@@Wassim6538 the actual comment is below
If you aren't getting an effective growth stimulus from your existing lateral raises then you almost certainly have a quality problem, not a quantity one.
Either that or you're just expecting too much too soon and wrongly assuming that some magical lateral raise protocol is going to provide a shortcut to the massive shoulder gains you're after. (It won't - this shit takes time.)
In any case, aimlessly pumping out more and more sets on a million different lateral raise variations is not the answer.
At best it's a waste of time/effort and at worst it could be counterproductive if the excessively high volume/frequency is pushing your delts beyond their ability to adequately recover and grow in between sessions.
If you're executing your lateral raises properly then you shouldn't need more than a handful of sets throughout the week on one or two different variations to see optimal results.
That means your technique is on point (not enough space in one caption to cover that), you're training extremely close or all the way to failure (or beyond) on your sets, and very importantly, you're aiming for steady progress over time.
Don't listen to this nonsense about how lateral raises are purely a "feel" movement with only a tiny available window for progression.
The exact same logic of progressive overload applies to this exercise as any other if hypertrophy is the goal - the only difference is that progression will occur in smaller increments.
For example, adding 1 pound to your dumbbell lateral raises or doing half an extra rep with the same weight would still be significant.
If you're not steadily increasing the reps and load and/or modifying the execution to make the lift more challenging (I.E. slower negatives or static holds at the top or bottom) then all the lateral raise spamming in the world isn't going to save you.
Too long, my ooga booga attention impaired brain ain't reading allat
And always remember that single joint mouvements don't grow that much muscle in the first place and most of your side delt growth will come from overhead presses and rows
@MyLegsIsKindaLong progressively overload like any other muscle, people do junk volume on lateral raises and it will be a waste of time making your recovery more shit. Add weight or more reps to verload
My advice: pull, push, and fly - strive to hit the same muscle group with a different motion each time, rather than just repeating the same basic movement with different variations.
My last back and shoulder workout consisted of cable rows, rear delt cable crossovers, and overhead press, before rounding it off with a super set of shrugs + lateral raises.
what is a "feel" movement?

Literally sitting in gym right now about to do lateral raises. Been doing 4 sets to failure (9-11) at 25lbs for about 2 months (time since I upped my weight). The guy next to me is here teaching his son what to do and is slowly and steadily repping 40's. His shoulders are massive. Today I'm jumping up to 30lbs 👍
25 lb lateral raises is sick dude good shit
Yo bro what do ikr shoulders look like? I’m at 6 kilos, been doing it for a year or so now
repped 35’s for 12 yesterday with a dropset too, i can say rn that as long as you train close to failure and progressively overload and are seeing progress every week granted you’re beginner to intermediate, you’ll get bigger side delts
@@ibrahim_-_-_ Especially with side delts, there is quickly a limit to progressive overload when it comes to weight and the performance remains technically good.
@@leftwinger764 i think that’s a myth man. atleast for me, i started material raises with 10 lbs and jumped to 35 fairly quickly, the upper limit for me is probably around 50 pounds and that’s where i’ll peak
your shoulders have the most potential for muscle hypertrophy in your upper body, even more so than the lats and chest, if you train them properly they should be increasing relatively fast
but everyone is different, i was blessed with super wide clavicles and a narrow waist but again this shouldn’t inhibit anyone from training shoulders to failure just like everything else

Actually spamming lateral raises for me worked and doing a bunch of high reps and drops sets on them twice a week. It’s no magic pill. Lateral raise and rear lateral raise mixed with incline press and flat press will get your shoulders jacked.
Hi, what's a rear lateral raise?
@@RammusTF another name would be rear delt flys just lean forward and hinge at the hips with dumbbells in your hands and imagine trying to fly with them and focus on your rear delts pulling the weights back. Slow and controlled with this movement or you will engage too much back.
I did something similar and it worked well for me. I do pause sets going for 20 reps with strict no-swinging form and a controlled eccentric. EG 20s-25s-30s-35s, then drop set to 20s, then 15s.
Pause sets is like doing the 35s to failure with 12 reps, waiting 10-15 seconds, getting 6 more reps in (as much as I can), waiting 10 seconds, and getting the last 2 reps in.
Similar setup for bent over rear delt raises.

The Secret Is That Their Is no Secret
Its just Progression, Consistency and Intensity
The best exercise for side delts is lateral raises done sitting backwards on an incline bench so your body is leaning forward slightly with your chest supported by the bench. This isolates the side delt and prevents cheating and is way more challenging than a normal side raises. It's humbling because you will have to use less weight than you normally do to start with but you will build back up and as you do your side delts will grow. Remember the side delt is a relatively small muscle when isolated.
I've seen some videos suggest this and I've tried it. I also like holding my hands palm down with a slight tilt away from my body.
I’ve seen really solid growth with y cable raises, need to try the incline bench version
Dude, your traps are insane
3 sets 10rep DB shoulder press, 3 sets 12reps DB lateral raises and 3 sets 12reps DB front raises works wonders on a Push day
You dont need no front raises, the anterior delt gets enough stinulus from overhead press and the other pushing compounds
@@dokoloco4559 I used to believe that due to respectable youtube hosts pushing that theory and also because it makes sense.
I stopped doing front delt isolations for about a year. Looking at old pics I noticed that I used to have much bigger front delts. Started doing them again and just after a couple of months I noticed they came back to size (almost as big as in my old pics).
I can 100% confirm that front delt shoulder isolations will get you bigger front delts (even after doing 4 exercises of chest and 3 sets of shoulder presses on a push day). Try it out and see. Good luck 👍

The key is to finally start using hormone replacement therapy
Based on recent research, you can absolutely spam lateral raises.
Gotta love the pump. I wish it stayed forever
The key is be short
Yessirrrr
It should also be noted that doing more than a handful of sets of anything is a waste of time. The only reason to do 3-4 sets at all is to reach failure if you couldn’t the first couple of times.
Lateral raises are the easiest exercise to do incorrectly. It's hard to manipulate the bench press curls or squats, but lateral raises can get short changed by using momentum to get it up, and also by letting them drop without giving resistance during lowering. It all can rob you from the muscular tension you need for growth.
My side delts are actually the only “developed” part of my body. Good side delt genetics I guess

Alright now Mur, now pose for all to judge 😂😂

Screw you for not telling us and tryna sell ur shi
At one point I got huge side delts by just doing 3 sets of 20 with 15 lb dumbells in each hand. That was less sets and less weight than everyone else in the gym and my delts always looked better than theirs, so how did I pull it off? Because I made sure that I actually felt it in delts with each rep when I did those raises, and believe me it is HARD. Most people intuitively kind of know that which is why they lean into using more of their traps and back without even realizing it. If you are doing those reps right, you know. It's not easy. It really doesn't take much to train them, the individual muscles that make up your delts are actually pretty small, which is also why it hurts so much to train them because they also have small tendons that can easily be injured, but if you're hitting them right it doesn't take many sets and reps. I've always been an advocate of quality over quantity in the gym, especially if you're natural
bro really said the key is to give me all your money wth
One thing I just learned after a few months of lifting is proper lateral raise technique, which seems so basic, but it’s hard to pick it up online. I read in one of Mr. Jeff Nippards programs that a cue is to raise the weight “out” and not up. Game changer.
