I wear a tee, short or long sleeves, under sweaters, and I have a million camis that I use too. It's interesting to read the comments and your video is just great. I moved to a much colder climate a couple months ago so now I get to wear sweaters - this was my life's goal lol. I'm one of these people who doesn't feel the cold so I would faint with thermal layering or tights. Collecting tips here because it's very cold so I may be layering soon also. 😄
Hi Chi I love the cradgin with the pants and wearing stockings with it keeps you warm. Love the button sweater looks great on you with those lovely pants and the flats gorgeous outfits and you look amazing in them. Thank you so much Chi you have been fun to watch this year and looking forward to more if your fabulous videos in the coming year. Have a lovely and wonderful New Year's love! ❤🤗
Great tips! Many people can’t wear wool against their skin because it makes them itch. For those people silk or a synthetic underlayer is best. I itch even with cashmere at against my skin. So I Have different colors (for when I wear white sweaters) and different necklines (crew neck for crew neck sweaters) lower neckline of underlayer for v necks because I’m always cold(haha). Costco actually has wonderful underlayer pieces in dark and light colors amd they are synthetic so no itching. I have the widens cut for lower neckline amd I go the xl in the kids size for a crew neck. Very reasonably priced and work great! Also for the wind I think a very long puffer or wool coat to cover the legs works great. Happy holidays! Love the lined pants. Can you link them please?
Good tips, fortunately my climate (coastal California) doesn’t get too cold, but chill wind is a big problem here too. I think a wind-blocking layer is important, even having a lining on a wool coat helps. As we get into the peri-menopausal, then menopausal, years, overheating is a huge problem for us women, and most Americans overheat their homes, stores and offices, so breathable layers are so important. After about 15 years of overheating/hot flashes, at age 60, I can finally wear sweaters again and am really enjoying getting a wardrobe of them. I think one of the most important things is just to avoid fabrics that contain polyester or other synthetics, they’re hot and sticky indoors (they’re really just woven or knitted plastic threads), but don’t provide much warmth outdoors, either.
Chi wonderful advice! Fortunately living in southern california it is easier to layer without bulk so I add mostly vests/scarves/cardigans which are quick to remove indoors. I really appreciate your clear descriptions.
I agree! This isn't enough when it's 0° outside. And I can't imagine wearing boots on bare feet. I even bought a pair of sheepskin insoles to make me warmer.
Thanks this was great! I love super thin mesh silk as an under layer, then something like the black long sleeve piece you wear, then I use very thin cashmere. My hint about tights under pants is to wear the shiny ones, or faux leather. For waterproof boots, but super stylish and a luxury look try Aquatalia. They make handsome shoes for men as well. Enjoying your channel💝
uniglo makes great underlayer-tops and bottoms called heat tech. Affordable and watch for sales-they are good. Try check them on line. I love them. Your tips are so practical. Love your videos. You are so right a cami really helps warm you up-I was so surprised when i first tried it because when I wear them in the summer I feel so bare. Again Uniglo has great camis with built in bras, I have many.
i have several of those uniqlo baselayers, but i find that even their warmest ones are no match for the fleece ones i got from 32degrees. i just wish uniqlo would make fleece baselayers in their current styling since i really love the fit and scoop neck of their baselayer tops
@@banthony8545 yes, it's their heavyweight baselayer, which i'm quite glad i got since it's warmer than the warmest of the uniqlo baselayers. just a few things: for my size, their smallest is still a tad bulky underneath (not as tightfitting as the uniqlo ones), and the scoop neck isn't as deep as the uniqlo ones either www.32degrees.com/products/womens-heavyweight-fleece-baselayer-ls-crew-tee?variant=32018456445017&avad=160597_b1e8dfd89&
Nice, but wouldn't be enough for me. I usually need 3 or 4 underlayers and then a wool sweater to survive. And for the bottom - tights, then thermal leggins under my jeans + obligatory thermal socks. It's hard to be cold-sensitive and don't look bulky 😂
@@kathyblum3218 i used to do the same when i was living in cleveland, OH, and i came directly from tropical PH hahahaha didn't even drive when i was in OH, only rode the buses and taxis. kept my weight down though since i was chasing after buses and wearing heavy layers all the time hehehe

well, not all of us are born and raised in chicago or some other northern city/state. in fact, i'm born and raised in a tropical country, but now living in texas. if i had known these tips when i was living in cleveland, OH, i would've been able to be more comfortable in the 3 winters i was there. so yeah, SOME people do need this info
Honestly I have tried everything. I get overheated so easily in winter. After I walk for 10 minutes, or go inside. I give up dressing up for winter. I just wear a single layer underneath with a big padded coat that covers my bottom. I just want to to keep warm
have to learn, but my problem is my hot flashes,i go on foot most of the time, take the train and it’s really warm, plus my hot flash attacks me,i wanted to go nude😂,but i don’t wanna look frumpy,so this video is a must for me to watch🎉
Love your videos!!!! I just purchased a really pretty sheer embroidered navy sleeveless blouse for the spring/ summer. I live in the south so it will be hot here by late March. How can I wear sheer tops in a conservative professional way???? They are so feminine so I can't pass them up. Thanks for your help. 😉
Do you buy petite puffer coats or regular sizes? Do you hem the sleeves if you buy the regular sizes? I noticed on your blush/cream puffer coat (which I like a lot!), there are zippers at the wrists, so you probably didn't hem them. Often a regular size will have arm lengths too long for me.
Hi Chi!! Hope you are well!! I’ve been trying to find some Thermal Modal or Wool long sleeve under layer tops but as Shape-wear like your suggestion here with the cardigan outfit. However, I am finding it so hard here in Oz! Not sure if any of your followers are Australian and might be able to recommend a brand or two that I can try on before I buy..? Cheers and thanks for all your replies, Jo xxxx
I've discovered thermal wear at Costco, and being petite the regular women's size S wouldn't work. But hey, there's thermal wear for kids and for the price of women's pack (of 2), I got 3 in the kid's pack size M ! 2 black and 1 off white tops & bottoms. It made winter in Madrid bearable.
I found that tucking my top into my tights keeps my top looking neat.

Yes...let's hear it for black in winter dressing and pantyhose for warmth. You rock.

You are amazing. I am tall but I get so many good tips from your videos. Especially since I live in a cold climate.
Glad you find it helpful!
I love all your tips.
Always wear a nude as the very first layer. Black not so much. Do this also with socks too!
why nude and not black?
Love all your videos ❤️🎄
i love my Bernardo puffer coat!
Could you write, or provide a link for, the name of the brand of the black “commuter” boots? Is it Karen Rose?
I think she was referring to Taryn Rose boots.
Love your videos!
Any suggestions for keeping bottom warm without wearing tall boots and tight underneath?
Try Uniqlo’s Heattech pants or leggings. They are very helpful to me.
Hi Anna, maybe high warm socks would help ?!
Thanks so much. Love your channel! Can you share where you purchased the first cable knit sweater (the one with more of a crew neck?)? Thanks!

Most of my puffer are from Dawn Levy- the XS fit me quite well without alterations. I also have puffer from Eddie Bauer and they make petite sizes.
