong since its your first one but trust me, if this game ever feels underwhelming when compared to forgotten land, the others wont.

people hate on this game way too much the only problem i have with this game is that its too short
hope you guys try out kirby and the amazing mirror. im not sure how well received it is, i know i personally didnt have a good time, so maybe its better left as a personal playthrough instead.
But I only suggest it because casey would be able to play as a full ass other kirby with the same copy abilities and everything. the only caveat is that you'd need a second game/device and connect to eachother to play the co-op. which i suppose only adds to it being unviable for a youtube series lol
Its a GBA game, i dont know if its available on switch or if it even has multiplayer functionality there either. regardless thats a lot of work for a game that might not even be worth the time. But I never had anyone to play co-op with on that game, so I was just interested in seeing someone play through it

I have to agree with a lot of people here: this really isn't the best starting point for 2D Kirby. You might enjoy this game more if you start with Super Star, skip to Return to Dreamland, and go in order from there.
Remember to pause the game during bosses, that’s where they hide the lore
