Everything Fjallraven I've used has been top notch. Ir ecently switched my McKinley 75L backpack for a Fjallraven Kajka. When I pack it with the same weight of 20kg/44lb, it felt like I carried 4kg/9lb less with the Fjallraven. Incredibly comfortable!
And another excellent video. Looks like a well thought out and nicely built pack. Also, I like how you mentioned the price right up front. Well done, guys.
Another high quality backwoods product from Sweden. I sub to Gulrica and to Magnus Andersson....both in Sweden and I am usually amazed at the quality of their gear (Mora's...Light My Fire, etc)....including packs and even clothing. Thanks for another very informative review!
Charles Larson Thanks for watching Charles. Yea the Swedish really know how to design and make some pretty awesome gear. I hope to test out more products from Fjallraven in the future. Anything of theirs you really like? -Krik
Black Owl Outdoors Well, I've seen both Magnus and Ulrica wearing some awesome armored trousers that could possible be from Fjallraven.Think they're called Vidda Pro. Although buying clothing is always risky because of different sizing around the world.
hiphop909 Hey there. Right now we don't have any hats for sale but that should change in the near future. Do you follow us on Instagram/Facebook/our website? We post updates on those that don't always make it to TH-cam. -Krik
Hopefully having a US branch will mean Fjallraven gear is easier to find on ebay and online etc. The only packs I can get here are the little Kanken packs. Looking forward to the full review!
Black Owl Outdoors i wanted the helags so bad but then they discontinued it :( In your opinon how does this pack compare to the helags? I feel this would be perfect for when i go on 3-5 day hunting trips
BDragonmasTer Not all of their videos, only the recent ones. Check for example the "Char Cloth Redemption" video and the sound is just fine, but some videos before and after have this problem. I hear they have some problems with the microphone.
Thanks for doing this overview, you two! Looking forward to the review, because this is a serious contender for my next pack. Is the G-1000 waxed? It doesn't look like it. If not, what's Fjällräven's advise on it? Cheers! -Bas
Black Owl Outdoors I want to know how big they are when stuffed, whether their sizes match to what manufacturer is saying abt them. Which would be your pick Helags or Friluft?
G 1000 material seems okay but the elasticated fabric they use on there jackets and bags isn't as it bobbles when exposed to friction such as rucksack straps. But i do like the design of Fjallraven products
Black Owl Outdoors I've got the Abisko jacket, bought it for hillwalking but just use it for everyday use now because of the issue with wearing with pack
This is a good backpack review which is so hard to watch. You have ~5 mins of content extended to over 16. Just cut all the extra out and you'll have a great video.

Extremely high quality backpack. just like everything they produce... Expensive, but high quality. Worth it if you're serious about it.
Rebelgium My thoughts exactly.
I really love that you're reviewing the Fjallraven stuff. This company seems like they legitimately care about making a quality product.

Bob Buchholz Thanks for watching Bob. I'm a fan of Fjallraven. They have great designs using awesome materials. -Krik
Good review. Seems to be a nice size and good storage. Having a rain fly is a plus as is the detachable bag. Thanks for sharing. atb Opal
How sturdy are the daisy chain strips? Are they only good for the bird bag or can i tie some gear to it without fearing a tear?
+Travis Martin I wouldn't attach anything really heavy to them.
Fjällräven is definitely my favorite outdoor brand :)
Nice review and a nice backpack! Take care, Joachim
Hi Guys! Thank you for showing the backpack. But can you tell me, if the shoulderstraps are well padded?
Andre Börsch Padded enough in relation to the bag and its design. I never had a problem with them. Does that help? -Krik
Black Owl Outdoors Yes, thanks - that helped! Waiting for your test !
I'm taking the Friluft 55 on its first hike very soon. That should be interesting! So far I like the clever and lightweight design a lot.
***** Awesome! Enjoy your hike.
Detailed overview, good quality production and some creepy bag stroking. What more could you want?
How durable is the Fjallraven Ventilation mesh?

Beautiful bag!
Ben Kaufman It certainly is.
cool bag, great overview, can't wait to see the review
with THE helags discontinued, would you recommend this bag for bushcraft or something else
Sorry I think I've asked before but where can I get those black owl outdoor hats again
hiphop909 Hey there. Right now we don't have any hats for sale but that should change in the near future. Do you follow us on Instagram/Facebook/our website? We post updates on those that don't always make it to TH-cam. -Krik
that is a slick pack.. great review!!
Black Owl Outdoors Would a Nato/military canteen and nesting cup fit in the side stretch pockets?? Thinking about this pack for a day-pack setup. D
Hopefully having a US branch will mean Fjallraven gear is easier to find on ebay and online etc. The only packs I can get here are the little Kanken packs. Looking forward to the full review!
CedricAda Gear and Outdoors I just used the Helags on a 3 day backpacking trip. Still loving it. Which products of theirs are you into right now?
Black Owl Outdoors i wanted the helags so bad but then they discontinued it :( In your opinon how does this pack compare to the helags? I feel this would be perfect for when i go on 3-5 day hunting trips
Alex Sarno It has similar features of the Helags. But the main differences would be the large outside pockets and the mesh back.
How would you say this compares with the Fjällräven Helags backpack?
zedjohan Compares to in what way?
Is it just me or is the audio a little muffled?
All of their videos have the sort of unclear audio you're talking about. I just got used to it, content still remains great!
BDragonmasTer Not all of their videos, only the recent ones. Check for example the "Char Cloth Redemption" video and the sound is just fine, but some videos before and after have this problem. I hear they have some problems with the microphone.
Jari Perho It's honestly just a post production issue. The audio can easily be boosted during editing, not sure why they're not doing that.
Is it still available in the U.S? Not available in Germany right now, it seems.
maya helmich Yes it's available in the US.
Thanks for doing this overview, you two! Looking forward to the review, because this is a serious contender for my next pack.

Out and About West This was not waxed. But all G-1000 CAN be waxed if desired.
Where can I buy this bag? I can't find it anywhere.
Kirk could you please review Friluft 45 and 55 comparing to the Forest 35? This pack is lighter than Helgas and looks a lot better imo.
Piotrek1985 I don't have those larger sizes at the moment. What do you want to know about them?
Black Owl Outdoors I want to know how big they are when stuffed, whether their sizes match to what manufacturer is saying abt them. Which would be your pick Helags or Friluft?
How is this one compare to the north face camping backpack series?
Sorry but I don't have much experience with North Face packs.
Haha, no worries man. Just curious. This one is pretty cool !
Hey Kirk,
Nice review! Can you tell me how tall you are or how long your back is? I wonder if its to large for me cause I´m kinda small ;) thanks!
+Thomas Wilken I am 5 feet 9 inches tall.
The side pockets wear out by just looking at it...is there no way to use a waterbag at all?...dammed....
Great video! Thanks!!
G 1000 material seems okay but the elasticated fabric they use on there jackets and bags isn't as it bobbles when exposed to friction such as rucksack straps. But i do like the design of Fjallraven products
Ben Grooves Interesting. I haven't tested out any of their clothing yet. Which products have this "trouble" elasticated fabric you mention?
Black Owl Outdoors I've got the Abisko jacket, bought it for hillwalking but just use it for everyday use now because of the issue with wearing with pack
Kul att se mitt hantverk uppskattat av en jänkare.
er du fra Taiwan da det bliver lavet der alt de vi får i Danmark nemlig?
Öh... va?
love Fjallraven products, a bit pricey tho.
Do an edc video
This looks gear for hot weather with the mesh back..
Nice Pack and gear. It seems you can't go wrong with Fjallraven products!? ATB Sepp
Waldhandwerk You're right about that Sepp, everything I've tested from Fjallraven has performed very well. -Krik
Turtles?? Great review.
turtles? I don't get it.
I just subbed :)
Thanks!

Fjallravern is good stuff but cost a fortune.
EvilLabrador1 I hear ya. I've been eyeing up those wool trousers for a while now. Maybe some day.. Ha. -Krik
EvilLabrador1 Just purchased a "Rucksack No21 large" a couple of days ago, worth every penny.
Good for you buddy.
1st sorry I just had to
You never ever want a floppy pocket
He Jack THE Back packer I see you doing a video about a backpack in 17 minutes
