Nice! Did this with an M951.. going to be doing to a G2 I ordered for cheap. Was curious if you knew if those could take rechargeable 18650s over 2 123s, like my Streamlights do?

If your going to be useing a surefire g2 it will not take 18650 batteries. Depending on what bulb voltage you got you could have 2 options. If the bulb is 9v you can use rechargable 16340 batteries. If the bulb is only 6v you can use a 16650 battery. Less capacity of the 18650 but will fit your g2.

    Why remove the outer spring?
Can I see a link too please

You can trim the outer spring down. If you leave the spring on the head does not screw down

Do I need a McClicky tailcap to access the modes? I just have the original tailcap for my SF 6Z. Also, I've checked the Solarforce website and I'm kinda of confused as to which specific drop in this is. Thanks.

you do not need the clicky but it does make it easier. The reason being you do need to turn on, then off, then on fast to change modes. You can use your original push in or twist on off to switch modes. Ill post a link to the bulb for you.

I love the z2 body. What's your favorite surefire light,? I just got a new 4 led nichia led drop in with a voltage of 3-9.

Also have a question. Is there an upgrade for the old sf 511a rifle forend light.

@@markmolter6937 what type of buld does that take? Is it still two batteries?

    • @flashlightreviews876

@@markmolter6937 I had to do a little research on that light. Never own one. It looks like it all ready has a led installed in the 511. Is the correct? If it does have a led all ready installed you will not be able to do much. The only thing you could possible do is the led chip but you would have to send them the hole light. If the bulb is similar to a surefire p60 bulb (that is removeable) then it is easily switch it out.
