Maybe Makkari can be changed back to a 3/3 and its text to something like:
After the turn, runs from your hand to a random location. (if possible)
On Reveal: You can move this next turn.
Dracula Dump Deck is the home of Makkari 😊. It can even go C4 Evo with Hydra Bob.
That is a good home for it, but the Dracula Dump deck didn't need this card to dump their hand. I just don't see this card improving that deck much or at all

Yeah good choice. This is why I have no problem finding the willpower skipping cards. I skipped Blob and got him with 2 other cards I didn't have, that took a lot of willpower, but now I have a card I know is good and is unlikely to get nerfed AND two other new cards (I forget the cards lol. I really pulled for Blob)

You know youre reaching when one of the "synergies" is moon girl.
And the only way Moon Girl works with her is if you are on T4 or later, your hand is four or fewer cards, with one of those being MG, and then you draw Makkari. How often is that realistically happening?
@JamestheXennial if you've decided to put moon girl into a deck expecting to climb, you probably have bigger questions than that.
C3 was the only real home and now that's not even an option after the "buff". Surfer has so many good choices, why on earth would you ever run Makkari. Just terrible card lol. Anyways, good video as always doc.
Might use ikari in my blink/sersi deck. Its an extra four cost card for sersi.

Makkari has kinda a lot of synergies that nobody is touching on. She fits right in on an Evo deck. Perfect pairing with Shehulk and Infinaut. She’s probably a critical card for Havok. I by no means think she’s worth 6k tokens but I don’t think she’s useless either. She an effective 0/4 and works in any deck trying to not use energy/play cards and won’t fill the board.
As a Havok player, I absolutely disagree that Makkari is "critical." The better synergy is probably Thena since you're trying to limit how many cards you play per turn. Makkari will be good for decks that try to maintain priority for things like Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
@@ydgmdlu Perhaps critical is too strong of a word. There isn't really a settled Havok deck. 0/4 is a hell of a deal. Thena is definitely a good synergy.

I was thinking this could be useful to get prio to snipe with Cosmo and Echo, but that's not worth a series 5 to me. I wish there was more incentive to have prio again, but old Aero and Alioth were so good, idk if Second Dinner really wants to pursue that design space again.
I think Surfer just has much better options than Makkari. Yes she does help Surfer with spreading out but you'd much rather include high power cards like Gladiator or Shaw over her.
I think if you play an handbuff deck she might be solid since she works really well with Okoye, Nakia and Phastos (if he doesn't discount her instead). Also, her giving you priority will work really well with cards such as Negasonic, Echo, Red Guardian etc who works best when having priority.
Overall, I wish she was a series 4 card since that would make her easier to obtain but in her current form I think she's fine. She might be inconsistent at times but I feel like the fact she works well with handbuff cards and giving you priority might be her best selling point.
Why would you not feature Strong Guy in the Surfer/Makkari deck? Definitely some synergy there.
Here is my thought. I wouldn’t usually play on the location that adds 1/4 vibraniums into my deck because I want my other cards. I’m probably no doing it if they were 0/4s either. I’d still want my other cards.

I think with 4 power she's now a 'good' card. Like you said, lockdown plays with Storm, or strategies with Surfer.. I can definitely see her seeing play but.. overall still not too impressed with this card.
This is such a boring card. A card that plays itself and has very little impact to the game. I dont even care if it ends up being a good card, easy pass for me

@@OPGrimmz nah I won't care regardless. I've skipped cards that were meta just because they looked boring to me. I've waited to get cards later that were interesting to me and were meta just because I didn't really need them and wanted to save resources. Unlike the idiots that try to pull for every card with their 1 or 2 keys, I have the willpower to save for the spotlights that have multiple cards I don't have yet.
@@spystar18 maybe. I do think that card seems more interesting, but it seems a little to random to be a really good card. However, ppl were saying that about Nico before she came out. With random effect cards, I usually wait and see how they perform and then pull on the weekend if it looks like a fun and decent card
But, regardless, I only pull for fun cards are cards that I can see myself using often. With how much meta changes in this game, it's just a bad idea to get a card purely for meta reasons. What might be broken on release could get nerfed to hell a couple weeks later. All that really matters here is what you personally find fun. And a card that plays itself and does nothing else is really boring to me

0/4 ain't bad, but there are just so much better options for those 3-cost slots now.

C4 has never been a strong deck because it lacks tech options and the cards are more expensive than c2/c3 so it's harder to flood the board with Cerebro targets. Makkari actually helps with the 2nd issue a fair amount, but I'm not sure if it's enough to make C4 viable.
That Makkari plays herself at the end of the turn is important. If you draw her in a Surfer deck on turn 6, you'd have to play her out before Surfer in order to get his buff. She seems a bit too unpredictable to be more than a middling card at this point.

With Hydra Bob no longer on my radar she's a maybe. l probably won't get her until she becomes available in other spotlight week
I assume moongirl would duplicate makari, the turn ends and then she leaves your hand? Twice perhaps?
Yes, if you played Moon Girl while Makkari was still in hand (it would have to be the turn you drew Makkari) then she would duplicate her and each Makkari would run to a random location independently at the end of that same turn.
All they have to do is add the words and from deck to make her a great card
I have 5 keys saved, I guess that number gonna keep going up, so many boring cards hinestly. Tha fully Sersy is fun
Love gladiator but there are just too many big cards out there right now.

i dont see the point in makkari being 3 cost coz youd never have to play here ever what so ever never, unless you want stop a red hulk from growing
3-cost to get buffed by Surfer, to cost 3 if hit by Spider-Ham, and interactions with cards like Man-Thing and USAgent.

I think this card is a foundation for a new archetype
easy skip, at least theyre making it easy to save keys for Phastos and Arishem
Don't rush to get Phastos. Don't be surprised if he ends up being incredibly mid rather than "busted" like most people seem to be thinking. Remember what happened with War Machine.

It sucks because I really need X-23 and Gladiator and I know with my luck I'm going to have to spend 4 keys to get those two.
If it makes you feel better I'm in the same boat. For 2 weeks I've been back on forth on how much I even need them.

Very strong card. Underrated until they learn how to play it. I.e Crystal & strong guy.
They should add "draw a card" and she would be relevant
0/4 + Draw a Card is way too powerful- that's just free 4 power with almost 0 downside. Every deck would play it since it also helps you cycle through the deck to find the cards you want.
That’s more powerful than the old 6/9 America Chavez they nerfed. How about add a random card to your hand? Still seems too strong idk.
I'm so tired of seeing obvious series 4 cards being released as series 5.
Makkari = mediocre
Makkari = Midkkari
Makkari = Surfer's Proxima Midnight
Makari is a good card, but its boring and likely not meta breaking.
Yeah unfortunately even with the obvious decks that she will go in its an ez skip.
