His mother recently passed away and going through her house (which felt like a house frozen in time from the 60s when it was built) really made me appreciate the generation and how people lived back then. This reminds me of shopping with my mom in the early 70s. I love the shirt, especially. It almost makes me sad, in a good way. I can just imagine the cat eye reading glasses, and the giant hair bun, and extra slim cigarettes.
The 50s and 60s had their dark sides, and my dad was drafted in 1961, but I was a privileged lower middle-class white girl whose whole world didn’t extend much past my block, with occasional forays to “town” with my mom. So for me, the 60s were indeed idyllic.
Sherri the set and ambience is absolutely stunning! Your voice is so incredibly soothing. Thank you for putting in all the hard work to make your beautiful sets. Hope you are feeling better 💜💜
