- There are a ton of poser watches out there. Trying to be “tactical-cool”, look rugged and beefy, look like they live up to the toughness of our everyday gear, but then you get it in your hand and the case feels hollow because it’s to lightweight, the case size is made for a girl, and the lume sucks.
But they’ll have a cool name on it and a cool story behind it.
Well, Winfield Watch Company has entered the chat. A veteran-owned brand where the owner, Mark Miller wanted to make watches like the handmade customs he used to make for friends. Watches made for adventure. Flying, hiking, diving, camping, hiking, hunting, everything. He cut his teeth on building custom Seiko mods and evolved to a full scale manufacturer to chase his entrepreneurial dream. Winfield watches have made their way up to Everest and been on the wrists of tactical shooting instructors who fell in love with the rugged good looks and matching rugged quality.

That’s a lot of money for an NH35 movement in a Seiko homage case.
Sorry, I thought I was pretty thorough in detailing why it’s not. I can show you a dozen watches with the exact same movement, but NOT regulated and not assembled in the U.S. and not made to this degree that are more expensive. That’s honestly the majority of the microbrand industry.
@@JimSkeltonKnivesthese r not made in the USA they r just assembled in the USA if I’m not mistaken.
@@Shifftymkingcorrect. There is a significant distinction, I was trying to reply too quickly. But again, all the other watches we would compare to this would be made in China wholly. US labor is expensive.
@@JimSkeltonKnives I agree completely. Having these assembled by a small team in the USA ensures u will get a worry free experience for the most part and that’s basically what u r paying for here. Verses a Chinese option with a qc card that is unsigned and means nothing and good luck if u have qc issues or the item comes damaged or broken u r basically stuck with the item and out the money. Not to mention waiting on shipping and praying it makes it past customs without an issue. Just the option of knowing u can call there company and talk to an English speaking person if u have a problems is worth the money to me lol. Nice review I love all the high quality pictures in ur videos so beautiful to see it’s obvious u invest a lot of time and energy into ur reviews and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
@@Shifftymking Thank you 🙏🏻
Awesome song!
Jim is back ? To watch bussines.
@@LuisLanza-w4u check the description too, there’s info for my watch review channel 👍
Here for the Jim Skelton band.
Jim is wild as hell.
😂
Feels pricey!
Only if you don’t know what watches cost 🤷♂️.
I get it the pushback but the spec sheet doesn’t really support it. A 9000 series miyota on a good bracelet would differentiate it more from Phobos or orient or Citizen. Aragon is a great place for bigger watches as well. Nice video, any way!
@@KP-wp5szWhile I can’t know about each and every single watch made by every brand, I’m unaware of any watch available with a regulated movement, sapphire, USA assembly (significant because of the much higher labor cost), and individual case testing instead of standard batch testing for anywhere close to their prices. If you do, please suggest some to me so I can check them out. Not being snarky, I want to try to get one if you know of others.
@@JimSkeltonKnives Vaer, Nodus, Dufrane, Jack Mason, lslander, all assembled in US and regulated. This is a good back and forth and I am still learning as well. There are many subreddits posts on this very topic - the list is long
@@KP-wp5szdouble checking on a few of those since I don’t have their catalogs memorized yet. I see that the least expensive comparable Jack Mason to this watch is $750 and most are around $999. So they’re definitely not anywhere near the $425 price of the Winfield.
Vaer at $699 in automatics, and even their solar quartz are much more expensive than the automatic Winfields.
Dufrane are $555-$1200. Definitely not the same as the $425 Winfield.
And I think Islander Watches are really awesome, and the prices are comparable, but they’re not USA assembled, they’re made in China, and Marc doesn’t list any movements as regulated.
So I have to stand by my statement that I still haven’t seen any micro brands offering what Winfield does, specifically the more costly features like regulated movements , Sapphire and USA assembly labor costs anywhere near their $425 prices.
Why are you reviewing watches on a knife review channel !?
Why did you hop into the comments section to ask about something that I spent a LOT of time explaining?
AI music?
Yes. I write the lyrics, AI performs it.
