Delucia has been CRIMINALLY underrated throughout the years. Love these interviews. You guys do such a graat job. I truly believe this is the best MMA pod. 💯 Wishing Jason and you guys all the best.
Great conversation. Seems like a very well-adjusted individual who continues to speak of his contemporaries more respectfully than they even deserve. It’s strange to think of him jiving well in the room at Lion’s Den.
When you want h his Pancrase fights, you will see that his leg lock game was very cutting edge. I like to refer to him as the east coast version of Erik Paulson. - in terms of extreme searches in order to become the ultimate “human weapon”
This is such an underrated interview, and one of the most spirited Martial Arts-journeys in the world I think.. Just amazing how when you look back at MMA and UFC, how Jason keep showing up in the cracks, and somehow always was there by his own efforts.
1:36:50 hahaha, that’s an awful feeling when you’re totally gassed and your opponent or training partner is fresh. Back in the late ‘90s I trained with this kid that was just a genetic freak. He invited me to go mountain biking on a trail that he regularly used. When we got to the second to the last stage of the trail I was absolutely done!!! I had nothing left, I had to get off my bike and lay down, and this kid is literally running over to a basketball court and jumping and hanging off the rim. I’m like dying going WTF?!?!?! It’s a terrible feeling lol. I was probably 28 at the time and this kid was 19 and an absolute genetic freak. He said to me, “you should see my brother and my Dad” lol….smh. This running story just reminded me of that memory.
What a thoroughly absorbing interview. Jason Delucia is a bright and very articulate person. He worked hard for his wins and his acknowledgment of the Gracie family in his career is admirable. Apart from his prowess in the ring as a mixed martial arts fighter, what I find really interesting is his training in aikido fascinated me as it is clearly not everyone’s cup of tea. But he is very open minded and sees the value in all martial arts. I wanted to know more so I got his DVD series "Combat Aikido" and loved it. Clearly aikido alone cannot be used in MMA (and nowhere did he claim this) but as a supplement it offers something for all martial artists. I believe this was his intention and it certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities.
@@LytesOutMMAHistory honestly, my only source or research would be the internet, and I did every comment where he would be involved in the event or the video, can’t find anything…. You’ll probably have more luck than me, maybe one of your contacts from the ufc like Jason knows about that?

An incredibly difficult interview to land as well.
Jason is deserving of being the MMA hall of fame

Ha
The feeling of looking at a fresh opponent after having given your all
Only 17:00 in and I'm hooked. Fascinating stuff hearing about Jason's mission to kick Stevan Seagals butt!! Instead challenging Royce Gracie.
I believe that this interview was in the conversation for that years best interview
It was also impossible to get
It took us over a year and a few dozen phone calls
Great interview
Our October releases are insane
- stay tuned
This is gold. I could listen to Jason all day. Hopefully there'll be another one 🙏

Jason is criminally under appreciated and someone that deserves to be in the HOF
Jason is a brilliant. Would love to meet him.
It took us 2 years to get this interview
One of the hardest that we landed
@@LytesOutMMAHistory it’s a top 5er for sure.
I think this was one of the best 👌
This was amazing 👏 👏👏👏
Fantastic interview thanks for putting out there
This was the interview of the year when we recorded it IMO
The following years winner was Tony Galindo - Ken Shamrock tell all
Any info on Trent Jenkins ? I’ve been looking all over the internet but I can’t find anything….
We have also been trying to track him down for an interview… please let us know if you have any luck
