Wow Lara! The pants did not look so good on the dress form but they looked FABULOUS on YOU at the reveal! So BEAUTIFUL!!! Really! It looked like a stunning skirt! If you are not comfortable to wear them out, you could wear them as loungewear at home. But I must say, I love them on you! I'm going over to see Erin's now. See you on your stream Sunday!! ❤❤
Thank you so much Grace! I'm going to give myself a little space from the making and then I'll decide if I want to keep them or recycle them. I was happy to give the pattern a try, and maybe I'll get more comfortable about wearing them after all. It was all for fun, and I had fun, so I guess in the end it was a win!! I'm looking forward to chatting on Sunday -- thank you so much!♥♥♥
It was interesting to see the pants sewn up. I don't like to wear clothes that fasten oddly or feel insecure, so I will not give this pattern a try. I'm taping together the Glebe pants pattern as I watch. They are a very wide leg pant. I'm not sure how I will like that, but sometimes you just have to try.
I went and looked up the Glebe pants! Wide legged pants are so in right now, and it's always good to try something new at least once. I wasn't sure how the skirt part of the pattern might look, but I was willing to try it out. I hope your Glebe pants turn out good and you like them a lot! Thanks for watching and commenting today!!❤
Hi Lara! I actually thought the pants looked very chic on you in the reveal! But if you don’t like something and are not comfortable wearing it, that’s what really matters (I think so anyway). I hope to join in for your livestream this Sunday 🙂
Hi, Michelle! Thanks for the vote of confidence! I admit I'm now kind of undecided on the pants, so I'll just wait a bit and then maybe think about wearing them again later. If I remain reluctant I'm just going to recycle them. I hope to see you Sunday, but if not it's not a problem. I've appreciated the times you've been able to join, but we all have lives, too!! :D Have a great evening!
Thank you! I think you're right. I had actually made a top that looks pretty nice with the pants, but decided to save it for my next video, because I didn't want to waste it on these pants... 😆 I'll be sharing it this upcoming weekend, but I'm thinking of doing a little reveal with the yellow pants, too. Maybe! Thanks so much for stopping and saying hi! I've missed you!♥
The opening clip made me laugh so hard because I had the exact thought several times while I was making my pair. I think yours turned out well (I love the color) but I get what you mean by feeling like you’re not all the way dressed. I laughed a lot during this video, so thank you for the entertainment, the beautiful sunset, and the collab!
I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one! Thank you for the collab, too! I did have fun, and I don't regret at all our choice, because now I know what they look like and how I feel about them! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I'm hoping I can keep the comedy up, because it was so much more fun to video! :D Happy weekend!
I love wide leg pants on other people, but I've had terrible falling experiences with my feet getting caught up in the bottom part of the pant leg😮😮😮. I can't even say it happened three times because it happened more. That's when I went to Capri's when I was wearing pants.😅😅😅 Your pants look good on you. You almost need a degree to put on those pants! Hahaha I'm sorry you're not love-struck with them. Have a blessed weekend and happy sewing. 🪡🧵
You bring up an excellent point, Zelda! I did actually get my foot caught at one point, but managed to not fall, thank goodness! I'm so sorry you fell multiple times! I think I'll let some time pass before I decide to completely end them, but I really don't think I'd ever wear them out... Thanks for the kind comments and wishes, and I hope you have a great weekend too!♥
I like these pants, they look like a flowy skirt! I don’t think I would make them, but I never planned on making them. 😅 the photos on simplicity gave bohemian beach vibes, but that’s it. So styling might be a little difficult outside of that look. Looking forward to your birthday outfit! Will definitely be joining this Sunday for the live chat! 🥰 Loving the beautiful nature clips you add in! 💕
I would agree completely that the vibe is bohemian and while I want to be able to rock that style, I don't really have the right body type. It's all good, though. I did have fun working with Erin and part of sewing is being able to try out new things, so I guess I'm happy with it all. I'm glad you liked my add-ins! I just love sharing the beauty I see around me!! I look forward to chatting on Sunday and thank you so much for your willingness to keep coming back!😊♥
I hope you have a lovely birthday! I love your pants; I think they are really elegant. I'm sorry that you don't like them and had such a frustrating time sewing them. Maybe if you put them in the back of your closet and let a little time pass, you might have a different opinion. I recently made a dress and thought it looked awful on me, but a few weeks later I tried it on and realized if I styled it differently it really didn't look bad. I do realize that these are probably disconcerting to wear until you get used to them because they are so different, and sometimes we do just *know* that we don't like something, but I personally think you did a great job.
Thank you for the birthday wishes!! I think I'll take your advice and let some time pass before I totally give up on them. I'm wondering if I replaced the ribbon with something more sturdy if I would feel more secure wearing them. I liked how Erin made a strap, so that might be worth a try. Thanks for your kind comments and for watching! I really appreciate you!! 🥰
I think the pants look great on you, very stylish. A fitted top would go better I think. I actually have a pair of pants like these (not me made) and I love wearing them. They make me feel really good and different to the run of the mill trousers. Anyway I hope you give them a go. Take care from the UK x
Thanks for the encouragement, Norma! I have decided to hold on to the pants for a bit, and try again with a different top. Maybe I should make a bodysuit…🤔 Thanks for watching, and encouraging me to keep trying!
Hi Lara, I think the pantskirt looks good on you but… I’m like you I don’t think I would ever wear them. Since they are such large pieces could you do something else with the fabric. Erin’s look good too.
Thanks so much for watching! I liked how Erin's looked, too! And I am happy she had a little better experience with the pattern. I'm thinking I should wait a bit before I put them in my fabric recycling bag, and you are right, I can always reuse the fabric for something else. :D I hope you have a great weekend!!❤
I think it looked uber elegant! I’d pair it with a higher shirt, made you look taller, not squashier (I forgot your endearing term) at all. Alas, Sorry you didn’t like them. Thx for sharing, esp. the sunset.
Thank you so much for your vote of confidence! I might have to try the pants again in a week or so, after I get some rest and recover from the making of them. 😁 I'm just being dramatic... I couldn't believe how beautiful the sunset was! And it videoed quite nicely, too. Thanks so much for watching!!
Erin said in her video it wasn't as difficult as a person might think. To be honest, I was so convinced I wouldn't be wearing these that I didn't even think about the bathroom!🤣😂🤣
Lara, I like the pants. They are chic. I can see it in a print fabric and a top that matches it.
Thank you, Vanessa! I agree, they could be really cute in a print! Thanks for coming and watching!

It looks great on you! Maybe try a more fitted, shorter top!

I love the sunsets from that view! I think the pants looked nice on you!
Thank you! Did you see the moon rise the other night? It was gigantic!!

Lara, I just realized that this pattern is almost identical to Butterick B7000 View B. I have it on my pattern wish list! Hmmm. Very interesting!
I wonder if it's the same construction? That's interesting that Butterick has a version, too. Do you think they just repackaged it?
I think they look lovely
Thank you!!❤️
I forgot to mention that the sunset was heavenly!!!
It was soooo pretty! I'm so please the fog was visible on the video, too. It was breathtaking, for real.
The pants look vintage style
You're right! They're part of the Vintage collection! :D

They look good on you but surely they'd be very awkward if you needed to go to the bathroom?
