Watching these games, how many times does he really have a choice in what card to play? Barely any as far as I can tell. Maybe it will get better when more sets are released
you can still misplay and the player has a choice in how they distribute energy trainer cards make things complex though the game is more so luck than anything, you can still misplay or play right
@@mr.cantplayaninstrument8402 You mean like using oak before using the balls? Or just wasting energy for some reason? I feel like it’s as deep asa puddle currently
@rastafari2k3 like whether you play the fast game or long game. What pokemon will you sacrifice to let a built pokemon have more hp when active. Ex pokemon count as two points when killed but it can still take 3 pokemon to lose if you allow 2 normal pokemon to get killed before an ex. I could go on but I think it has the right amount of complexity for a "pocket" version of a game that just started
@@rastafari2k3Like many things, playing around the Sabrina card to be sure to win a game, playing around a red card by, for example, not using Oaks if it isn't needed as you can use them if ya get red carded or also focusing to not miss play, which btw is something Dkayed himself did on the last game and costed him the entire game as he had the win right there. If you're curious the miss play was evolving Kadabra into Alakazam, he should've used Sabrina and develop from there, if Zebstrika entered, Kadabra could've killed and he only needed to evolve the benched one, if Pikachu entered he directly would've went into Alakazam and win. These are only a few examples as it's very match dependant.
Hey Dkayed, greetings from Brazil!! My man, what do you think about a session in your site that we can filter decks by tournament? I tried to understand the bracket of the 512 tournament that happened last week and got confused. Thanks man!
I think a bigger problem with competitive pokemon (non card game) isn't exactly the breeding. Its needing to have all the different versions of the games so you can transfer over pokemon that are Meta/good from past games. I actually prefer the format before they open up the regulations to older pokemon. Its real corny how you potentially have to invest 200+ dollars just to be able to get a relevant team unless someone trades you. And because Genning gets you banned you can't trust people who trade you mons. Its so ass. I think Wolfey made a video about it.
Im pretty sure Alakazam is S tier. In terms of win rate i almost never lose with Alakazam. I lose much more with my pikachu, zard, starmie articuno and mewtwo decks. Alakazam is the anti meta, therefore it's meta
Breeding for Pokemon was never hard, it just takes forever, so it's a more efficient use of your time to do testing on online sims where you can adjust any variable on the fly before you commit to it in the game. The worst formats for accessibility are probably when legendaries are allowed, because you can't get more than one per playthrough so you might be F'ed if you didn't look for certain things when you caught it like 0 speed/attack IV, and you might end up needing to buy other games if you don't have people who are willing to help you. I also feel like it's a game where you need to have an encyclopedic knowledge of what every meta relevant thing can do, or you're gonna have a bad time. The knowledge check is probably the biggest barrier to entry, similar to Yugioh tbh.
That missplay costed ya the game. Sometimes it's better to take more time for urself to think, maybe ya went for the top deck for content purposes which is understandable, but if ya really wanted to win maybe the good choice was going for the correct play 😅
No way you made PocketTCGmeta also! I salute you. Every card game needs a wiki
I watched you years ago playing Duel links and now I am back watching Pokemon Pocket!
Dude your Duel Links videos made my day all the time a couple years ago. I’m so excited you’re doing TCG Pocket! Just subbed I’m so stoked
Dkayed truly is the king of games. My boy made a Pokemon Pocket Meta
No freaking way you are on pocket! Awesomeee!!
Bro your opponent's got two crowned pikachus that's some crazy whaling 😂
VS system was my favorite card game ever too!
They’ve made making good Pokémon much easier now I hardly ever breed now to get good ones Evs and ivs are easier than ever
It's still a huge barrier to entry, like your average player will just go through the story and go in with some random team and get destroyed.
Dkayed. We no longer need to try hard to breed. You can now make a full competitive team in under a day.
we got runik in pokemon before gta6

Front Page has just been added, so we will now have dedicated tournaments articles. Soon a Tier List + Deck Breakdowns will also be added! :)
@@DkayedPokemon you're a legend.
Been following you since duel links set 1! Thanks for the work all this years
