I think Phastos' worse downside is when he's not played on turn 3. But hey, we got other card that's great on turn 3 and not that good after that: Hope Summers. And she is awesome and pretty consistent. I think Phastos is on the same path. Also: Phastos in Thanos 👀...
@@spystar18 I didn't say she was bad, just not so great as in turn 3. That's similar with Phastos, the ideal is turn 3, turn 4 is still ok, after that, it doesn't feel very worth it. But even with this downside, Hope turned out to be an amazing card, that's why I think Phastos is going to be just as good.
I think Phastos and Makkari don't have great synergy besides both working with Silver Surfer. If Phastos gives Makkari -1 Cost then you just wasted that Phastos buff because Makkari can play herself for free already.

I really want to try Phastos in an Arishem deck. Pixie, Phastos, Arishem, with crystal, Jane, and Adam Warlock of all cards. Probably a destroy or two to clear space. Echo, rogue, and Enchantris to defend against DH first week or two.
I'm thinking he is more or less on par with Mister Negative. I know Negative can have a much higher ceiling then Phastos but you don't need cards like Ravonna to get him out on turn 3. In theory you can even run him in a Namora deck as you can have Absorbing Man proc Phastos or Namora for a cheap Odin. He might even bring less value to Sera in these decks as you rarely are hitting 3 cards slammed down turn 6 or 7. Another thing to mention when it comes to Wong and 3 cost cards is Sage can always find a home for that time you need to go tall instead of wide. Though as someone with only 4 weeks of play you can take what I have to say with a grain of sawdust.
I think Phastos is a card that you need to know how to utilize the SNAP mechanism to make him good. Foe me, his superpower is the unpredictable end game power spread, so the key will be if you can use it to maximize the cube rate. His win rate will probably be mid, but his cube rate will decide whether he is good or not.
Has been very excited for Phastos ever since datamined, not only because I think he is so good but also because he comes with Corvus. I can finally get him and maybe get to enjoy discard even if Hela got nerfed.
I think the biggest grip about him right now is the fact that he is demanded to be used on turn 3 to fully utilize his ability cz by turn 4 or more he will feel awkward to use.

Honestly I feel like people are over hyping him. The problem is that he's being a three cost depending on when you play him a good chunk of the cards won't be in the deck. And depending on the luck the player might miss out getting the important cards getting buffed.
Unless you play him down on turn 3 I can't see him being very good. But if you play him on curve he could be valuable in niche decks like surfer. That is my prediction anyway.
i see what you're saying but even if you dont get him down on 3, a deck like surfer who can still compete without him.. getting him down later than 3 can still be useful if you have a draw for the next turns, it can MAYBE come in clutch maybe
He's a very hard card to judge! Okoye isn't very good and Phastos costs 1 more - but he also does a lot more and can be played alongside Okoye. Only time will tell how he performs.
Zoo Wee Mama! I'm debating spending the tokens on him, just for the funsies. I was telling my buddy that I felt Pixie/Phastos will go hard. I definitely want to save my limited spotlights for Arishem though, just because if I pull Hercules along the way it is at least a new card for me. That and I'm also not the biggest fan of the variants this week.
I'll have to come by and watch you play with him some to see if it's worth it. I think him reducing a 3 cost to 2 energy could help smooth out Sufer's curve fairly often as well 🤔.

He’s a snap card tho. Cards that allow you to snap before turn 4 are extremely strong.
