I learned how to drive on one of these when I was just a lil kid!!! I was too small to pick up the hay bales so I drove the hay wagon through the field instead!!! Wow!!! Thank you mr bill and uncle Bucko!!!

Thank you 🙏 Bill for the carb tips. I have a similar combo in my 79 Camino and I went to 8.5 pv and 35 squirter q 750 on the primary and still have a slight stumble. I’ll try your pump cam recommendation. Thanks 🙏

I always adjust the accelerator pump arm adjustment so I can fit a .010" feeler gauge between the arm and adjustment spring at full throttle. That does 2 things. One) it makes sure the pump squirts with any movement of the throttle. And 2)(I think more important) It gives a cushion so you can't rip the pump diaphragm by overextended it.

Hey Bill! Loved this video very informative! After carb tuning it’s sounds real good. I say it won’t be long you will have it in the eleven’s for sure. Missed you in Billy’s video boy what a show !!the race your boys had was one of the best one’s I have ever seen. Competition deluxe. Both boy’s can really drive. Keep up the great content! Until next time stay safe! Also Miss Vicky I am with you, love that pot roast at Cracker Barrel 😀😀❤️

Adjust that front pump arm with a gap at idle.. At 2000 rpm launch you have already used up half your pump shot. Adjust it so its JUST touching when holding throttle at 2000rpm. Guaranteed fix.

I so enjoyed the video love the JD content your dad is amazing going out this summer to plant with the old JD wow! I really love the carb content it took me back to the 70s when I had my race car, I used 6inch bolts to stand my carb other bench and my intake was a holley strip dominator, thank you so much Bill I had a blast back then and made a few dollars at the same time. God bless you guys and as always be safe 👍
P.S. it's good to hear that Kenny's little s-10 might be fixed you never know about uncle bucko diagnosis 😆

I think I heard Rich with a heavy sigh back there at Lucorre as soon as he hit those cold 42 degree 4:10 gears when he was checking the stumble too.
As bad as fuel costs are, I would drive it to the track to put some miles on em. Have someone on stand by to trailer it home, or follow you there, those gears need a proper break in period this time. Lol.

I'm sure you know your carbs better than I but I'd like to mention. If you are powerbreaking for your launch, That puts your excellerator cam in a different position than at idle. You wouldn't want it too far up the lobe before the big opening if you know what I mean because you won't be getting the full lift of the lobe. Good luck. Really enjoy your vids.

Watching Bill Sr. take his 1952 Johnny 'Popper' down his driveway brought back some wonderful memories for me. My beloved Grandpa had a small (80 acres) farm in the Ozark's of Missouri, he had a John Deere exactly like the tractor we watched in this cool video. He also had a little Farmall 'B' my Grandma drove in their garden and in the fields mowing areas Grandpa couldn't get to on the BIG tractor. Many a farmer were hurt driving those old tractors if the seat broke off dumping the farmer off in front of the equipment they were pulling. One thing was for certain, that old tractor served my Grandpa well til they sold it once they got too old to take care of the of 'tha place'.

Mine had been sitting in the garage since 1997, Head is completed and back, block still at the machine shop last 31 days, ordering the Ross Forged pistons is next, and all the rest of the parts are cleaned, freshened and painted, and waiting to be bolted on.
Fuel cell, plumbing, wiring going now. Completing the dream, but the youtube channels were the motivation it took to finally do it.
Cannot wait to scale the completed car to see how close to min wt. of 2,475 lbs. I am so far before I tear into under the dash.
All thanks to O.M.G, SRC, VGG, GEN II, Jeff, and T.J., Matt...with a lil' Chief and Jack, 187 and of all things Cleetus and his crazy gang.
Off to call the machine shop to ck. on progress.

I had a Model B JD Great tractors! Uncle Bucko may be old school... but us old school guys know our s...t!
The sbc like to be quite up to temp to run efficiently, especially racing if you want to be consistent.
I tune my power valves by hooking a vac gage, car warmed up, in gear, at idle, take a reading.. what that reading is -divide by 2
puts you super close.. You want to super fine tune that thing on the malibu- start playing with air bleed jets.
put a A/F gage in it too> that cars gonna fly! just keep a rear in one piece!
