Cracking video mate 👌. I've got myself 3 of them boxes filled up with lures . Down in Cornwall in September for a week camping. Don't know if I've got the right gear???? . Got myself a Mitchell Riptide rod and a Mitchell Avocet reel. Got all the lures you mentioned but someone recommended a Diawa Shoreline shiner. Apparently he has never not caught a Bass on his local mark down in Cornwall. Keep the videos coming mate both shore and lure. Cheers Paul

Great advice, not just about lure fishing itself but sensible approach to doing it safely. One thing on the mobile phone, if you notice power depleting change your voicemail to say what three words location you’re at, something I picked up recently for hill walking advice..

Hi i have a question. Fishing from the beach is it better to have weighted lures or weightless lures that float? Do i add any of that spray on scent stuff onto the lures? I never catch anything 😂
I prefer weighted just can cover more distance out further if on the shore If fishing off rocks into deep water then weightless possibly depending on how rough it is Never used the scent stuff!

No problem mate To use them you screw them into the lure and then put the hook point of the weedless hook in the eye left at the front of screw and then line it up with lure and then insert hook You can also get weedless hooks with the screws built on too depending on lure size I use the savage gear weedless hook range with the screws on too Hope this helps

Thanks for commenting sorry for delay in replying Best months are from april till oct but some fish all year round Just slow down your retrieve from oct till end march
Braid on its own around rocks is pretty non abrasion resistant On a clean beach you can prob get away with it The use of a fluro carbon leader acts as a rubbing leader meaning if it brushes against rocks it's less Likley to cut than straight braid Also the fluro leader is pretty much invisible in the water so it makes your lure look more realistic Hope this helps :)

Excellent video. Informative and I like the emphasis on safety as I learn to lure fish alone. A question; I drive/walk 90 minutes to the Sussex coast exploring and often arrive to find cloudy water. How can I best predict clear(ish) water before hitting the road?!

Best way is to join a local facebook group My group is called UK & IRELAND SEA ANGLERS (THE EASTBOURNE FISHERMAN) Feel free to join us and you can post to ask clarity ect they all a fab bunch Othet ideas is to check the local beach web cams you can find these via a google search Tbh i wouldnt be put off with clarity just adapt your fishing to a slower retrieve and a more brighter lure colour flourecents Hope this helps And happy fishing :)
My rods i use 7ft and 8ft Can cast a fair distance from shore Most of our fishing locally is over sunken reefs so you dont really need to cast too far. Where are you fishing?
I only use a small leader of around 2ft When i cast i like the knot to be out of the top eye of the rod Some people use a longer leader which wraps around the reel and is the same length as the rod I guess its all down to personal preference and how snaggy the ground is that your fishing over
Personally i prefer braid it doesnt stretch and is easier to work the topwaters and pop them. Only downside is its less abrasive so a leader is needed. I have been trying just straight braid tho so will let you know how i get on with it. But most lure anglers will have a braid mainline

Good advice, was out earlier with a fiish minnow, conditions good but no luck, will try again tomorrow. Tight lines!
How you getting on with the fiish minnows and what size are you using? I found the bodies were way too soft and the tails got broken off easy
